Intro and Disclamer
The Enemy Skill Materia, is a Command Materia, that enables the user to learn and use select enemy skills. Its is first found in the sample tank, in Professor Hojo's lab, in the Shinra Headquarters.
Note:
  • All learnable skills are found after obtaining the materia.
  • Some skills have one time chase of being learn.
  • Due to the game's buggy programming Pandora's Box can only be learn once per save file; as Dragon Zombie will only cast it once, ever; so don't kill it uses the skill.
  • Fleeing from a battle will nulled any learn skills; this is also counts being ejected out of battle. This makes leaning "Beta" more challenging, as "Midgar Zolom" is known to eject party members, from battle.
  • A character can learn a skill permanently, regardless of whether he or she survives the attack.
Disclamer: I made this guide to be a quicker load up then going into a web browser. That being said, this is my first guide ever; so if any informacion is wrong or anyhing is missed spelled. Just comment or PM me and I'll update ASAP. All of the the information is from the Final Fantasy Wiki. Which can be found here[finalfantasy.wikia.com].

  • If you missed some skills other enemeies may know the same skill later on.
  • The Battle Squre has a lot the low level monsters with skills; can eliminate a lot of backtraking.
  • Northern Cave has a lot of learnable skills
  • Equiping on party member with more then one "Enemy Skill Materia" will learn the skill for all materia; if they havent already.
  • Parasite has a lot of the learnable skils.

Good luck!

I noticed that during my recent playthrough that when you try to manipulate Jerseys for ???? or Dragon Zombie for Shadow Flare they tend to retaliate with the skill you are trying to get. Can anyone confirm this for all of us?

The easiest way to get whitewind (zemzelett-condor mt area), big guard (beachplug - costa del sol beach), death force (adamantainai - wutai beach), and magic hammer (razor weed - wutai, best found on dark green grass) is to use MANIPULATE (may not work the first time, if so try again or change monster). Once monster is manipulated have monster cast the desired "spell" on the party. Since these "spells" hit the entire party spread out the enemy skill materia among party members. None of these will kill the party being mostly defensive.

Chocobuckle - I found the best place to hunt chocobos for this is just outside the chocobo farm. Must have L4 suicide as enemy skill and minnett greens. Feed minnett green to chocobo, set off L4 suicide, if the chocobo takes damage, the chocobo will retaliate by pecking the one who set off the L4 suicide (this is member who must have the enemy skill materia) The pecking is the chocobuckle. Note 1: Hopefully the party has not escaped too many times because chocobuckle equals the number of escapes and the amount of damage the party will take. NOTE 2: Handy information to know if trying to achieve the legendary "All Lucky 7's" Escape 2222 times then use on a character with 9999 HP (2 max/nearly max HP Plus materia to get the infamous 7777 HP. This is but one way to achieve the Lucky 7's.

Sadly, yes. This was the failed PC verson done back in the eary 2000's, which was badly ported by Eidos. Square did went back and fix many issues for the re-release but not all; this being one of them.

By "once per save file," does this mean that I still cannot get Pandora's Box, even if I end the game without saving and reload the save? Because Dragon Zombie killed me after using it.

@Vaendryl.NL Must have overlooked the cost, when reading the list. Thanks, has been updated.
