1. Create a collection
You can use this link to create a collection:

This command will change the App ID. Please note that some Apps (753, 767,...) are blocked these days.
$J("input[name='consumer_app_id']")[0].value = 'X'

Here are a number of useful App IDs:

2. Add items to you collection
You will most likely now see something like this (especially if you used an app without workshop items):

Go to any item you want to add and execute the following command:
ShowAddToCollection( publishedfileid, $J("input[name='appid']")[0].value );

Note:
     You can only add items which share the same App ID as your collection

3. Result
This allows you to create collections like this one:

Potential issues
  • I can't create a guide for Steam (753)?
    Please note that Valve apparently disabled many of these apps a while ago. If you find a way to get around that, please let me know!

  • I want to add a YouTube video, but nothing happens?
    Try adding it in a browser or execute this script:
    $J("input[name='youtubeurl']")[0].value = "YouTube link"; $('PreviewFileYouTube').submit();

  • I can't find any item to add to my collection?
    You can also create two empty collection and add one to the other.
