Welcome Pilot!

This guide is here to help you get up and fighting straight away. You'll find setup instructions, mouse and keyboard controls (sorry no full support for controllers yet, and general gameplay tips.)

Setup and Activation

Once you've set up your login credentials and have your player profile set, us these instructions to help you set up and run Project Genesis:

STEP 1: ACTIVATING PROJECT GENESIS IN STEAM

1. Install & Launch STEAM: https://store.steampowered.com
   
2. Click ‘Games’ on the Header Menu
   
3. Click ‘Activate a Product on Steam’
   
4. Click ‘Next’ on the Product Activation Window
   
5. Click ‘I Agree’
   
6. Paste your Project Genesis Activation Code inside the Product Activation text field
   
7. Click Finish

STEP 2: UNLOCKING THE PRE-ALPHA BUILD

1. From the Games Library Right Click on ‘Project Genesis’
   
2. Click ‘Properties’
   
3. Click the ‘BETAS’ Tab
   
4. COPY/PASTE the Password (provided in your Welcome, Pilots email once you're accepted)
   
5. Click ‘Check Code’
   
6. Click the ‘Beta you would like to opt into’ Drop Down
   
7. Click ‘Pre-Alpha’
   
8. You will see ‘Project Genesis [community-test]’ in your Steam Games Library
   
9. Launch ‘Project Genesis’ once the install is Complete

Keyboard Controls

Project Genesis is currently set up to use a mouse and keyboard configuration. Because we are so early, we do not yet support controllers or joysticks. However, support for these types of controls is intended.

Gameplay and Objectives

Project Genesis is a team based multiplayer game. We still have a lot of development to do, so expect the current game mode to change significantly. However, the current implementation pits two teams against each other to breach and board their opponents' capital ship, complete the objectives, and fire off EMP detonators to destroy the vessel's maneuvering capability for final victory.

General Gameplay Instructions

In this TEST MODE, you join one of two teams battling to capture the enemy's AI and destroy their CAPITAL SHIP

First, your team must DISABLE THE ENEMY SHIELD by overwhelming it with massive damage (shoot it)

Use MIDDLE MOUSE to scan the enemy ship for BREACH POINTS

When GREEN, you are LOCKED, release middle mouse to launch BREACH POD

Once aboard, you may access either REACTOR CONTROL or SECURITY. Find the terminals there, and deactivate the locks.

You will CAPTURE THE AI in the BRIDGE, at the front of the ship (upstairs). and then PLANT BOMBS in the REACTOR ROOM (downstairs) to WIN the round.

• To LAUNCH BREACH PODS, your ship must be roughly facing the target
  
• Use F to TRANSFER to either a) an defending avatar on your capital ship or b) return to your last ship
  
• Your ship will warp in close to your team's capital ship. The enemy capital ship is across the map
  
• Ships have BOOST (Shift key) that draws energy from your shields to supply engines with extra power
  
• Ships have a SLIDE (Ctrl key) allows for special maneuvers
  
• Planting bombs is the final step. You must first capture the AI before the bombs can be planted
  
• The placement of your breach determines where you board the enemy ship
