ACC - Logitech brake pedal improvement g920 g29
By [PX] HANDGRANATEN_WILLI
Hello @ll,

[v 0.7.2]

i want to share just a little adjustment to work around the stupid rubber piece on the brake pedal.
What we want to do is to reconfigure the active range of the pedal to increase the sensitivity and power up the braking ability.
This is only needed if you do not own a brake mod.

Change the config of the Brake
You can edit the config.json and apply a custom range to your brake.

Just open:
\Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Config\controls.json

..find the property raceCommandAxisList and look for an entry that defines the brake with "axisCode": "Brake" and change the maxRange to some higher value.
The interpolation is a value between 0 to 1.

value of 0 = no change and your brake needs the full range
value of 1 = fully squashed range and the brake is at its full potential just by looking at it
(Note that custom settings in the ingame settings may influence your results. If your range is already adjusted you wont be able to enter a lower value than the ingame setting but you can increase it even further which is the important part)

Try to find a balanced weight which works for you.
In my case i am using a value of 0.6 so i only need to press the brake only a little against the rubber to get 100% braking power.

"raceCommandAxisList": [ { "axisIndex": 0, "axisCode": "Steer", "minRange": 1, "maxRange": -1, "isCombined": false }, { "axisIndex": 1, "axisCode": "Gas", "minRange": 1, "maxRange": -0.77999997138977051, "isCombined": false }, { "axisIndex": 5, "axisCode": "Brake", "minRange": 1, "maxRange": 0.6, <-- CONFIGURE YOUR SETTING HERE (dont copy the comment beginning with '<--' on this line!!!) "isCombined": false }, { "axisIndex": 6, "axisCode": "Clutch", "minRange": 1, "maxRange": -1, "isCombined": false } ]

Hope this helps and happy braking!

Es más fácil ir a G Hu y subir la sensibilidad del freno al 100% y bloquearlo dando clic en el candado para que se aplique a todos los perfiles.

So just removing it is a bad idea as I mentioned below due to the curve logitech has in the firmware, would cause odd behavior

id be careful with this because there is a non-linear curve on the brake that is hard coded into the logitech firmware that applies a multiplier after the point at which the rubber piece begins to fight back at you

Best thing to do is just rebind the brake to the clutch and problem fixed

Lol at the comment below this, can you imagine just suffering through not enjoying your equipment cause you care about what other people on the internet think. Thanks for the help!

Those who complain about the brake rubber in Gxx series should try a loadcell brake. After that you'll stop bitching about the rubber. Seriously, the "the rubber is crap" comments are obviously from noobs. They simply raise a snicker from the community in general.
FYI: All the settings in the JSON above are possible from inside the settings pages. On another note, Logitech'sG-Hub disables force feedback if you set a wheel range inside it. Keep all the Logitech defaults and set wheel range inside ACC. For G920/29 ACC wheel range MUST be set at 900 - no other setting makes sense. Steering speed is set for each vehicle in the mechanical grip settings.
