How to fix cutscene lag / stuttering / desync
By MechaDeka
Switching the game's Direct X mode has worked for me and several other users:

-Go to DMC5 folder
-Open file name "dmc5config.ini"
-Change next line
-Capability=DirectX12
-TargetPlatform=DirectX12
-to DirectX11

What solved my problem was installing REframework from nexusmods.
https://www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry5/mods/2760

I've been playing since a couple days with the Framework installed now and I dont have any Audio delay causing desync anymore..

super easy to install just get the Fluffy Modmanager and drag and drop the framework into the running application and everything is set up.

Doesn't seem to work for me. I've been changing those two lines to DirectX11 but as soon as I start the game the TargetPlatform line will change to 11 but Capability line will stay as DX12..
I've tried finding mods which could fix that issue but not really succesful..

anyways thx for the effort

After turning Ambient Occlusion, Bloom, Lens Flare, Chromatic Aberration OFF and turning Volumetric Lighting and Effects Quality to LOW all cutscene lag, stutter or desync is gone.
(I'm also running on MEDIUM Textures aswell as HIGH Filtering, Mesh and Shadow Quality.)

The game runs fine until I try to record gamplay and a CPU core hits 100%. That's when it desyncs. It seems to runs better on DX12 on my system. Not sure. Need to test more.

It doesn't work for for some reason and I still get audio desync in cutscenes, also DX11 has significantly longer loading times than 12

I also suffered from the "application exit." A cutscene would play, then suddenly freeze and only the sound continued. Some notice would appear and after that, the whole game would crash.

I put both settings to x12 and set the file to "read only." So far, this seems to have fixed the problem. :)

Also, the game was trying to make the first line x12 and the second x11. Maybe that´s the main issue? When both aren´t the same? If you´re having these issues, it might be worth it to try making both lines x11 and if it doesn´t help, then x12. Which number is likely going to depend on something in your pc, but I got no idea what.

Got a fatal application error.
