How to play eXceed in English

Unlike the other two eXeed games, the story mode in the Steam version of eXceed 1 isn't in English. Luckily, a patch has been made which will integrate the official English text into the game.

Introduction

The Steam version of eXceed 1 doesn't contain English language text for the story. Before now the only way to read the official translation was to view it on a website[exceedseries.com]. Luckily, it's very easy to patch the official English translation into the game, to play it as it was meant to be played. With the patch, you can select between the original Japanese or translated English story modes.

Download English Patch

First, you'll need to download the English language patch, and save it to your computer. It can be found here:

Install English Patch

Next, we'll install the patch.

To install, just replace the Steam version of exceed.exe with the one downloaded above. For those that need more help on how to do this, read on..





You'll need to find where Steam has installed your eXceed files if you're not sure. To do this, right click on 'eXceed: Gun Bullet Children' game in your Steam Library, and select 'Properties':












Click the 'Local Files' tab, and click the button 'Browse Local Files'. This will open the folder containing your eXceed files.













Optionally, make a copy of your old exceed.exe file since we'll be replacing it with the patch. This is optional though, since you can always just redownload the original from Steam if you want to.









Finally, open the eXceed_Enhanced_English_Patch.zip that you downloaded earlier. There will be two files inside. Just drag and drop the exceed.exe file into the local eXceed Steam folder you opened earlier to replace the old version with the new patch.


That's it! Now just start eXceed as you normally would to play it in English!
