Split screen with multiple keyboards, mice and controllers

Universal Split Screen tutorial for Terraria split screen with multiple keyboards, mice and controllers.
Only needs 1 game copy.

Terraria setup

1. Open the Terraria directory by right-clicking Terraria in Steam -> Properties -> Local files -> Browse game files...
   
   
2. Launch Terraria.exe as many times as you need. Make sure they are running in Windowed mode (see video options). Resize the windows however you like.
   
   
3. On one instance, use Multiplayer -> Host & Play. On the other instances, go to Multiplayer -> Join via IP. Enter localhost as IP and 7777 as the port.

Tips before you start

1. If you have inconsistent mouse movement, especially when moving multiple mice, make sure the polling rates on your mice are set as low as possible. You can usually set this in your mouse configuration program (look on the manufacturer's website).
   
   
2. Disable steam overlay by right-clicking Terraria in Steam -> Properties and un-check 'Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game'
   
   
3. Make sure to not use the same character in two instances, as it may break your save.

Split screen setup

1. Download Universal Split Screen from the website[universalsplitscreen.github.io]. Extract the zip and run UniversalSplitScreen.exe
   
   
2. In options, load the Terraria preset.
   
   
3. Go back to the Current window tab. Alt+tab into the first instance. Set the mouse and keyboard or controller. Repeat for the other instances.
   
   
4. Click Start split screen. You should now be able to play. Press End to stop.

I keep having this problem where when I try to host and play, itl'll quickly flash the, " starting server" line, and will then stay found server, and just sit there- not freeze, just sit there. there is no administrator popup like in the video. what do I do?

I'm having this problem were when i try to do split screen Terraria, my mouse gets restricted to a smaller area... btw i'm running with a 4K monitor and i am doing 1 mouse and keyboard and 1 controller when doing this. Anyway to fix this?
