MK 11 - Sacrifice a button (or don't) on your fight stick to use konsumables
By Roamin
This guide shows you a way to use a button on your fight stick so that you can use konsumables in Mortal Kombat 11. As of right now , there is no way to use konsumables during a fight using most fight sticks because they simply don't have a right analog stick. This guide will show a way remap one of your button so that while you are holding it, the D-Pad becomes the right analog stick.

What controller type does it support?
I can't say for sure exactly what controllers this tool supports, but it definitely supports all 360 and Xbox One controller variants, Dualshock 3 & 4 , Nintendo Switch JoyCons, and most likely a lot more. I don't have other controllers but Microsoft or Sony ones to test.
What does this do?
Once you have setup your controller this way, you will be able to use konsumables during fights in MK11 without having a right analog stick on your fight stick.

-Remap a key (throw or stance are good candidates) so that when it is held down, the D-Pad becomes the Right Analog stick.
-You can easily hold the key tap the direction of the konsumable and release.
-The key that is pressed also acts as Right Analog Click (optional).
Tool needed
It only requires one tool, and it's reWASD. Unfortunately this tool isn't free. I know there are numerous other tools out there, but none of them gave me the flexibility that reWASD gave me. Not only it isn't free, but its cost is fragmented, depending on what you want to use it for. Luckily there's a trial for each feature and you have 3 days to try them. Getting all the features will cost you 22$ CDN, which isn't really all that bad.

Grab the trial from their homepage : https://www.rewasd.com
How to setup reWASD
** If a feature is missing from reWASD , click on it and then on try. It will unlock for 3 days.

First click on the menu in the top right and select ADD and create a new controller profile.

Click on the "Shift 1" button

Now press the key that you want to change. In this example I used LT because it is Flip Stance and I rarely ever use it to flip stance. I only use it for fatal blow, but I can press both kicks at once to do that. When the menu pops up , select "Use as Shift Modifier"

Now press the direction on the D-Pad that you first want to assign. In the example I press Left. In the reWASD mapping scroll down menu , select "Right Stick Left". Under "Map D-Pad to" also select "Unmap"

Go ahead and repeat and remap the remaining 3 directions to their proper Right Stick counterparts. In this picture all the directions are mapped.

Now click on the "Main Configuration" button.

Now you can decide if you want LT to be Flip Stance , Character Assist or both. Press the button that you used as the Shift Modifier earlier (LT in example) and in this reWASD Mapping scroll down menu choose "Right Stick Click". This will let you use the button as the "Character Assist" button , which is used in the towers for the Tag Team matches. If you leave it there , the button now does Character Assist , but still does Flip Stance. If you want to remove Flip Stance from the button , choose Unmap.

Note that you can most likely leave both on at the same time. You really have to hold down the button before pressing a direction for it to work. If you are already moving and press the button , it will not change the direction of the D-Pad to the Right Stick as you are moving. LT must first be held , then direction pushed.

Another side effect would be during a tag team match , changing stance would swap your character. (I haven't seen tag team matches yet.) Unmapping the button would make sure nothing weird happens.

This sounds like a nice hack, but I'd personally rather try a hardware solution to the problem. I'm looking to replace my Hitbox PCB with one that has RS button mapping and then add 4 small buttons to the box. Haven't found that PCB yet, though.
