A thorough list of the achievements and how they are obtained.

Explore Outside

Find the unknown in your own back yard
Explore Outside requires that you atleast be proficient at walking, crouching, picking up items, and observation. This achievement can either be extremely easy to get or extremely grindy depending on your overall proficiency in the aforementioned skills and whether or not you suffer from near-sightedness. [Your graphics settings may need adjusting and I reccommend using a 'fixed' as opposed to 'random' world setting for loading purposes] Stand up and push your chair out as to allow free range of motion. If you are sitting on a crate or the floor please disregard the initial instruction. If you are in a wheelchair or suffer from a degenerative muscular disease, you may also disregard or modify these instructions. Walk towards the nearest egress and make your way into Outside. [Depending on your region this may require additional DLC or content and can often be region blocked]
This is the meat of the game! While grinding this one out, you can easily accomplish most of the other achievements!

You are going to spend some time exploring. You should experience some random encounters.
**please refer to and complete Fear of the Unknown first if you are unsure of your local fauna's safety**
At some point you should encounter an unknown chelicerate, crustacean, myriapod, or hexapod [insects or entognaths are both acceptable]. [[took me 5 attempts LOL]] You may take a screenshot if you wish, but it is unwise to handle the insect. This can bug other chievees guys! While it is reccommended that you refer to either your favorite dichotomous key or field guide to identify the organism, it is not required for the achievement!

Next, launch steam. Go to the library tab. Click Incredipede. After the game launches, you will see a button that says cheevos in the bottom left corner. [pictured below]


Click it. On the next screen you will see a series of options.[pictured below]

Select "Explore Outside."
After clicking you will have to confirm this twice.
Achievement unlocked.

Do Feed The Animals

Feed ants some sugar and watch how they behave

This one can be tricky if you don't know where to get sugar! Luckily my Dads keep scads of it all over the duplex! LOL
After aquiring sugar, collect 1 empty medicine dropper and 1 water. Combine empty medicine dropper and water to obtain "full medicine dropper." This was my setup when I did the achievement and even though medicine dropper can be a pricy item it just works the best!
**If you do not have or are unable to afford empty medicine dropper you can alternatively use empty sports bottle, empty spray bottle, or your hands. please note that if you select "your hands" there is now an added time req on this cheeve. :|

Spider Secrets

Find out which threads are sticky in a web

This is the first really easy cheeve to do! You are not at all required to find a spider or a spider's web!
Go to this article[en.wikipedia.org] and read.

Achievement unlocked.

Fear of the Unknown

Another pretty easy achievment to accomplish. You do not need a field guide guys! I just typed in '[name of my area] + dangerous insects" on google and read the most relevant looking articles. Now I'm not the best reader but I did find out that there are only 2 poisinous species of spiders in Ohio; the brown recluse and black widow respectively. Boy was I relieved! It made Explore Outside a far less stressful gaming experience.

Next, launch steam. Go to the library tab. Click Incredipede. After the game launches, you will see a button that says cheevos in the bottom left corner. [pictured below]


Click it. On the next screen you will see a series of options.[pictured below]

Select "Fear of the Unknown"
After clicking you will have to confirm this twice.
Achievement unlocked.

Close Encounter

Get close to a creepy crawly

This one can be a bit scary if you have not already completed Fear of the Unknown but it is effectively the end game so it can not be avoided.
This can be accomplished in the same run as Explore Outside but I reccommend seperate playthroughs for safety's sake and to sort of split the game in half. 6 achievements is pretty crazy for me. I want to make sure i have enough time to study! [This associate's degree in Geriatric Music Therapy isn't going to complete itself!]
After you experience a random encounter with any chelicerate, crustacean, myriapod, or hexapod; make sure it is a safe species and pick it up.
Let the organism crawl on your hand for roughly a minute or until the organism leaves of its' own volition.

Running Legs (SPOILER)

**SPOLIER ALERT DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE CHANGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!**

to minimize spoilerization please read the above ON YOUR OWN! Don't have someone else read it, use an achievement map, or an achievment hack (f****ng SAM users >:| ) There are other legit methods to get this one but this way really is the easiest.

Thank you for the excellent guide. I was struggling with "spider secrets" until it hit me. Literally. In the basement. I think I accomplished the next two achievements at the same time.
