NOTE: This guide is still incomplete until I finish gathering data, or when I stop being lazy. Hunter's data will be slowly updated as I don't play Hunter.

Hi I'm Manta; Deathgarden addict since the beta. I primarily wrote this guide for myself, but I'm sure this is as helpful to you as it is to me. This manual is dedicated to being a source of information for Characters and their Skills, Challenges, Maps and so forth. It does not teach you how to play.

Game Objective / Mechanics
Deathgarden is an asymmetrical 5v1 hide-and-seek survival game. The Scavenger's objective is to hide from the Hunter to escape the garden. The Hunter's objective is to find, down and execute Scavengers.

Scavenger
Scavengers have a range of abilities to aid their escape:
  • Arrows: Allows Scavengers to mark points of interest to navigate the map and to shoot down Hunter constructs such as drones, mines and turrets.
  • Dodge: A Scavenger can dodge as long as their stamina bar allows (5 rolls consecutively, more with perks/unique bonuses) to evade the Hunter.
  • Vambrace Power: Powerful character specific arrow ability which can elude the Hunter or help teammates. A maximum of 3 arrows can be shot, until refilled with a blue crate. One out of two focuses can be selected.
  • Perks: Characters specific bonuses that aids in smalls way to accommodate your playstyle. Two out of six perks can be selected.
  • Unique Bonuses: Character specific traits which boost their stats.

Hunter
Hunters have a range of tools to find and kill Scavengers:
  • Weapons: Used to kill Scavengers. Weapons are character specific and up to 2 can be used.
  • Power: The Hunter has a character specific power (Anti-Personell Turret, Proximity Mines or Fade).
  • Shock: Can be used to immobilize and damage the Scavengers for a short while. Has a cooldown of 6 seconds.
  • Supercharge: The ability to boost across the map as far as the Hunter's stamina allows.
  • Perks: Characters specific bonuses that aids in smalls way to accommodate your playstyle. Two out of six perks can be selected.
  • Unique Bonuses: Character specific traits which boost their stats.
  • Drones: Are spawned randomly around the map. Can be activated by using one power core.

Exit gates
Exit gates are opened after:
  • Scavengers successfully gather and deliver 140 blood collectively.
  • Being the last Scavenger standing when the hunter executes 4 other Scavengers.
  • Surviving 8min.
This will trigger blood mode, where the surrounding area of the exit gates slowly reveal all Scavengers. When blood mode activates, the exit gates spawn after 20 seconds. The game automatically ends after 2min of blood mode.

Reveal
Scavengers may be revealed with a red outline, which the hunter can see cross-map and through obstacles. This is triggered by:
  • Standing in a drone's scanning area.
  • Picking up a hacked crate.
  • When blood mode activates.
  • Being AFK.

Golden Crate
After 3min(around 5min left on the clock), a golden crate will randomly spawn on the map. When picked up by a Scavenger, the team will have unlimited arrows and focus arrows for 30 seconds. When picked up by a Hunter, the Hunter will have unlimited stamina and ammo for 30 seconds.

Downed state
The downed state of a scavenger is when the hunter diminishes the Scavenger's health bar. The Scavengers will only be able to crawl while on a bleedout timer of 120 seconds.
  • Hunters can only execute when the Scavengers is in a downed state. The hunter can also choose for the scavenger to bleedout.
  • Scavengers can revive other downed Scavengers while standing next to them, or by the focus Heal arrow before the Hunter is executing. Downed Scavengers can also revive themselves by crawling to a health crate. Revived Scavengers start with 1/3 hp (more with perks/unique bonuses).
AFK
When you are AFK as Scavenger you will be revealed after 45 seconds by a drone that spawns above your head. You will get a visual warning at 35 seconds.
Characters (Scavengers)
Fog (Iosif Blatov)
















After losing his family in the ruins around Moscow, Iosif Blatov joined Tabula Rasa: a group dedicated to the destruction of the Enclaves and the rebuilding of society. Now an expert Scavenger, he gains entry into Enclaves under false identities, strikes blows against the Hunters from within and melts back into the ruins, before moving to another Enclave to start again.


Ghost (Yani Amini)








Hating what the Hunters had made of society, Yani Amini tried to strike back. However, during an assassination attempt on the Hunter in charge of the Enclave, he was caught in the act and sent into the Garden for life.

Unlike most Scavengers, he has insider knowledge of the way Hunters think and act, and uses this to his advantage in The Gauntlet. He's a survivor and plans that one day, he'll get free and exact his revenge on the Hunters.



Inked (Aishwarya Kumaran)











In the past, Scavengers used biometric tattoos, to make them faster, stronger, better. Aishwarya Kumaran wanted to return to those days, developing her own methods and technologies to help Scavengers against the Hunters.

When her allies turned on her, wanting to keep the tattooes for themselves, she fled where they would not follow: into The Gauntlet. If she can beat the Hunters, she can win her way out of the country, escape her pursuers and use her tech to help others get into the Enclaves.



Sawbones (Aria Vaughn)






Aria Vaughn ran a clinic in the ruins, healing those she could, easing the pain of those she couldn't. Her settlement was raided and she vowed to fight back, but warlords are powerful and merciless. Vaughn's counterattack was crushed, her friends were murdered and she was thrown into The Gauntlet as punishment.

Her spirit remains strong, she won't be defeated; she'll win her freedom and return to the ruins, where she can continue to do good for those who need her most.



Switch (Su Bai)













One way to survive in the ruins is as a Recycler - scavenging old tech and breaking it down into NPI. Su Bai takes that to the extreme, getting sent into The Gauntlet for minor offenses, having her missing limb replaces with an artificial one, which she recycles when she returns to the ruins.

It takes a special kind of resourcefulness to be willing to sacrifice body parts to survive.


Dash (Darius Shaw)













There’s a fine line between courage and folly. Dash doesn’t walk that line—he runs it.

A product of his environment, Dash is a Scavenger who knows that speed keeps you out of the crosshairs. He grew up pushing his luck, breaking into the Garden at night and honing his skills in the dusty, blood-soaked desert of Minneapolis. He called it his training grounds but secretly, he knew what it was—a playground where he could dream of taking part in The Bloodharvest. But dreams are worthless in this world, and his parents would never allow him to compete. There was work to be done, and junk that needed scavenging for the settlement.

It was when the raiders came that fate intervened. With the settlement’s resources ransacked and winter approaching, a miracle was needed. Fueled by the fearlessness of youth, Dash turned his nightly Garden break and entries into a dangerous heist. Though he looted enough to save his settlement, his luck ran out, and on his last robbery a Hunter laid in wait. Was it bravery that caused Dash to run a distraction while his friend escaped or something more? As the Hunter approached, a grin flashed over Dash’s face. He knew the sentence for looting from the Enclave: Competition in the Bloodharvest.

Inquisitor (Tomás Guerra)
























Tomás Guerra felt like something was missing from his life, until he joined The Pure, a fanatical group who execute the will of a charismatic leader.

Now he heads an inquisition, uncovering plots and quelling dissent with ruthless efficiency. Any who dare to opposte The Pure are located and thrown into The Gauntlet, where Guerra hunts them down, for the final time.

His face may be hidden, but his gaze is penetrating. Pray that it does not fall on you.


The Stalker (Eve Barnes)
The forests of the Deathgardens, though artificial, can be dark and forbidding places. The weight of ancient power can seem to drip from every branch. Eyes regard you from the shadows and an attack can come from any direction, at any time.

There is movement. Leaves rustle and you catch a glimpse of antlers passing by. You feel the impact and you hit the ground before you hear the crack of the gun. Your blood drains into the mossy floor and as a pointed shadow looms above you.

The Stalker has forever made you a part of her forest.


The Poacher (Declan Krefft)
The Gauntlet is not a game, not even a way to gain entry into the luxurious life of the Enclaves. It's a portcullis, a barrier, keeping the sacred spaces from those who sully their memories.

Declan Krefft is a gatekeeper, stopping incursions into his land with ruthless efficiency. He can smell your scent on the wind, track your footprints through the undergrowth and uncover your hiding place.

The Garden is his territory, and you are not welcome.

“The oil field detonated, killing our people but destroying the enemy and denying them their prize. Victory comes at a cost, and there are always sacrifices to be made.”

Blowout is a large open oil field shrouded in a dense fume cloud. The arena is crammed with rust-covered drilling and pumping machinery.
  • Biome: Desert
  • Atmosphere: Choking Fumes
  • Garden elements: Oil rig, pipes, barrels, pumpjack, oil Derrick, ruins, cacti, scarce trees, trenches, scattered flat patches of land surrounded by cliffs.

First Strike
“Our attack was swift and expertly executed - the city had fallen in hours. Pockets of resistance remained, but they were tracked down and eradicated. A perfect campaign result.”

First Strike’s topography is virtually flat, but the arena’s grounds are peppered with building ruins and overgrown vegetation.

  • Atmosphere: The calm before the storm
  • Garden elements: Ruined city, trees, even ground.

Salt Creek
"The endless convoy of civilians must take the road that runs alongside the river. Its waters are shallow, but the river’s winding course slows down the wanderers’ eastward movement. These are ideal grounds for those seeking to hunt down the vulnerable."

Salt Creek stands out from the others thanks to its winding river and the towering rock formation found at its heart. Salt Creek is nearly devoid of buildings, and the river that flows through the arena doesn’t provide much cover.

  • Garden elements: Rivers, waterfalls, boulders, trees, ruins, open fields & gullies

Tombstone
“Cut off from high command, and with little prospect of reinforcement, the 'Death’s Heralds soldiers' set up a base of operation in a cemetery and drew up plans for a counterattack.”

Tombstone distinguishes itself from the other maps thanks to its towering obelisk and countless tombstones and mausoleums.
  • Biome: British Columbia
  • Atmosphere: Night
  • Garden elements: Tombstones & mausoleums, central obelisk, trees, ruins, tunnels, irregular terrain with frequent elevation changes

Dust & Blood
“The sun shone bright on their faces when they woke, as they struggled to open eyelids that were encrusted with dust"

An arid landscape peppered with the crumbling ruins of an ancient civilization.
  • Biome: Arizona Desert
  • Weather Condition: Sandstorm
  • Garden elements: Ancient temple, ruins, cacti, trees, and a large central trench.

Fire In The Sky
“They stopped and gazed silently at the long night, glowing red and green amid the falling snow. They had finally reached the enemy’s blast furnace, an invaluable target for the coming months.”

A frozen landscape covered with snow, pine trees and treacherous trenches. In the center of the map lies a massive blast furnace surrounded by body piles and hiding areas, making it a high risk, high reward zone.

  • Weather Condition: Northern lights and faint snow fall
  • Garden elements: Blast furnace, bridges, pine trees, rails, trenches, snow and ice patches, brick structures and chimneys.
Titles, XP and Currency
XP is gained to level up your character and to reach higher player ranks. Achieving a new rank gives you a new title, which is in alphabetical order. After reaching Z, you start at A again with DUO- or TRIO- etc in front of your title.

Mercy Mechanic
Achieving multiple scavenger downs prior to executing a scavenger grants the hunter with a reward multiplayer (max of 5 charges, or 5 consecutive downs). Upon executing a scavenger, the hunter receives an amount of XP points and resources corresponding to his/her reward multiplier. The multiplier then resets after each execution. Failure to execute a scavenger, however, means that the hunter won’t earn their reward.

Currency is obtained by achieving XP milestones. You are given XP bars that have four milestones per bar. Each bar is 1000XP, and the milestones require 250XP each. After completing a bar, you are granted a new bar that gives increased currency rewards.

Additionally, you can gain currency by completing challenges.

Prestige
Upon fully upgrading hunters and scavengers’ loadouts (perks, powers, weapons, etc.), you’ll have the opportunity to gain Prestige by resetting your Characters’ progression. Doing so requires that you consume a set amount of Blood cells, but gaining Prestige will grant you:

There are currently 4 Prestige levels per Character. Each level you achieve will award you with one of the items listed above. Complete the 4 levels to unlock your complete Prestige Full Set.

It’s important to note that while resetting your Characters’ progress, unlocking Prestige levels DOES NOT reset your account’s progress. In other words, you will not lose the Titles you’ll unlock over time.
Proving Grounds
The Proving Grounds will be displayed in your Locker Room whether you’re playing hunter or scavenger. The hunter leaderboard and the scavenger leaderboard will each feature your top score of the week for that role. Additionally, the top 5 scorers worldwide will be displayed for each Role.



Additionally, a Tier, accompanied by a Crest, will be associated with your high score of the week.
