How to beat the Kraken WITHOUT the golden barrel spear gun

Oh you know you are fcked when you are somehow out of spears for whatever reason (like not knowing you can press C to go first person and shoot at the Kraken), but its actually possible to beat the Kraken without shooting a single spear at it or its spawns.

When you get close to the Kraken, it will blow you away from it so that you wont be able to plant the explosives, but if 5 or 6 of its spawns grab you, the Kraken will not push you away as it will try to grab you and eat you if you get way too close which is beyond the 4 pillars that you need to destroy.

The plan is:

-To get grabbed by the spawns, but not too many of them.
-Then resist a bit before you get close to the pillars and plant the explosives, so that they will explode (some of them) before the planted explosives do or the Kraken gets you.
-Dont get grabbed when your oxygen is low or you are out of planted explosives, because even if one of them gets you, you wont be able to peek out of the water for like 10+ seconds so watch out.
-Repeat
