To do damage to a green slime you always have to hit the smile with a weapon of some sort

ever since update 1.3.0.1 green slimes have been able to carry items inside of them like [iron ores,rope,torches etc]

greens slimes use to sink under water and get stuck but thanks to update 1.0.6.1 they know swim and are able to go across water easy.

jumping on the green slime [mario style] dose NOT work but it dose if you have something equipped like the slimy saddle.
