Complete list and screenshots of all essence (and some missable motes) in the game

Introduction

This guide includes all of the essences (and screenshots of them) that are found in game. If an essence requires a specific character to access, that character will be shown in the screenshot. Otherwise, it will show Bitey (the character you first start with.)

The guide will be divided into chapter sections, then by stage. The number in parenthesis shows the total amount of essences found in each stage.

This guide assumes that you have unlocked all characters in the story and following mote trails. In order to change characters at a checkpoint, press D on the keyboard. To switch between the current characters, press S. You can activate the special skill of the character by pressing F (for Glidey(Bat) to glide, just hit SPACE while in air).

If there are any missable motes, they are noted on each stage near the essences before progressing.

Due to spoilers, it's recommended to read this guide once you complete the game.
