Cuphead Parry Issues

How To Parry

All you gotta do to parry is press jump button when you are too close to pink objects while you're in the air. You can destroy enemy projectiles with parrying them. You can also parry multiple times with a single jump.

Multiple Parries

To parry multiple times in a single jump, you should wait for to get close to the parry. Spamming jump button may not work every time. You don't have to be afraid about it. There are 2 options to train for this: you can use tutorial or the boss which bounces like a ball which is in the first island.
Tutorial is easier than the boss but if you want to see the experience, use the boss. Before the boss gets bigger, it stops and 3 question marks appears on his head. Those question marks are parryable.

If You Still Can't Parry (Including King Dice)

You can use the automatic parry ability which you can buy in porkind's shop.

Note : Smoke Bomb ability might be the best ability in the game. I really recommend it to you. You can knockout bosses easier with it. It also doesn't reduce the damage you deal. If you use automatic parry, that means you can't get through objects with dash.


I only recommend you to use it for King Dice. Because if you are not good at parrying, you can't do the last form of King Dice which he attacks with cards can parryable. You'll also play with that ability for other bosses. Most of his bosses requires smoke bomb to knockout them easily and get hit harder.

If you want to knockout bosses that don't require smoke bomb and knockout King Dice without getting hit, use 1, 4 and 8. If you also want HP, retry it until you get the hearts on the bosses.

Parry Secrets (PATCHED!!)

There are some parryable objects which you can parry forever. You can see those parryable objects bellow.

You have to start parrying under the object else it won't work and you may get hit. That's the easiest way to get the Bouncing Ball achievement.

Haven't played the DLC, but for a fact I know that Sidney, when he shoots his tongue out, the tongue can also be parried in pretty much the same manner The Ship's beam can be

Ah another thing you can parry over and over is the Lollipops that Creampup shoots out in the third phase of Baroness Von Bon Bon's fight (Creampup is the Castle).

The pink balloon in Funfair Fever is really good for getting 4 parries in a row for the juggling NPC quest
