How To Install And Play Mods

A guide on installing and playing doom mods.

Install GZDoom

This program allows you to easily and efficiently play Doom mods.

Install v4.6.0

Extract GZDoom

Extract GZDoom into folder of your choice

Find Doom Directory And Move .WAD File

Go to where your Doom is installed open up the "base" folder then you will see a "DOOM2.WAD" move this into where you have your GZDoom installed.

Install Mod Of Choice

Install a mod of your choice (I am using brutal Doom as an example) and drag it into your GZDoom install directory

Drag Both The Doom2.wad file and the mod into GZDoom.exe

When you have both the mod and Doom2.wad file in the folder hold CTRL then click both the Doom.wad file and the mod of your choice then drag it into GZDoom.exe

That's it!

If you have installed correctly you should have launched the game with the mod working properly

i have the gog DOOM Plus DOOM II Definitive and Enhanced edition and i only see one doom.wad ?

so i keep getting directed to github for ace core lib i need it for another mod for hideos destructor. however i think its supposed to be i na pack file or something.

i went to get the doom2.wad file and there's no folder labled as it shows in the guide i am using windows 11 and am unsure if im suppost to put the file named "doom2" into the mod Folder

Has ANYONE managed to put the Brutal Black Edition on any of the Wad Game files whether it’s Doom 1 or 2?
