Wortox - The Playful Imp! Full Guide

This is guide I will show you how to play as the funniest character in Don't Starve Together - Wortox! Written by Wortox main.

Basics Stats

As Wortox, you have 175 hunger, 150 sanity and 200 health.
Wortox is the Imp, so he is not welcome like Webber by pigmen, bunnymen and catcoons.
He is less afraid of monsters than others.
His body craves for souls. So physical food will give him only half of benefits.
Wortox has amazing knowledge about Constant (place where you are in Don't Starve games) and he is really funny to play as. Even inspecting the rocks can be funnier with him.
His voice is violin.
His special word is "Hyuyu!" often used on different situations.

Wortox the Soul Starved

His body craves for souls. When something/someone dies and you are nearby, you can collect soul. Bosses will give you more souls but shadows and robots don't have souls to drop.

Souls are used in 3 ways: Wortox can eat them for 18 hunger and -5 sanity, tasty! / Let them go for 20 health each / Use them for Soul Hop (teleportation).

Healing - Imp can heal himself and allies around him but every ally is -1 hp from healing (for example 4 allies nearby with Wortox = 20 - 4 = 16 hp for everyone / Wortox with 1 ally = 19 hp for Wortox and ally)

Soul Hopping - He can jump for (in my opinion) very long distance and speed up travel by hopping through the gaps of ocean and the "voids" of caves. Even you can speedrun Ruins by Soul hopping to the Gateway and rushing Fuelweaver with even no damage taken if well prepared. Wortox can also dodge incoming attacks if soul hop in time, good alternative for kiting.

You start game with 6 souls in inventory.

Your maximum number of souls is 20. One more and Wortox is overloaded by them, losing 20 sanity and half of them (10 souls most of time). Always try to have the minimum of 6 souls so you can eat them / heal yourself / or escape from troubles! Hyuyu!

Solutions for Sanity problems

Wortox is character who will lose a lot of sanity due to souls consumption.
For sure he is the best in farming nightmare fuel, but if you want stay sane as this cute Imp, here are my tips:

Garland!
Only for early game. Flowers are better to leave for your soul farms. But Wortox looks so cute with these flowers!


Glommer
Fur into "fur"?
Will do the trick for some time.

Tent
Not recommended! Use only with tons of food, no souls to eat!

Find and setup your (main) base on Lunar Island
On Island, sanity is not a problem and having low sanity is there a good thing. Be sure to set up there flowers for butterflies soul farm, bees for honey and souls, farms to cook normal food, becuase on Isle your only problem is hunger. Recommended to have some some soul farms on main land nearby your port so you won't end up hungry. This is the best way, but you need to be prepared for sailing and you will gain sanity only on Moon land.










Obtain the Tam'o Shanter
Best sanity item in game!



Setup (main) base on Oasis
On desserts you can get cactus and when is cooked, will give you sanity. Really good source now and then.

Mostly this can be almost everyone, but your friend needs to be skilled. This tier list is only about what Wortox can offer second character and what can received and how good co-operation is.


S - (perfect co-operation) Webber / WickerBottom / Wigfrid / Wormwood / Maxwell

A - (amazing co-operation) WickerBottom / Wigfrid / Wolfgang / Warly / Maxwell / Wendy / Willow (only for pranks, hyuyu!)
