How to beat Secret Mission 3 as Nero as soon as you encounter it (without Hold) (Devil Hunter difficulty)

They all said it was (near) impossible, but I'm here to show you the surefire way to victory! (featuring the crunchiest gifs to fit under steam's 2MB limit)

Step 1: that's me in the corner :)

As soon as you begin, make a mad dash for the L-shaped corridor located in the southeast corner of the room. The scarecrows will never follow you in here and the frost should follow soon after.

keep yourself wedged in that corner as much as you can, it's the best spot in the room

Step 2: trickster in training (neutral jump has iframes)

if we ever want to get our style rank up then we're gonna have to dodge some attacks, how do we do that? jump

remember this, don't ever forget that Neutral Jump does indeed Have iFrames

just jump

watch the Frost closely, look for repetitive attack patterns, this jump attack specifically is very easy to learn at this camera angle





be wary of this charged up attack the Frost can perform, the shattering ice can easily knock off a large chunk of your health bar

Step 3: don't get door ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (important)

wanna know why it's so important we don't move out of that exact corner? well for some reason they decided both style/bringer and jump can activate doors in this game, and if you get to close and need to dodge...

Step 4: shall we dance?

dodging is all good and fun, but it's nowhere near stylish enough to get that pathetic D rank up to a C!

as soon as you can see your style gauge on the screen, grapple and taunt the enemy

this leaves it on the ground for a while, giving us plenty of time to taunt without running too big a risk of getting hit

doing this will tire your taunt style boost out, so don't do it again until you're sure it's recovered
if this isn't enough to get that C rank (and most of the time it won't be), don't worry, just keep dodging until you can taunt again

eventually...

if you keep dodging, don't get door ♥♥♥♥♥♥, and get out 1 or 2 grapple+taunts without losing your style gauge, then that should be enough to get that sweet sweet C rank.

just watch the cutscene and go pick up your uh...red orb?
