How to DRASTICALLY increase fps on Garry's Mod

Using the 64 bit build of Garry's Mod ( BETA )

The 64 bit version of Garry's Mod will drastically increase performance on 64 bit builds, although this is a beta release and there are some issues with using this branch of the game, such as addons not working as they should. Known problems are currently VCMod and the custom voice chat box on the server. Use this branch at your own risk.

Launch options

- If you are experiencing crashing with the game, especially when joining servers, -autoconfig in your launch options will configure the game to performance settings that are suitable for your computer

- You can enter -windowed -noborder in the game launch options to use windowed borderless mode ( this will be added in the incoming update )

- Other options for CPU utilisation and memory usage are also available, as well as other graphic options

Console variables

- gmod_mcore_test 1 , this will enable multicore rendering ( NOT STABLE ON ALL COMPUTERS ) which will significantly improve your FPS if your PC supports multicore rendering

- mat_specular 0, will disable specular lighting and save you a few frames
