Skullbagger 1: Darkwater
****IMPORTANT****: This achievement can only be acquired while sneaking around Darkwater. The skulls are not there when assaulting the fort. You must acquire them BEFORE you assault.
(If you accidentally start the assault, alt-tab and end the game process in Task Manager. The save will revert to just before the assault and you can still find the skulls.)

Skull 1:
The first skull is easy to find. From where you enter Darkwater, look to your left (south).

Hop the small fence and climb some boxes. The skull is on the ledge just above the boxes.

Skull 2:
This skull has a lot of enemies around and you will likely die to acquire it. From where you enter Darkwater, there is a small fence to the northwest.

Hop over the fence and look down (west) across the street. There you will see a fenced area with a flagpole marking the center of the fort. The base of the flagpole has a lot of knotwork engraving on it.

Jump down and run left (south) around the fence. The skull will be on the ground at the base of the flagpole.

Skull 3:
This skull can be acquired without dying if you spend some time sneaking between patrols. Or you can just jump a fence and grab it.
From where you enter Darkwater, turn right (south) and head down the hill. At the top of the hill, looking northwest will just show you the location of the skull.

Head down to the fence, being careful of the Legion soldier that hangs out in the area.
Hop the fence and run to the well. The skull is between the well and fence.

The other three skulls are easier to find based from the Darkwater Portal (aka. "the red glowing thing in the SW corner of the camp where you charge the Dragon Amulet".) To get there, start at the entrance and head south to where you found Skull 1. Take down the couple Legion there and find the ramp that goes over the gateway. Head west across this by sneaking behind the archers. There will be one Legion on the west side to drop and then you can climb the boxes to the circle.
Skull 4:
From the Portal, look northeast towards the center of camp.
The skull will be clearly visible in front of a small wall. Walking out to get it will anger a lot of Legion, so expect to be killed.

Skull 5:
From the Portal, head north along the west wall. Be careful crossing the gate as there will sometimes be Legion walking toward it. At the north end, there is a ramp leading down that will have a single archer guarding it. In the northwest, there are some boxes stacked in a 'J' shape.

Look in the middle of the J to find the skull.

Skull 6:
From where you found skull 5, look out into the area east.

There is a circular path around the building that a group of 3 Legion will patrol. Wait for them to start down the south end of the path. Slide north (left) to find the skull behind some boxes north of the building.
Skullbagger 2 (part 1): Holdenfort
****IMPORTANT****: As with the prior, this can only be obtained while sneaking around the fort. Once the assault is started, the skulls will not be there.

The nice thing about Holdenfort is that there's not many areas with heavy concentrations of enemies. The enemies also repopulate from the portal at the top of the hill. As long as you're not near it, a bit of chopping can easily replace sneaking. This also makes getting all of the gold much simpler.

Skull 1:
The southwest of Holdenfort has a gap that you can jump to get in stealthy. From just inside, look around the boxes to the north. There will be a Legion to the north, facing away from you, and with the skull on the ground next to him.

You can stealth kill him without alerting any guards nearby.

Skull 2:
The southeast of Holdenfort has a breach in the walls that you can just walk through. The path has a couple ramps down towards the water and on the pier you can see a stall with a green and red striped roof.

Walk around the left (west) of the stall and look east down behind it.

Skull 3:
After you brutally carve your way across the bridge (or sneak across below), the second building north of the lower bridge will have a sign on it similar to the brewery earlier on this island.

The skull can be found at the northwest corner of the building near the ramp.

Skull 4:
Either way you cross the river, make your way to the SE corner of the north bank. Look due north and you will see a market stall butted against the cliff face.

The skull can be found just behind (north of) the stall.

Skull 5:
This skull is found at northwest section of Holdenfort, north of the upper bridge. Find the well in the center of the area and look west towards the gallows where several Legion are gathered. There will be a break in the fence to your right (north).

Go through the break and make an immediate right (so you're facing east.) You should see the skull on the ground where the three fences meet.

Skull 6:
The last is found at the south end of the upper bridge. Make your way there by stealth or strength. Just south of the bridge end will be a small fence; the skull is hidden just behind (south) of it.
Skullbagger 2 (part 2): Caldberg
****IMPORTANT****: As with the prior, this can only be obtained while sneaking around the fort. Once the assault is started, the skulls will not be there.

Caldberg has several shamans about spawning new enemies as well as a portal at the top of the northwest tower. This means you'll have to be a bit more Ninja-Viking than Viking-Ninja this run; stealth and good path are a better bet than strength.

Skull 1:
Caldberg has only one access point: the convenient netting just north of the main gate. After scale over this paltry obstacle, look due west. That low fence in front of you has a skull behind it.

Just wander down, kill and Legion nearby, hop the fence and it is yours.

Skull 2:
I've seen a couple other guides suggest heading south from the entrance to get this skull, but I find the mass of enemies in the courtyard makes for a nasty fight. A much easier route is to start at where you picked up Skull 1. From there head due west into the middle of the castle. Head south down the massively over-large double set of stairs.

The main gate has archways paths on the north and south sides of the courtyard. These each have a path on top that runs from the wall (east) to a small tower (west.) The stairway shown above is just west of and between the two towers. The set of stairs going up (upper left) wrap around the southern tower. The second skull is found just south of those stairs and down one level.

Skull 3:
From Skull 2, head due east past the southern archway. This will give you access to the south end of the wall, conveniently avoiding the southen and central courtyards full of Legion. Follow the wall south to a covered archway (beware the Assassin hanging in it!) and go to the pier. On the east pier at the most south west point you can get to, look north.

The skull is just behind (north) of the first box on the right.

Skull 4:
From Skull 4, follow the pier north and to the west. When you're about at the middle (east/west), you will see a set of stairs leading straight north up to the next level. Follow these and make an immediate 180 at the top. To your right should be a Champion and a Shaman exhorting a bunch of Legion; slide left (east) to avoid them.

The skull is on the ground just south the Champion.

After finding Skull 4, slide northwest and up for a bit to find the Caldberg Leystone. This makes a good point for finding the final two skulls.

Skull 5:
From the Leystone, head east. There will be a big archway and some stairs leading up to the left (north). Head up the stairs.

At the second set of stairs, turn to your right and look back south. The skull will be behind a low wall just east of the top of the stairway.

Skull 6:
Back at the Leystone, head east again towards the archway. This time, go through east through the archway and look northeast.

The skull will be at the northeast end of the pathway.
Skullbagger 3: Thornvik
Unlike the other areas, there's only 4 skulls to find this time rather than six. Word has it that the skulls will be on the map after you assault Thornvik; however feedback comments say otherwise. Your choice!

Skull 1:
Head to the east entrance to Thornvik and jump across the columns of rock to skirt around the north end of the wall. Follow the wall southwest to the closed gateway.

Just beyond the gateway, the skull will be on your left between a stall and some stairs.

Skull 2:
From Skull 1, look west and you'll see a rickety fence of spiked logs. Circle around this to the south and follow it back north.

Skull 2 is very near Skull 1, just on the west side of the fence.

Skull 3:
The third skull is found on the north side of the city. From the bridge where you cross the lava, face west-northwest and you can just see the skull at the bas of the west wall.

There's only a few enemies to slow you from walking over and picking it up.

Skull 4:
From the bridge where you cross the lava, there is a large tower to the north.

Circle around to the west side of the tower and you'll have the final skull.

Cheers and hope this helped!

I have set all screenshots to Private and back to Public. Please let me know if that does not fix it.
I have also fixed the broken link for the Caldberg Skull 6 Map. Thank you for the screenshot Perish.
