"He was the best ball a man could've ever asked for, it all started when i found him rolling towards me, just asking me to throw him into the soft, moist air and into the metal dogs cold, deadly grasp, it was then, when it all happend, i had to, i just had to bring him with me into this dark and dangerous journey.
I couldnt resist it.
We finally get outside to ravenholm, it had to be the first time he saw light, it was just extrodinary, i could even see tears in his eyes upon first sight.
This was a dangerous journey and we were desperate to find shelter and... luck struck, we had found some type of priest, supposed to be friendly, but... that bastard... i had to put down barry for a moment, to deal with some pesky headcrabs, but then... that damned priest shot barry, right in his little, cold metal heart, it not only hurt him physically, but mentally too. i had to get revenge.
Next day, Barry has made some new friends, one was some homeless guy playing dead, hanging from the tree, that guy was pretty skilled at it, next, another homeless guy, but this time, he was even better, didnt had a head, well, even a stomach. was a great guy.
Then... Barry did something i never thought he could, he, Barry himself, and ONLY himself, has killed a headcrab, this was an important step in his war life.
But... it all changed when the fire nation attacked.

Barry has been fired upon by his own team, his own squad, his... Friends... the, invisible wall, has blocked Barry out, leaving not only me, but my poor soul defenceless.

Hes still there, not only in my heart, hes waiting for a rescue that is never coming...

This post was made to memorialise Barry the Ball. He was loved dearly and a great member of the HL2 Community. Whether it was his jokes, or his looks; Barry was adored by everyone. And although he was tragically lost in his prime, he will live on in our hearts and minds.

Heres a more documented and formal life of Barry.

Early Life:
Barry was born on October XX 1XXX in the small town of Raveholm. He grew up with his mother and his father. He had 6 brothers who died tragically later in his life.

The 7 Hour War:
During the fabled 7 Hour War Barry fought tirelessly and valiantly, his 6 brothers sadly were enslaved by the Combine forces and then killed. Though their stories were told by Barry.
When Gordon Freeman had returned, he met Barry when being introduced to Dog. There he was taken care of and kept with Gordon until his tragic demise. They took out the forces of Ravenholm together, and advanced onwards.

Death:
Barry tragically died on XX XX XXXX, when Gordon and the Priest where surrounded by the zombie invaders in the graveyard. In a heroic move Barry sacrificed his life to save them. Allowing Gordon to continue onwards to leave Ravenholm and save Earth.

Goodbye, Barry.
