Intro
Thanks for all the views and favorites, it means a lot.
This guide is for anyone who struggles to complete the game-read this you will finish with a high score and without going into debt.

Note: this will be simple and may not be the best way to explore the game mechanics but I just finished a game final score of 68 Million and I had 1.2 Billion in cash, with a full staff and #1 at every game conference.
Part 1: Specialize
Step 1: Specialize
Focus on developing 1 genre only
95 of my 102 games were Action (or later Action Adventure)
Part 2: Think Small
Step 2: Think Small

I used only 3 topics for 90% of the game.

Aliens
Sci-Fi
Medieval
Step 3: Focus
Step 3: If you focus on Action only you only need Engine elements for that genre so dont waste your cash.

When you research focus on these areas for action games
These elements are:
ENGINE
GAMEPLAY
LEVEL DESIGN
ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE
GRAPHICS
SOUND

so ignore and dont waste money on upgrades for
STORY/QUESTS
DIALOGUES
WORLD DESIGN

Step 4: Development
Step 4: Focus on Platforms that wont disapear too quickly, develop 90% for PC only,
it may lose some market share but it NEVER GOES AWAY.

Later in the game when you have a boatload of cash (and you will) you can invest in MBoxNext, Playsystem5, etc but PC will be there forever.
Examples
So in review here is how a normal game went for me (and ended me with a billion cash)
Sci-Fi Action
PC Platform
Rated E for Everyone
Maxed stats for
ENGINE
GAMEPLAY
LEVEL DESIGN
ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE
GRAPHICS
SOUND
-----------------------------------------------------
Aliens Action
PC Platform
Rated E for Everyone
Maxed stats for
ENGINE
GAMEPLAY
LEVEL DESIGN
ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE
GRAPHICS
SOUND
--------------------------------------------------------
Medevil Action
PC Platform
Rated E for Everyone
Maxed stats for
ENGINE
GAMEPLAY
LEVEL DESIGN
ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE
GRAPHICS
SOUND
------------------------------------------------------
Then I would start again with Sci-Fi, very simple way to focus resources
In Review:
Focusing on only 3 sets means you can save your cash for marketing, research, game conferences and training for your employees

Again this is a simple guide for a simple way to win, as you play this you will learn what else to do to maximize fans and maketing, both pretty self-explanitory when you have 20+ million, BIGGER GAMES MORE FANS MORE MARKETING NEEDED

This wont get you 10/10 reviews every time but it works and you will never borrow money or even come close to running out.

Keep it simple and you will win with 900 Million+

I don't think this guide works anymore. I followed the same game formula as you did for a medieval action game and only got ~ 6.5 average score.

im pretty sure some of those genres also go well with M and PC goes better with M than E so I might want to do that instead.

I guess this is Greenheart trying to make the tycoon genre of their own realistic (as they all intend to be). Valve is famous for their first-person shooters, Nintendo is famous for their platformers (at least with Mario and Zelda) and Scott Cawthorn is famous for his horror games (as proven through his Five Nights at Freddy's series), so I might have to try that out.

But you get bad reviews because the game isn't inovative.... And so this isn't a way to victory

@Michael sadly, that's how the game industry works now

So basically you don't innovate. Sounds familiar!
