it wont let me play now

I've seem to run into an issue: upon attempting to summon the Golden Gun, my game crashes. My character performs the animation, and the sound plays, however when the gun itself is supposed to appear my game hard crashes. I understand that this mod is over a year old and probably won't get updated any time soon but I thought i would say something anyway in hopes that there would be a better suggestion than simply uninstalling and re-installing the mod.
