Secret Achievements Guide by AseR [On The Edge Edition]

Deal with the Londoners Graffiti peacefully.


New Home
  • Reach Winterhome.
  • Low discontent.
  • Low hope (I had mine around 25-30%).
  • Choose Purpose

Order
Get Guard Towers. Keep your hope low and your discontent lower to trigger graffiti events. Ask Guards to clean it up. Repeat. Keep repeating until your cleaners get attacked right after they go to clean the graffiti and THEN choose the top option to send guards to keep watch over the streets.

After a little while you'll get another event where villagers voice their agreement with your decision and that's when the achievement will pop.

Faith
Go ahead and react to every grafitti by letting a priest calm the people. When he is assaulted, always choose to pray for him. When there are no Londerns left, you'll get the achievement.
(Faith Keepers not necessary)

Finish The Arks scenario, saving both cities


If you have trouble with this, just set the game at Easy difficulty. And choose laws that increases food production, like Soup and Extended Shift.

Golden Path

Finish the New Home scenario without crossing the line
It's possible to get "we didn't cross the line" in the ending scene without get this achievement.

Premise
This achievement require a several restriction in your actions. Which the most part affects: Laws, Reaction to Events and Promises.

Laws Prohibited
  • Adaptation: Child Labour, Emergency Shift, Duelling Law, Triage and House of Pleasure.
  • Order: Propaganda Center and Prison
  • Faith: Faith Keepers, Righteous Denunciation and House of Healing.
Rules
  • When the storm hits let your Coal Mines Freeze, don't sacrifice childrens.
  • Let the Londoners speak, don't disperse crowds If they do decide to leave, let them go peacefully, i.e. do not risk deaths by trying to keep them by force.
  • No deaths for lack of treatment, food and overwork
  • *Don't ignore your people needs. Like shelter, cold, food, and medical treatments.
  • *Don't take actions that hurts people. Like banish, guards beating, ect.

Tips
  • Sign Medical Apprentices after Child Shelter. To avoid deaths at all costs.
  • Escort all survivors, to avoid their death.
  • Avoid all citizen requests or ‘protests’. Like they never request homes, food, medical care or complain about cold homes.
  • When you start to have Amputees, prioritize them by removing Engineers from the Medical Post then putting them back in. Or sign the Care House law so you can take care of them when you build Infimeries.

Facts
  • Death of the Wise Old man doesn't count.
  • Guards death don't count when the londoneers stole food.
  • Poet's Suicide doesn't count.
  • Frostland deaths doesn't count.(Tesla City, Bears, Frozen Scouts)

IMPORTANT
In the end, Golden Path has many variables through it. And it needs more testing. For now, every rules marked by this * means that it is possibly wrong. Any tested experience is welcome.

My Turn to Speak

Let the Londoners speak and have the last word


New Home
  1. You need to keep the discontent over 25% (keep it around 50% to be sure) during the Londoner storyline.
  2. Let the protesters always speak. (Choose Let Him Speak)
  3. After a couple of times you can choose the option to speak back which triggers the achievement.
Negotiator

Deal with the Londoners' thievery peacefully


New Home

You get this achievement during the thievery events when you take the option "Let him go, he's not the Murderer" after a successful investigation. This option is only available if a guard was murdered before. Therefore you always need to send out your guards when something happen in your city to maximise the probability of a deadly incident. Don't beat thieves or send them in prison.

Give child workers extra rations


Accept double food for working children.
Easy Trigger, in the Refugees Scenario. Sign Child Labour as first law.

Find New Manchester before Day 15


The Arks

New Manchester is to the east in The Arks. You need to complete the "Autonomous city" quest before day 12. One day after completion of the quest, an event occurs where a man is running towards your city. Have a scout (or an Automaton scout) with fully upgraded speed ready at your city and send them to intercept the man, and New Manchester will be revealed once he arrives.

Tips
Rush the Beacon from the start.
Then rush the quest Autonomous city.
Increase your Scouts Speed. (at least 50%)


The Scientific Method, vol. 1

Finish the Automaton Project


Once you have an automaton, you will eventually be approached by an engineer who wants to study them. Accept his request and all subsequent requests. Keep a Steam Core to complete it.

An easy trigger for this, is in The Arks scenario.
The Scientific Method, vol. 2

Improve Radical Treatment


If you enacted Radical treatment, you will eventually be approached by an engineer who wants to try something. Accept their request and all subsequent requests.

A fast way to trigger this event, is to start a new playthrough in The Fall of Winterhome .
  1. First law Radical Treatment.
  2. Build some Medical Posts.
  3. Wait for the event to trigger.

The Union

Finish the Refugees scenario, accepting all the lords and resolving the class conflict.


Tips
  • Increase your medical facilities Efficiency (Organ Transplant, Overcrowning, Reseaches)
  • Build as more Infirmaries as you can.
  • Good food income. The lords comes with starving people.
  • Control your Hope/Discontent bar with abilities like: Patrol, Propaganda, Priests, Temple ect..

Find the unknown ship in Frostland


The Refugees

You will find it exploring the east side of the map.
Get your scouts reseaches. (Exploration Time, Cap)
All children on board

Finish the Fall of Winterhome Scenario, sending all children to Dreadnought.


At the start of the Exodus mission, send 50 childrens 2 times.
Full Dreadnought

Finish the Fall of Winterhome scenario, full the Dreadnought and filling it with people.

Fully upgrading the Dreadnought costs 5000 Coal, 5000 Food Rations, 9000 Steel and 10 Steam Cores.

  • 300/700/1500/2500/4000 steel per deck level
  • 1/1/2/2/4 cores per deck level
  • 1000 food and 100 people per deck level

If you are having trouble just lower the difficulty and remember to gather as much Steel as you can.
Keep the Automaton guarding the bridge, it will allow you to set the Outpost on the Steel Mine.

There is an event in the frostlands that gives you more Steam Cores with a 50/50 chance to gain them all. Otherwise, in the very late game you can deconstruct your Steam Cores buildings to finish the final upgrades.

On the Edge

There are 3 Settlements in the Frostlands:
  • Children's Mine
  • Hot Springs
  • Shipwreck Camp

After you find a settlement, you must send a Costruction Team to it.
To unlock the safe route, develop the settlement to level 3.
Then build it by sending another Costruction Team at yellow maked spots.
We Are In This Together

Save New London in On the Edge scenario.


This is 1 of the 2 possible endings.

At Day 30-31, some people from New London will come to you in search of shelter.
Then, New London will contact you explaining that they need help.
After discussing with the other settlements, you will have to choose the fate of New London.

When you have made your choice, all the Settlements, with a Loyal grade Relations, will send supplies to New London depending on their role.

New London will need these resources in 4 days:
  • 3000 Coal (Children's Mine)
  • 200 Food Rations (Hot Spring)
  • 50 Workers (Shipwreck Camp)
  • 250 Steel + 5 Steam Cores (from us)
Unforgiven

Let New London fall in On the Edge scenario.


This is 1 of the 2 possible endings.

At Day 30-31, some people from New London will come to you in search of shelter.
Then, New London will contact you explaining that they need help.
After discussing with the other settlements, you will have to choose the fate of New London.

When you've made your choice, all the Settlements, with a Loyal grade Relations, will send you supplies constantly, as it follows below. Even if you haven't settled a secure route.

Children's Mine will send you Coal
Shipwreck Camp will send you Wood
Hot Springs will send you Raw Food

You must keep those promises in 4 days:
  • Gather 200 Food Rations.
  • Have 5 working Infirmaries.
  • Build 20 additional Bunkerhouses, or Houses.
  • Keep all Bunkerhouses/Houses Cold or Warmer
  • Have no Homeless.


You Had To Do It

Rename Outpost 11 to "New London".


On the Edge

You can rename your city after you rebelled from New London.
You must send at least 2 shipments of Stell and Steam Cores to rebel from New London.
I Feel Lucky

Always take the "risky choice" on Frostland in On the Edge scenario.


There are 2 risky choices in the Frostlands.
  • Steel Bridge Demolition
  • Tesla City

Lose in Serenity Mode


  1. Start a game in Serenity Mode.
  2. Turn On the Generator and Overdrive.
  3. Make some coffee, or rate this guide.

Hi, thank you for your appreciation.
I believe you've experienced a bug, maybe the game considers an endurance scenario with settlements same as On The Edge.

You could report it to 11bit, but i don't think they will adress it.

Hey ! I'm a bit late to the party but great guide thanks !
I just wanted to share my experience on one achievement.

I was looking to do "Hi Marek!" and started a endless mode in serenity on the "Crater" map. When you start, the game ask you to pick a name for your city. Out of curiosity, I wrote "New London" and apparently I got the achievement "You Had to do it..."

Don't know if it's a bug though

"Slave Driver" and his counterpart "Endless Slave Driver" are not secret achievements, since their requirements are well visible.

Following the steps of this guide it was not possible to unblock the negotiator, I have tried numerous times.
I finally succeeded as follows: my first investigation was a failure, in my second investigation they found the culprit (I arrested him) and in the third investigation the guard died. Soon after, I used all the skills possible to increase my hope to the maximum (use again as soon as possible). And that is the difference, your hope must be high in the period between the death of the guard and the next notification of the event. If their hope is low, the population will kill the thief.
