The basics (Foot Controls)
Let us start off with the controls before we go on to different tips.

This is your standard FPS game meaning W A S D to move, ctrl to crouch, and shift to sprint.

The leaning feature is also included in this game. Default controls being Q and E.

Holding both Q and E at the same time will cause you to "blind fire." We'll cover that later.

G is to switch through your grenades and middle click (Mouse 3) is to throw them.

Use is bound to F. (I suggest switching this to either mouse 4 or another key that feels more comfortable to you.)

T is your command button, or healing button. (details later.)

X is to roll.

H is goggles. C is flashlight. (these two require purchashed items)

K is to voice chat. (Yet again, I recommend changing this.) ' is to team chat, and enter is to all chat.

If a player is annoying you over voice chat press f3 and you'll be brought to a voice panel where you can mute players.

If you don't like your current load-out and want to have one ready to go next round, press f2 and you'll get the selection screen you seen in the start of a match.
The basics 2 (Driving Controls and Passenger Controls)
Before you attempt driving, get an understanding of how it works. Do not jump straight into a game and drive.
I recommend not driving if your ping is higher than 100. This can cause you to have some issues but I have seen someone drive flawlessly with over 200 ping.

Driving:
W is to accelerate, A and D are to turn, and S is to break. Ctrl is to crouch. What this does is it places you in a semi-safe area under the wheel in order to minimalise damage taken. You will lose visablity of the road and will be unable to shoot.
You can drive and shoot. I would recommend using an SMG if you plan on doing so but otherwise, stick with you pistol and try to shoot as little as possible. This will help you pay more attention to the road and help you avoid crashing into civilians.

Passenger:
Q and E allow you to lean out the windows. You have to press the corresponding button to the window you are at, meaning if you are at the left side, press Q to lean out the window and the right side is E. When leaning out the window you can look in any direction. Also, you will not be injured if the vehicle is driving along a wall and you lean out to shoot. Ctrl will place you in a semi-safe area under the dashboard, or if you are in the backseat it shall put you in a huddled position. If you are huddled up or taking cover, you can now reload your weapons, but cannot shoot them. You are also allowed to bash. (Thank you, Animekey(?), for updating me on the patch.)

When leaning out a window, your teammates can not see you leaning out so they can have full view, but your enemies can see you.

Press T to heal, especially if your driver is crashing a lot. You want to keep him as healed as possible or else you are going to have to take control.
X (Roll by default) is how you change seats. This can help you if you are in the middle seat of a car and can't seem to lean out the window.

As a passenger you can heal your teammates by pressing T on your teammates, this will keep them in combat. Remember; only try do so if you know you're in a safe area.
Just Starting
If you have just started this game and have no idea what is going on, let me help you out. First off, press options and adjust the controls. Make them what you'd feel comfortable with or keep them how they are.
Next, change your video and audio options if you haven't already and feel free to toy around with the game options until you are comfortable with what you have set them to.

Next off, hit Start Game. This will bring you to the lobby screen. Choose where you are or whatever server has the most people in it.

Now before you go hopping into a game, please do yourself a favor. Press "Shop." Here is where you can buy weapons, perks and equipment to help you along the way. I'd recommend buying a Assault rifle to start out. I'd say the AUG is a good weapon for those who like a challenge. This weapon packs a punch, but is balanced out by the recoil. If you're not someone who likes recoil then go for either the AK-47 or the K1A. Both these rifles have little kick and are fairly accurate with good damage that makes quick work of enemy players.

If an assault rifle isn't to your fancy, try out an SMG. I'd recommend either the P90 or the PDW. I will say that I have little experience with SMGs, but I’ve been told that they are the go-to SMGs, and are really worth their change.

I would not recommend using a shotgun to start out unless you are a "Up in your face" kind of player. I also wouldn't recommend buying a pistol from the start, but the ultimate decision is yours.

But please only buy one weapon at the start.

Next off, after you get your weapon, head on over to the "black market" tab and select "Perks" at the top row. Next, either buy a "GP Plus" or a "Double Plus." These items will increase your game points earned and GP is your credits in this game. So you want to get this right off the game.

Now what you're going to want to do is exit the shop and head over to "Inventory." Select "Default Slot 1" on either CT or T. (You're going to have to do both anyways.) Now, in your menu select "Perk 1" and insert your GP Plus or Double plus into that slot. Next, select your Equipment and equip the Sniper rifle in there. You will not get your sniper every round. You will get a message telling you in game that you have your sniper for that round.
At the bottom you'll see "Requisitions." Feel free to select what feels comfortable to you for your grenades.

After you have selected both CT and T and have them set up, go to your weapons rack. This is found as soon as you enter the Inventory screen at the bottom. If your guns are not already on the screen, head over to the section of gun that you have purchased and put that in your first slot for that tier. When you have done this, hit save and close the menu when you are done.
Game Modes
Before I go in depth, please take the time to read this.
DO NOT KILL CIVILIANS! If you kill a civilian, you WILL lose experience. You also will lose a round if you kill too many civilians, so DON'T DO IT.

Okay.... now that I’ve cleared that up... let’s go into the game modes.

In this game there are 3 mission types: Team Death match, VIP (Which is where driving is involved) and Hostage situation.

Lets start off easy; Team Death match.
Everyone should know what this is. Eliminate and work as a team.
Now you might be asking yourself, "Why'd he bold team?"
Well, to answer that question, I bolded team because this game actually rewards you for surrounding yourself with teammates. This is what I like to call the "Strength in Numbers" tactic.
Basically to keep this in a Tl;dr format, surround yourself with teammates increases your accuracy GREATLY. It will also allow you to easily heal your teammates if they are getting injured. (Default, as previously mentioned, is to look at them and press T)

Next up: Hostage situation.
If you are a T (T = Terrorist), press Use (Default F) to herd the hostages to the ammo box. This is the objective, keep the CT's away from the civi's, keep the civi's at the ammo box, and if you are a CT rescue the hostages by hold Use on them. You can also call them to you to keep you under cover. Do not kill the hostages on either side or else you are A) a ♥♥♥♥♥♥bag and B) either losing experience or preventing the other team, or your team from getting experience.
You can also use hostages as a meat shield by holding S and Use.

As a CT you may spawn on the roof and you might be asking yourself, "What do I do?" Well... you have two options. You can either take the door, or be a total bad-ass and rapell down the side of the building. How do you rapell? Simply find a little post on the rooftop and hold Use (Default F) on it until you see the tether attatched to yourself. Now, jump off the building. Make sure to be facing the wall and when your ready, hit W to go to the wall. Now you can either walk down the face of the building, or you can jump down to lower yourself. When you want to go through a window, simply jump and hit Roll (X by default.) Now when you go through that window, hit use again to unhook yourself.

VIP escort:

The game is in the name, Escort. The basic premise is the CTs bring the VIP to the objective location. T’s must intercept the CT’s, kill the VIP and retrieve the VIP’s case.

Be warned, this game mode can ♥♥♥♥ some people off. Please do not drive if you have high ping or can't control the car.
To those who call the driving "Slippery" or "bad" you probably don't understand what's going on.
To clear up some misunderstandings about why you are suddenly losing control of your car and whatnot, here is what's going on.
If you look in the bottom left of your HUD, you'll see a little bar next to your car. If that bar is in the yellow, you are losing control of your car because your car is taking too much damage. If a wheel is red that means that a wheel has been busted and can cause your car to drive slower or make it nearly impossible to turn/keep control.
If you get shot, it's just like real life. Think about it, you're getting shot whilst driving your car, you're not going to be able to stay stable because of the sudden pain. If your arm gets shot, especially whilst you are turning, you are going to swerve so try to keep your car as stable as possible until your character recovers.

Now that I've cleared that up, let’s go into playing as a CT.
If you are the driver, and you have the VIP car, please for the love of god, FLOOR IT. Do not take a moment to sit there and notice you are driving. To see if you're driving the VIP car, or driving at all, look in the top right corner of your screen and see whether or not you have an escort car, or a vip car, or if you are a passenger.
Also, try to take shortcuts and take a moment to plan out where you are going in the squad select screen. If you are an escort car, do NOT for the love of god race your VIP driver. You are meant to keep behind him and keep the enemy's vision of him to a near minimal. You must keep in front of your enemies to make your passengers’ lives a hell of a lot easier as they shoot at the enemy cars.

Now, playing as a T:
Floor it right from the get go. You want to be in front of that VIP driver and you want to just forget that there are even escort cars. Until that VIP is dead you only have one job and that is to KILL AND DESTROY THAT VIP CAR AND VIP HIMSELF. After you have eliminated the VIP you want to kill every CT that is within your view so that you can secure that case. When the vip dies, a T helicopter comes in for you to secure that case. When you pick up the case, you are vulnerable. Try to stay in cover until you see that helicopter coming down for you. You cannot be under a bridge when you have the case, you must be in the open for the helicopter to lower for you.
Also try to shoot for the enemy's engine if you are not having luck with shooting their driver or passengers. This will destroy the car much faster and cause it to explode. Also try to shoot for the tires, this will cause the enemy to swerve out of control.

Maps for VIP are Highway, and Inner-city.
Maps for Hostage are any other server titled with Mission.
Team death match servers have a longer name at the start of them so you won't have to look for specific maps. Also TDM servers have their maps with [TDM] so you can better identify them.
Leaning and Blindfiring
Leaning is something you should take to your advantage. Please, remember to lean to check around a corner before you go charging in because 9/10 times you're going to get shot up for not checking that corner. You can also use hallways to your advantage. Most players might have difficulty seeing you down a long hallway as you shoot down it, dominating whoever dares to walk down there. But also remember to have someone watching your back. Remember, strength in numbers.

Blind firing:
This is something that most players might not understand. To do a blind fire you must be under cover and have a ledge that you can't see over but your gun can shoot over. Remember, to do this hold both Q and E (by default) at the same time to do this. This will cause you to lose quite a bit of accuracy but will keep you protected. When blind firing, don't worry if your crosshairs are on the piece you are hiding behind. Just make sure you don't see bullet holes appearing in front of you.
This can be used highly to your advantage. Just make sure that someone is actually in the direction you are blind firing from or else your just wasting bullets.
Gameplay Tips
-If you see little ticks next to your crosshairs, this is because you have teammates nearby. Remember, the more teammates around you the more accurate you shoot.

-Teammates who are injured will have a pulsing red circle under their feet. Heal them by pressing T. There is a small bar under your health bar that has a smaller percentage. That is how much you can heal and how much healing power you have left.

-Reloading does not take the entire clip. It will take any spare ammo from your previous clip and count as it not wasting a clip. (Thank you, Chuzzy, for this tip.)

-When sprinting, you can not shoot. Also when sprinting, your footsteps can be heard by the enemy and you will placed as a marker on the minimap, so try not to sprint too often.

-While being a passenger try to use your pistol when far away from the VIP car as a T. When close, switch to your primary and light it up!
Also, as either CT or T, don't be afraid to toss grenades or flash bangs, they can really change a battle if placed correctly.

-Driving over the green packages as either team grants you a chance to find a grenade launcher or an RPG. These are both powerful weapons that can easily destroy a vehicle, so try to use them well! (And don't waste them on an escort car if the VIP is still alive.)

-When defending as a T in Hostage situation, try not to stray too far away from the hostages. They will try to make a break for it and you can get mowed down rather quickly if your enemy's are smart, so try to keep in cover!

-Remember, grenades bounce. So try to use walls to your advantage to keep yourself in cover before attacking up front.

-Try not to spray and pray too much. You will have more luck at shooting someone by crouching, staying still and having controlled fire opposed to strafing and jumping around.

-Try different guns out if the one you're using isn't working out too much. As soon as you find what weapons you're comfortable with, focus on getting some permanent gear for your character to get a jump on other enemies.

-Remember to be a good sport! Say GG at the end of every match and have fun everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to read this guide!
