Background
Ever wished you can quickly swap between your "working outfits" (equipments with stamina bonus), "magic outfit" (for magic use or generating resourced), "fighting outfits" (for melee fighting) etc?

Want to quickly swap between melee and ranged weapons and your harvesting pitchfork and building mallets?

This guide will show you the basics of how to achieve this

Shortcut (Hotkey) basics
Shortcut is available for the 10 buttons - the number 1 to 9 and 0

You can set up shortcut via two ways

Open up your inventory (by clicking on icon, or press "i")

(1) Use your mouse to left click on the item and select add shortcut, or

(2) Hover your mouse over the item and press the number you want to assign it to
(for example, hover mouse over the axe and press 2 will assign the hotkey 2 to this axe)

You can left click on the item again and select erase shortcut to remove it

Swapping TWO HANDED weapons and handheld items (tools)
For two handed weapon/tools, it is as simple as assigning the shortcut key and press whichever one you need

For example, set pike (two handed) to 1, fork to 2, two-handed saw to 3

You can now change between them by pressing the buttons.

How do you know which one you changed to? Look at the bottom left hand corner of screen where the button allows you to "attack nearest enemy". The icon will update to your current weapon/tool

Swapping ONE HANDED weapon/tool - dual wield
This is slightly trickier. Remember the golden rule is "swap the same number of items (eg swap two items with two items), and "reset"

For example, you can assign two one handed weapon to dual wield. Let's say I want to dual wield two daggers. So I obtain two daggers, then assign the shortcut "1" to both of them.

But I also like to dual wield mallets for building bonus, dual wield rolling pins for bakery bonus, dual wield pickaxe for mining/stonecutting bonus.

So i assign two mallets to "2", two rolling pins to "3", and two pickaxes to "4".

And then I start to press between 1, 3, 4,2 etc to change them - but this mucks up the weapon you hold - somehow the game makes it that you hold one of each.
So if you press 1 and 2, instead of changing both daggers to both mallets, you end up with one dagger and one mallet.

So how do you fix this?

"Reset"

How do you reset? By changing to a two handed weapon/tool.

So for the above example, let's say I assign two-handed saw to "5".

So now when I want to change between dagger and mallet, instead of pressing "2", I would press "5" first followed by "2"

Same with other items - press "5" then "3" would change to dual wield rolling pins, "5" then 4 to dual wield pickaxes

You can also dual wield boomerang and stone javelin by assigning both to the same number, and swap between dual wield melee weapon to dual wield ranged (boomerange/javelin) in the same way as above

Swapping ONE HANDED weapon/tool - not dual wielding
So let's say you hold shield in one hand, and you want to change between sword and boomerang in the other.

This is much easier. Just assign the number to sword (eg 1) then a number to boomerang (eg 2).

Then just press the number you want as needed

BUT

The game seems to prefer changing the LEFT HAND

So just hold the item you DONT want to change in the right hand. Eg. shield in right hand for the above example

Swapping OUTFITS
Let's say you want to wear cloth hat and cloth shirt for STAMINA bonus as your "working outfit"

But you also want to be able to quickly swap to MAGIC outfit for generating resource or cast spell etc

And sometimes you just want to go melee quickly when the monsters attack, so you want your MELEE/TANK outfit

The key thing to remember is that you still need SAME number of items for each assigned outfit

Swapping between different number of items per shortcut will mix it up with not the result you want

So for example:

Assign cloth hat and cloth shirt to "1"
Assign magic hat and magic shirt to "2"
Assign steel helmet and steelplate to "3"

You can now freely switch between them

Beware that pressing the shortcut when you are already wearing it would result in undressing the shortcut item

So if you press 1 twice (switch to 1 and then pressed 1 again) you will be wearing no hat and no shirt

Final words
Well, that's pretty much the basics of it, now go out there and be creative and use this to your advantage.

I have only just bought the game when it came out few days ago, so am still quite new to this. I am sure there are many other tips and tricks. Please feel free to share them to help other players!

From the bottom of my heart I would like to sincerely thank the developer Syl for making this wonderful game. I have been waiting for this kind of game for a long time. Thank you.

very nice guide. Would only add to it that you can do this to for spells (from books or scrolls) to cast them all in one go. buffing your char (keep an eye on mana cost thou)
Or if your more oriented to wards buffs from foods, drinks and potions. you can add them all in one key too.

Thanks! First time I wrote a guide. Felt the urge to do so coz I really want to help people to enjoy this game, and spread words about this underrated gem.

Definitely would have been nice to have this in the tutorial. I actually only realized this after finished the tutorial once, and on starting a second char accidentally discovered the shortcut keys.

Very useful information. Figured this out on my own but deserves a guide all on it's own.

Would have liked this to be covered in the tutorial but there you go.
