DualShock 4 Button Prompts

Guide to mod in DualShock 4 Button Prompts in ONINAKI.

Downloading the mod

Download the mod:
Download[drive.google.com]

Installing the mod

1. After downloading the zip file, extract it in your ONINAKI folder.
   Example C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ONINAKI
   
2. Make sure all files are extracted in that same folder, including buttonprompts_pc
   
3. Simply double click _install_prompts.bat
   
4. Done!

If you don't trust batch files or just want to do it manually:
Simply move the buttonprompts_pc file over to
-> ONINAKI\ONINAKI_Data\StreamingAssets\STEAM\ui\platform\pc

Uninstalling the mod

Just double-click _uninstall_prompts.bat or just rename the original file back if you did it manually.

OPTIONAL: Changing Touchpad button and fixing L2/R2

On PS4, the pause button (among other uses) is touchpad. However, the default controller config has this mapped to Share.
If you do not care about this, you're done. If you'd like to change this, read on.
Please note that if you do not change this, in game the share button will show the touchpad icon!

1. Connect controller and turn it on.
   
2. Right-click on ONINAKI in your Steam library and select Edit Steam Controller Configuration
   
3. Click on Browse Configs -> Community -> Select Gamepad With Touchpad Control
   
4. Apply config, done.

To fix the L2/R2 buttons not working, while running simply disable and then enable Playstation Configuration Support in:
Steam Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings

Hello idk if anyone will answer this question since it's been so long but I've followed the download instructions and it comes up with an error when I click _install_prompts.bat that says that buttonprompts_pc isn't in the same folder as all the other files. I tried manually transferring the buttonprompts_pc file to the assets but it still comes up with the same error. The only difference that I can see is that buttonprompts_pc isn't coming up as a windows batch file. I am on windows 11 if this makes a difference. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.

Doing it through Steam Settings only works with Big Picture Mode.

For the last step. It is better to do it this way:

- Plugged in the controller
- Then I opened steam in **big picture mode**.
- Selected with the controller to start the game.
- Then I started the game, while it is still running alt tab back to Steam's big picture mode.
- Go to settings -> controller options -> Disable PS4 support -> accept -> check if the controls do not work -> alt tab back to Steam's big picture mode -> Enable PS4 support.

Make sure nothing else is enabled but PS4 support.

For R2 pick the O button on your keyboard!
For R1 in case it doesn't work/doesn't fast forward stuff, pick the multi option method just like we did with the E and Space buttons before, but this time pick : I and X on your Keyboard!
Hit done and enjoy your game, these settings + Phi's settings will remain in to your game forever like this. That's what I did and now everything is working as it is supposed to!"

Okay, forget everything I said about L2/R2 not working and dash not working. Hear me out, everyone, this person did an amazing job on fixing the PS4 controller on Steam, be thankful. Here's how you can bind keys from your keyboard to the controller to make it 100% more accurate + Phi Zero's settings mod :
While you playing/before playing go to your library, right click on your game Oninaki, and select Manage > Controller Configuration. A window will pop up. In there, check the X button and click on that and a keyboard layout will come out, simply, hit the multi button option below in the center of your screen and pick buttons : E and Space > Hit okay and done read more if you are interested about L2/R2 and possibly R1 fixes :

Alright, did the L2/R2 method, didn't fixed it, and still not able to do the dash/dodge skill. The rest is 100% working perfectly! Thank you, for this, I will try to play like that and git gud without dodging. lol

Thank you so much for this! It absolutely and correctly works 100% on everything!!!! I have only one question, it seems I cannot make the dash skill work. I think it's skill 2? I am pressing literally everything and it doesn't work. I also am not sure but the L2 for switching gates is not working either. These two issues only. You literally fixed everything else for me. I can use O button to do the gale skill - thank you! - and I can talk and interact and save properly with X button! I can also attack with basic attack on Square! I can open the menu with no lags/faulty inputs with Options/Start button like a normal sane person!

I installed the .bat file in my game's folder EXACTLY as the guide was saying. Any chance to check up on dash/L2 buttons, please? I really have no idea where else they might be hahah
