Achivement Guide: Halloween Event

A guide to show the community a way to unlock the achivements of the halloween event.

Introduction

Hi, i hope you'll find this helpful to unlock your precious achivements. I made a handmade map with a tool named HelliosPaint. The map is not 100% accurate, the locations of the items may vary few centimeters or even a bit more.

Besides that i've used the guide myself to unlock the Floating Pumpkin achivement, so it works. Sadly i already have the achivement of picking of all the candies so cant test it for my own. But ill appreciate any feedback you can provide and confirm if it works too for the candies.

Well, this first of all, lets talk about this mode, you start on a cementery without knowing what to do. The objective is very simple: Get 2000 Candies to open the exit. How can you get Candies? Killing enemies ofcourse.

The key to survive is explore the map and get many ammo as you can, get the timers and finish the enemies with the knife to get some precious seconds.

The map

Notes:

-Barrier 1: Need 500 Candies to open it.
-Barrier 2: Need 1000 Candies to open it.
-Barrier 3: Need 2000 Candies to open it.
-Items inside the tombs are not inside barrels.
-Could i forgot something, keep that on mind. If you find a barrel or item not listed, post it on the comments with the location and i will update the map.
-The healing item on the middle of the map is inside a small create, not a Barrel.
-VERY IMPORTANT: Ending the mission is beat the level entering in the exit portal. Running out of time is not a success and not count for some achivements like: Witch, Nightmare Over or Happy Halloween.

Tips:

-Tip 1: Go straight to the Time Bubbles and pick all the ammo you find on your way.
-Tip 2: You could try do few of the achivements on the same run, but that it would complicate your life unnecessarily.
-Tip 3: Enemy behaviour is different from the main game, they need to literally touch you very closely to grap you
-Tip 4: The Ghost roaming around cant damage you, just stun you for a second.
-Tip 5: Knife kills grant time, Witch stick not.
-Tip 6: Before trying anything i suggest you play a couple of rounds just for fun to get used to the difficulty and the map.
-Tip 7: The closest pistol ammo near the Barrier 3 is not inside a barrel.
-Tip 8: Shoot 4 - 5 times on the head to a normal zombie and after that knife him 3 - 4 times. He dies and you got some time.
-Tip 9: Shoot 6 - 7 times on the head to a fat zombie and after that knife him 3 - 5 times. He dies and you got some time.
-Tip 10: As the main game, save many ammo as you can.
-Tip 11: Here, the knife is very useful.
-Tip 12: Use the knife to save many ammo as you can.

Collectibles and Happy Halloween

Just take a look of the map, steam overlay is your friend while you playing games.

Tips:

-Tip 1: Focus on get all the timers first.
-Tip 2: There is no need to finish the map while you doing Jack o Laffer it triggers once you destroy them all
-Tip 3: You can shoot the pumpkin on the exit areafrom outside
-Tip 4: For: Gotta Collect 'Em All you need to finish the map cause the last candie is on the exit area.
-Tip 5: Doing them in two different runs will make your life easier.
-Tip 6: You need to get into the exit area to get all the candies. Once you get them just enter on the exit portal and you'll get the Happy Halloween achivement.
-Tip 7: Remember, you need 2000 points to open the barrier number 3º.
-Tip 8: If you press ESC or while you are on the inventory the game is paused. Pause the game while you check the map.

Witch

Hit, Retreat, Advance, Repeat, Profit.

Tips

-Tip 1: Get all the timers.
-Tip 2: Once you achiv 500 candies get the witch stick.
-Tip 3: You have the beat the level to get the achivement.
-Tip 4: Not shoot anything with your pistol.
-Tip 5: Beware, the speed of the zombies may vary.

Happy jack

Go near BARRIER 2 and just spin with an enemy around the circle.

Tips:

-Tip 1: Get all the timers.
-Tip 2: Get many pistol ammo as you can.
-Tip 3: Try use a FAT zombie cause have a bigger hitbox.
-Tip 4: if you have a few of enemies following you, just kill them all except one. Then start to spin.
-Tip 5: Wait a second between shots for optimizing your ammo.

Nightmare Over

What could be better than one of the main developers showing off how to do it. A special thanks for Unforgiven.

Tips:

-Tip 1: Optimize your time. Use the inventory to reload your weapons.
-Tip 2: Try not waste ammo, aim to the head and try no miss the shoot.
-Tip 3: Using the graves or corners is your best bet to make them stop chasing you for a second and give you some time to aim and shoot.
-TIp 4: Spining around some graves could be useful to make them stop or fall back few steps. But this not work all the times.
-Tip 5: To get 5 Stars you need at least 60000 Points.
-Tip 6: Ending the mission add points and extra time. (why adding time after finish the map is out of my understanding)
-Tip 7: The best thing you can do is arrive to 3000 points and if you have at least 5 minutes on the timer is go to the exit. That should grant you the 5 stars. But if you wanna be sure try get 3400 points and 5 min and 30 seconds on the timer.
-Tip 8: For get time with normal zombies shoot them 4-5 times on the head and then use the knife.
-Tip 9: For get time with fat zombies shoot them 7-8 times on the head and then use the knife
-Tip 10: If you have a shotgun you can kill a fat zombie shooting on the head with one shot and 3 hits of knife. That would add time too.
-Tip 11: Adding time is the key.
-Tip 12: Zombie puke have a weird area of effect, not get closer until they finish the animation.
-Tip 13: If you wanna kill zombies just fat for get coins faster, use the shotgun on the normal ones. They die in one shot if you aim properly, but this not gonna grant you extra time.

You don' t scary me

This could be hard, you have to aim properly and use your ammo wisdomly. Need to be done in one playthough, so be ready for killi everybody fast as you can.

Tips:

-Tip1: Using the inventory for reload your weapons is mandatory
-TIp2: Use the knife to get some precious seconds, use it to kill them after shooting them 5 or 6 bullets.
-Tip3: Once you got the shotgun focus on the thin Zombies, the fat ones need two slugs to die.
-Tip4: Once you got the shotgun be sure you have enough time cause one-shooting the thin zombies no grants extra time but speed the thing a bit.
-Tip5: Somewhere near the Start Zone there is a Police Zombie spawn. He drops ammo most of the times. Use the shotgun if you can for a quick dispatch. (not spawns all the times)
-Tip6: Do not pick up the Witch Staff!
-Tip7: There is no need to finish the map. Dont worry if you not have enough time to arrive to the exit.
-Tip8: Master the knife trick to get time is strong recommended. (Same trick as Witch achivement)
-Tip9: Try kill the fat zombies with the knife once you shoot them with the shotgun on the head. This takes 3 cuts with the knife.
-Tip10: Use the inventory for assing slots for the pistol and shotgun. This helps to switch weapon faster.

Oh hell yeah, definitely keep it up! I used this around the time you wrote it to complete the event. This is a piece of history now lol! This guide was awesome BTW, just wish we could use it in the current version.

If they achivements are gone then. Probably is just for "FUN". Didnt know they removed the achivements btw. But i will keep the guide up anyway just for the memories i've got making it.

Is this still relevant? I had been playing this game since early conception, and had gotten these achievements back when they first released this mini-game before the full game release. But these achievements are gone off my list, and looking into the hidden achievements, I can't find any pertaining to the Halloween Mini-Game (you can find a list of the hidden Achievements online). Just curious if it's worth grinding that mini game again, or if there's no reward other than a romping good time.
