I decided to make a guide with all the fixes released by the community.

Pretty much a handy guide with fixes for everything that 2K didn't fix properly, even with the latest patch.

All credits go to the respective creators! I added the mods in the guide, leave the modders a thank you!

GUI, HUD, Subtitle fixes:
Download: https://www.nexusmods.com/bioshock/mods/5

This fixes the weirdly placed HUD elements and also improves the placement of others. Subtitles were also improved.

Video audio quality fixes:
Download: https://www.nexusmods.com/bioshock/mods/4

The new Remastered version has really weird Video audio quality. Using this mod fixes the horrible sound and compression of it.

BioShock Tweaker Tool (Hidden Settings):
Download: https://www.nexusmods.com/bioshock/mods/1

New Download:
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1398-bioshock-tweaker/

Run the BioShockTweaker.exe and adjust all settings to your liking, make sure that the tool is reading and modifying the right ini. If you have several BioShock games installed, it can mess up! I recommend to activate all options except global lighting. Global lighting actually simplifies the lights and reduces their quality. Also make sure you have run the game at least once and adjusted all available ingame settings to your liking! This tool only works once the settings files have been created and for this you need to run it once. Also some of the settings reset if you change them ingame, so only use this tool after you are done with all ingame settings. The EAX option has no effect on the Remastered version since EAX was removed and right now CANNOT be restored. Only downside of the Remaster.

After that you should be good to go. Already inside the main menu, you should notice a real audio quality improvement from the video playing in the menu background. Before it sounded really bad and compressed.

And as a sidenote: If you use any sort of SURROUND audio setting, change your Windows audio driver output to 48000khz! If not you might have missing sounds.

NOTE: Originally this was a merged patch made by me but I changed it so it only represents the downloads (3 Mods). I found it unnecessary to make a extra merge for these few mods, especially since installation is also as easy as possible. I also remade the whole guide. If there are any questions or problems post them in the comments and I might see if I can help.

Dumb question, but can someone please tell me how to change the ini path for Bioshock Tweaker? As OP mentioned, "Make sure that the tool is reading and modifying the right ini. If you have several BioShock games installed, it can mess up." I just played Bioshock 1 Remastered using the Tweaker, and now I'm moving on to Bioshock 2 Remastered. However, I can't figure out how to switch the ini file from 1 to 2.

When I click the "Settings" button of the Tweaker interface, I see the paths to the Bioshock 1 HD ini and User files. However, I can't type in or click to open the paths to the Bioshock 2 HD ini and User files. The only options I see are "Back Up" and "Restore," both of which appear to apply only to the Bioshock 1 HD paths already listed?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oh wow. I wish I never knew this is a thing. The new "quality of life" update is a joke! Definitely not playing this new Steam version anymore. Hope it will either be pulled back, which I doubt or Steam offers a way to install the old original version without the launcher. What a typical 2K anti consumer move...

I basically couldn't decide since the monitor is my laptop's. Anyway, feels very smooth, but as you said, clearly not practicable for any game

Yeah, I recommend a Gsync / Freesync monitor. Wouldn't want to go back to Vsync times anymore... You would think your 360hz monitor would have this. Totally overkill anyway since barely any engines can run properly at such framerates. Not really worth it to buy anything above 144hz unless you need that competitive edge and even then many competitive PC games do not support such high framerates and top out at 200.

Vsync is trash

Yeah but my monitor is 360hz

thats what v sync does it locks the fps to your the refresh rate you have set for your monitor
