Saints Row 3 and 4 Freezing Fix

To fix Saints Row 3 and 4 freezing up every couple seconds, add

127.0.0.1 sr3.hydra.agoragames.com
208.67.222.222 sr3.hydra.agoragames.com

to your hosts file. You can use WIN + R and write or paste

notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

this will open the hosts file for you in notepad, add the 2 lines at the bottom.

You only need this one line (and may as well use 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1):

0.0.0.0 sr3.hydra.agoragames.com


There's no need for this second line:

"208.67.222.222 sr3.hydra.agoragames.com"

I don't see why that was added. It just adds another entry pointing the sr3 server to an opendns server.. why?

0.0.0.0 is usually a better choice than 127.0.0.1 - the former makes it an unreachable address, the latter sends the traffic to your localhost (your PC). Both work, but 0.0.0.0 is cleaner.

Nice fix though, after adding this to my hosts file the stuttering and freezing stopped, runs smooth on Linux native now.

Did everything I could and this doesn't help at all, still stuttering. Only way to fix it is to go steam offline mode which sucks big time :/

for everyone who still experiences freezes, and you are running the game on windows 10, go to the game's .exe properties and try checking "Disable Fullscreen Optimizations" under the Compatibility tab
