Opening Ceremony

It's not everyday that you'd see someone bringing something conspicuously large and expectedly loud for a dodge setup. Well, today is that day. Enter the Iron Reign.

Powerful, evasive, unexpected. This setup serves to show the true meaning behind the ability to stretch the limits of strong firepower to be further more deadly.

Just to get a few things out of the way, you'll be equipping the Two-Piece Suit as armor, the Doctor Bag equipment, dynamites for throwables, and either an electrical or poisonous melee.

Being a specially-tailored dodge setup, by default and all means, the Two-Piece Suit is required for this to work efficiently. It provides the most concealment, dodge chance, and speed. It's also your starting armor. This suit also lets you go stealthing, with the bare-minimum pair-up: quiet weapons.

"The Doctor Bags are the backbone of any loud build." That should be heard all around the heisting universe. It keeps you and your gangs in the game. Remember, if you're seeing gray, that's the best time to use them.

The reason why I specifically choose the dynamites is because it can't be shot mid-air. All HE throwables, except this one, has been known to have been shot right in front of heisters as they threw them, causing nasty unneeded self-damage. It also doesn't roll as much.

And finally, but most importantly: the melee, for any reason, must be to stun on use; there is no reason for you to focus on using the melee as the main weapon. That's your LMG's job.

That said, let's shoot into the bloody meat.
Clouds of Lead
The Iron Gauntlet

You won't be needing six stones for this one, but you do need six mods.

Your primary weapon of choice is the RPK LMG. Being an LMG, you'd be aware that it's big, loud, and provides suppressive fire; just like any other LMG. So why do I pick this one? Because it can be modified to be the most concealed LMG. Ironic, but it's true.

All brand-new LMGs come with a concealment of 1. Through modding with the focus of concealment, all other LMGs do not come close to what this one can provide, especially for this setup.

In ascending order, these LMGs provide the total amount of concealment:
  1. Buzzsaw 42: 3
  2. KSP: 4
  3. KSP 58: 5
  4. Brenner-21: 6
  5. RPK: 8

Firstly, yes, that isn't a lot of concealment, compared to the superior godly stealth weapon CAR-4 AR, with a whooping 32. Secondly, but more importantly, how is 8 enough? Just enough to allow this setup to hold a low concealment rate of 23%. This is important, keep this in mind.

Now, to mod your RPK to hold a concealment of 8, you will need the following mods:
  • Barrel Ext: Medium Suppressor
  • Boost: Concealment (+1)
  • Foregrip: Tactical Foregrip
  • Gadget: Compact Laser Module
  • Grip: AK Rubber Grip
  • Stock: Folding Stock

The Compact Laser Module doesn't increase concealment, but it helps since LMGs don't have a proper ADS (Aim-Down-Sight). Also, the other gadgets decrease concealment instead.

The Lion Bipod is also a nice mod to add, but its use is situational. However, no reason not to add it.

The Supportive Underdog

You'll never pull this out, but you NEED it.

Just as a support assists a carry, so the Bernetti 9 pistol assists the RPK LMG. It won't do much, but that little bit means a lot.

But if you're not firing it, why bring it? Because it is the only secondary which synergises with the main gun to bring that 23% detection rate. After modding with the focus of concealment, it holds a concealment of 34. It also spits on the the CAR-4.

If you're not already aware, your detection rate is dictated by the concealment of your weapons and armor. The formula works like this: 91 total concealment is 75% detection rate, with up to 119 total concealment being 3% detection rate. More concealment means less detection rate.

In this case, the RPK LMG, the Bernetti 9 pistol, an electrical or poisoned melee, and the Two-Piece Suit, bring separate concealments of 8, 34, 32, and 31, respectively, totalling to 105, which gives 23% detection rate.

Anyway, if you feel bad about not firing this pistol, you can go ahead and let it shoot some. It won't do much, but you'll probably make it feel better.

Now, to mod your Bernetti 9 to hold a concealment of 34, you will need the following mods:
  • Barrel Ext: Champion's Suppressor
  • Boost: Concealment (+3)

You could also add the following mods to dress it up better:
  • Gadget: Micro Laser
  • Grip: Engraved Bernetti Grips
  • Lower Receiver: Custom Titanium Frame
  • Sight: Marksman Sight
  • Upper Receiver: The Elite Slide
To Impress, To Oppress
Perk Deck: Rogue

"Maybe I won't last long, but you'll definitely last shorter."

The main buff here is, obviously, the bonus dodge chance. Not will you be less likely to be hit, but you'll also be less likely to be targeted when near your crewmates. However, the key attribute is being able to penetrate armor 25% of the time. That's already better than no chance at all, because you're wielding the LMG and, sometimes, your bullets may go a bit too low and into their body armor. This increases the chances of preventing damage waste on targets. This doesn't mean you can shoot through shields, though.

The reason I picked this perk deck is due to the fact that this setup is meant to be played aggressively. Get up in your enemies' faces very often; a run and gun playstyle. It can prove useful in teamwork, as you'll become the main gunner, and a very strong one with the following skills.

Skill Tree: Mastermind

  • Combat Medic: Basic
  • Quick Fix: Aced
  • Combat Doctor: Aced
  • Inspire: Aced
  • Stable Shot: Aced

With the acquired Medic subtree, it's all you need to be a good foundation for your team; a couple bags of life replenishers and an inspiring voice to bring up those who are down. Combat Medic Basic provides damage reduction while reviving a crewmate and for a short time after as well. Quick Fix Aced lets you deploy your Doctor Bags faster and supplies damage reduction, for a couple minutes, to anyone using them. Combat Doctor Aced quadruples your medical supplies. Inspire Aced lets you shout inspirational quotes to your crewmates, giving them movement and reload speed bonuses for a short time & gets them back up on their feet when they are down.

Stable Shot Aced, from the Sharpshooter subtree, is necessary for your messy LMG, as both accuracy and stability are very important.

Skill Tree: Enforcer

  • Underdog: Basic
  • Resilience: Aced
  • Bullseye: Basic
  • Scavenger: Basic

Though not having a shotgun, under the Shotgunner subtree, Underdog Basic is a no-brainer when you're going to be swarmed often; every bit of bonus damage helps.

In the Tank subtree, Resilience Aced is a must, since flashbangs are going to be inevitable, and Bullseye Basic is enough to keep you going in battle, so long you can keep those helmets flying.

Scavenger will be your Ammo Specialist subtree skill; where you're going, you're going to need all that ammo from the fallen ones to make more fall. In fact, you should have near-zero issues with ammo using this setup. If you find yourself needing an ammo bag, you need better aim.

Skill Tree: Technician

  • Steady Grip: Aced
  • Fire Control: Aced

With both skills coming from the Oppressor subtree, Steady Grip Aced & Fire Control Aced are your LMG's best friends. So very good friends, that the LMG doesn't even need to be aimed down the sights any longer and can be as accurate as you hip-fire, which is VERY accurate for an LMG. Run and gun, pal. You don't need to sprint and gun, trust me. Lock N' Load Basic is very situational.

Skill Tree: Ghost

  • Duck and Cover: Aced
  • Parkour: Aced
  • Inner Pockets: Basic
  • Shockproof: Aced
  • Sneaky Bastard: Aced
  • Second Wind: Basic
  • Optical Illusions: Aced
  • The Professional: Aced
  • Low Blow: Aced

In the Artful Dodger subtree, Duck and Cover Aced is a default skill to obtain for many setups. Parkour Aced provides the speed needed to get in and out of battle faster, and being able to reload while sprinting means you can just dodge damage as you refill the LMG. Inner Pockets Basic simply provides extra concealment. Shockproof Aced is simply a backup plan, in case you didn't kill any Taser outright; it'll prevent you from wasting too much ammo when being tased.

In the Silent Killer subtree, Second Wind Basic, in practical use, is just to allow use of the higher tier skills, but it's nonetheless useful; you'll gain a speed boost when your armor breaks, do as you please with this boost. Optical Illusions Aced, in essence, makes you more evasive and concealed; peripherally, it increases your concealment due to the use of specific suppressors on your primary and secondary weapons. The Professional Aced makes suppressed weapons more accurate & stable, meaning the concealed RPK now has superior precision; that's three sets of accuracy and stability buffs in total, one from Mastermind, another from Technician, and a final one from Ghost. You also snap to zoom faster.

Remember when I told you about that low 23% detection rate? This is where it comes in. Both Sneaky Bastard Aced & Low Blow Aced become completely efficient when your detection rate is below 25%. At full synergy, Sneaky Bastard Aced provides 10% more dodge chance, while Low Blow Aced hands out a 30% critical hit chance; the powerful LMG, now brought further beyond.

Skill Tree: Fugitive

  • Nine Lives: Aced
  • Swan Song: Aced
  • Martial Arts: Basic

Both Nine Lives Aced & Swan Song Aced, from the Revenant subtree, increase your longevity. Nine Lives Aced basically gives you an extra life, and Swan Song Aced lets you unleash the iron from your blood to use as ammo, when you're about to lose a life.

Lastly, from the Brawler subtree, Martial Arts Basic halves the damage received from melee attacks. Because of training.
Closing in with Silent Hell

You'll find power here. It may not be as precise as the KSP, but it deals a lot of damage.

To mix it all together now, the weapons, suit, skills, and perk deck, you will become a damrammer, a heister to surpass any Bulldozer, including a Minigun Dozer. With a base damage of 123.9, after modding, your critical hits double that to 247.8, and your critical headshots on Bulldozers multiply that to a powerful 1858.5; all this on a per shot basis. Assuming you got real lucky, you'd finish him off, on Death Sentence, with a mere 26 bullets, barely anything in your magazine, let alone your total ammo. A Minigun Dozer, on Death Sentence, has 48,000 HP.

Aside from the dams, most other enemies would simply fall the moment you shoot their heads, and Cloakers & Tasers would fall after 2-3 headshots. You are THAT powerful with this setup; you will easily sweep the battlefield clean, but bloody.

With the combination of a lot of dodge, a fair chance of crits, and the damage and ammo output of an LMG, you will reign, with the RPK as your rein, as you rain lead over your enemies, with an iron fist.

Thank you for reading!

Don't forget about the Bernetti 9, though. It's helping.

It actaully works really well on DS/OD, the only problem i've encountered is ammo shortage, but that isn't a major issue :)

As with every build, do as you please. But if you want it to work the way it is, well, that's just that.

That's some cool writing, Shields will get to have some fun though, and not sure about forcing to rely only on an LMG, not something I find particularly fun.
