Introduction
Zombie Massacre is one of several game modes in Tower Unite.
It is a PvE, top-down shooter. While fun in multiplayer, when solo'd one can make significant amounts of Units from it.

This is a mega guide which will cover all aspects of the game.

This guide assumes you are playing on Hard mode
This guide is up to date as of update 7.0.0
Basic Tips
  • Learn to kite (stay close to) enemies well, especially as Medic and Electrician. Keeping zombies moving and routes for you to escape is how you'll survive, otherwise you can get swarmed and body blocked which will lead to a rapid demise.

  • Always upgrade your weapon, followed by damage, followed by ammo amount. Your guns are your best friend. The rest is up to you.

  • Due to the angle of the camera it can be harder to see incoming enemies from below the screen. Stay near the bottom of the map if possible so you can notice approaching enemies easier.

  • Press F to turn on your flashlight. This isn't necessary but can help with visibility in certain maps.

  • High movement speed can make kiting difficult. Its best to not upgrade it more than once or twice for most classes.

  • Keep your eyes open for Vampires. They are your worst enemy, and getting blindsided by them can kill you extremely fast.

  • Higher starting health is good but often its better to buy upgrades for your class abilities. Don't buy lives, just don't die :)

  • Enemies have really basic AI and if you hug against certain walls you can cause them to bee-line towards you, making for easy kills and good trap setups. Might reduce fun factor.
Classes
There are six classes in Zombie Massacre, and they are all fully viable, although medic makes soloing the easiest.

Special Items can be upgraded, and Abilities damage is influenced by your weapon damage stat.

Medic
Both a healer and a berserker, medics pretty much don't die, but their abilities don't do much damage.

Special Item - Healing Kit
  • Creates an area that links to and heals players.
  • You can earn points for healing other players with this ability.
  • Leveling this ability increases the healing per tick.
  • 20 second duration, 13 second cooldown

Combo Ability -Transplant
  • Link to nearby enemies and siphon health from them.
  • Can link to multiple enemies, but only damages one at a time.
  • Does 5 damage per tick.
  • 20 second duration

Electrician
The Techy, basically. Can control very large areas, with decent damage abilities.

Special Item - Home-made Turret
  • Places a turret. Low damage but extremely high fire rate.
  • Automatically acquires targets.
  • Can increase combo.
  • Does a maximum of 5 damage per shot, damage falls off with range.
  • Leveling this ability increases the range.
  • 20 second duration, 10 second cooldown, has a short wind-down time before cooldown begins.

Combo Ability - Tesla Zap
  • Link to nearby enemies dealing high damage to them.
  • Can link to multiple enemies.
  • Does 30 damage per tick.
  • 10 second duration.

Journalist
A specialist that deals extremely high damage with their abilities, but with less range on their special item and a combo that can only be used once at a time.

Special Item - Radio Tower
  • Places a low range Radio Tower that sends out high damage pulses.
  • Can increase combo.
  • Deals 100 damage per pulse.
  • Leveling this ability increases the pulse frequency.
  • 20 second duration, 11 second cooldown.

Combo Ability - Camera Flash
  • A one use-per-combo ability that deals significant damage to all zombies in the effect area.
  • Requires line of sight.
  • Deals 150 damage in an area.
  • Leveling duration does not effect Camera Flash as it has no duration.
  • Occasionally, this will increase combo, sometimes allowing you to double camera flash, but it's unreliable.

Mercenary
Aimbot expert. Shreds enemies without even trying, but no utility.

Special Item - A.L.P.S.
  • Acquires targets then blasts them with an explosive.
  • Can increase combo.
  • Does 100 damage to a single target, with reduced damage from the explosion.
  • Leveling this ability increases the target acquisition range.
  • 20 second duration, 6 second cooldown, has an extremely long wind-down time before cooldown begins.

Combo Ability - Focus Shoot
  • Equip a special pair of dual pistols and activate aimbot.
  • Automatically acquires targets, this can be sped up by mashing the fire button (bug?)
  • Deals 40 damage per shot.
  • Cannot use standard weapons while active.
  • 10 second duration.

Survivalist
A tanky area controller with a rolling touch of death.

Special Item - Blade Trap
  • Places a spinning blade that deals damage on contact with the blade.
  • Can increase combo.
  • Deals 100 damage initially, followed by 30 damage ticks on higher health enemies, pushing them around.
  • Leveling this ability increases the range slightly.
  • 20 second duration, 11 second cooldown, has a short wind-down time before cooldown begins.

Combo Ability - Ramming Shield
  • Envelops you with an invulnerability shield that damages enemies, and gives you an inital boost of speed in the direction of your cursor when used.
  • High health enemies can be hit multiple times with this if you walk away from them then walk back towards them.
  • Deals 100 damage on contact.
  • 3 second duration.

Scientist
A specialist that throws explosives and sucks up enemies into oblivion.

Special Item - Black Hole
  • Creates a small black hole which pulls in enemies in a small radius, crushing them and/or sending them oblivion.
  • Can increase combo.
  • Deals 100 damage on contact, instantly kills higher health enemies that are sucked in.
  • Leveling this ability increases the range slightly.
  • 20second duration, 14 second cooldown.

Combo Ability - Explosive Flasks
  • Automatically throw explosive flasks a set distance towards your cursor. They are subject to physics.
  • Each flask does 100 damage in an area.
  • Fixed range, a little movement speed helps.
  • Cannot use standard weapons while active.
  • Can increase combo if the last flask kills after the duration is ended.
  • 5 second duration, throws one flask per second.
Weapons
Zombie Massacre has a large number of weapons in multiple categories. They are dropped randomly by enemies.

Some are objectively better than others, and these are ordered from best to worst in each category.

Starting Weapons
These are what you default to when no other weapon is equipped. They have infinite ammo.
You can upgrade to a different weapon with points. These are listed by upgrade level.

Handgun
  • Deals 15 damage per shot.
  • It does the job.

Dual Handguns
  • Deals 12 damage per shot.
  • It does the job, but a little faster. Higher fire rate than Handguns.

Uzi
  • Deals 16 damage per shot.
  • This is probably what you'll want to stick with. High fire rate and decent damage.

Sawed-Off
  • Deals 16 damage per pellet.
  • Low spread.
  • A niche pick, its slow fire rate and low spread make it not as consistent as the Uzi in most cases. Has an automatic trigger.

Melee
Melee weapons all work the same. They deal very high damage and hit multiple targets in a cone shape, but put you close to enemies.
Since they work the same, higher damage usually means its better, but all melees are worth picking up.
Weapons have durability, this can be increased with ammo upgrades.

Damage Values:
  • Sledgehammer - 200
  • Medieval Sword - 200
  • Retro Guitar - 150
  • Guitar - 125
  • Katana - 125
  • Spiked Bat - 100
  • Axe - 50

Automatic
Automatic weapons deal consistent DPS and are overall a good choice to pick up.

M4A1
  • Deals 40 damage per shot.
  • 200 ammo capacity.
  • Medium fire rate.
  • High damage, decent fire rate, and huge ammo capacity make it overall the best weapon in the game.

Laser Rifle
  • Deals 25 damage per shot.
  • 125 ammo capacity.
  • Quick fire rate.
  • Does the same damage as Uzis at a slightly reduced fire rate, but its laser easily push through targets quickly and the tracers make it extremely easy to use.

Dual Uzis
  • Deals 25 damage per shot.
  • 125 ammo capacity.
  • Crazy fire rate.
  • It's the Uzi but it hurts more. Great gun.

Kimber
  • Deals 50 damage per shot.
  • 40 ammo capacity.
  • Low fire rate.
  • While technically a pistol, its trigger is automatic. A decent upgrade to the starting handguns but falls off in usefulness quickly.

Tommygun
  • Deals 15 damage per shot.
  • 50 ammo capacity.
  • Medium fire rate.
  • Worse than starting Uzi. Only pick this up if all you have is a handgun and nothing else available.

Semi-Auto
Semi-Auto weapons deal high single target damage, but lack DPS.

Magnum
  • Deals 90 damage per shot.
  • 25 ammo capacity.
  • Decent fire rate.
  • If you're gonna pick up a semi-auto, choose this one.

Crossbow
  • Deals 150 damage per shot.
  • 25 ammo capacity.
  • Very slow fire rate.
  • Highest base damage in the game, but can't even insta-kill a vampire and its slow as sin.

Bolt-Action Rifle
  • Deals 90 damage per shot.
  • 18 ammo capacity.
  • Slow fire rate.
  • Same damage as Magnum but lower fire rate and less ammo capacity. Pretty bad weapon.

Shotguns
With spreading pellets, shotguns can hit multiple targets and make quick work of crowds.

SPAS-12
  • Deals 15 damage per pellet.
  • 16 ammo capacity.
  • Average fire rate.
  • Medium spread.
  • Puts out consistent damage into a crowd, regularly hits multiple enemies.
Double Barrel
  • Deals 22 damage per pellet.
  • 16 ammo capacity.
  • Slow fire rate.
  • Wide spread.
  • A decent weapon, can kill multiple enemies at once in a crowd, but a little slow.

Auto-Shotgun
  • Deals 5 damage per pellet.
  • 20 ammo capacity.
  • Very high fire rate.
  • Tight spread.
  • This weapon is just the worst. It doesn't do much damage per pellet, it doesn't have much spread, and its ammo capacity is extremely low.

Explosive

Rocket Launcher
  • Deals 100 damage in an area.
  • 5 ammo capacity.
  • Very slow fire rate, but can be fired instantly after picking it up.
  • Blows up a lot of zombies at once but it's slow fire rate makes its usefulness limited.

Grenade Launcher
  • Deals 100 damage in an area, damage is reduced further away from explosion.
  • 8 ammo capacity.
  • Slow fire rate.
  • Grenades have a fixed distance and a small area of effect, its like explosive flasks but worse.

Special
Weapons that don't really fit into other categories. All of these are worth picking up regardless of their tier here, but they're not neccessarily better than all the standard weapons.

Minigun
  • Deals 25 damage per shot
  • 225 ammo capacity.
  • Ludicrously fast fire rate.
  • Really solid weapon, shreds enemies very quickly but runs out of ammo quickly too

Egon
  • Deals 12 damage per tick.
  • 400 ammo capacity.
  • Short range laser that does continuous damage ticks. Relatively reliable with a huge ammo pool, it is very effective against crowds but falls off against higher health enemies.

Chainsaw
  • Deals 20 damage per tick.
  • A fun but niche melee. Shorter range than standard ones but its high damage per tick and rapid damage ticks make it very good for tearing up crowds.
Dissector
  • Deals 25 damage per tick, reduced damage on bounces.
  • 10 ammo capacity.
  • Its projectile pierces enemies and can bounce, but its subject to physics and mostly just bounces into outer space.

Flamethrower
  • Deals 15 damage per tick.
  • 300 ammo capacity.
  • Can deal good damage to a single target but hits inconsistently while you're moving, making it not very useful for kiting (which is half of the game...)
Enemies and Bosses
Currently, there are a total of 4 enemy types and 1 boss in Zombie Massacre.
Special enemies do not spawn till the week starts to progress.
The boss is always faced on the sixth day.

Enemies
These are the standard enemies the hordes will be made up of.

Fodder
You're gonna be facing mostly these.
Low health, low damage, runs directly toward you, but can overwhelm and body block you in numbers.
Worth 50 points.

Crimson
Decent health, but not too dangerous. If you're hit they have a chance to ignite you, dealing damage over time and obscuring your screen.
Worth 75 points.

Dog
High health, high speed, and unusual movement patterns. Kill these first if you can.
Worth 75 points.

Vampire
Extremely fast, high health, and regeneration capabilities. Gets up in your face, make sure they don't touch you.
Worth 100 points.

Spiderling
The Queens minions, they aren't too much harder than Fodder.
Worth 75 points.

The Queen
The Queen is a giant spider boss. During the fight Spiderlings and Fodder will constantly spawn.
She has 3 attacks to look out for, damage resistance, and around 10,000 health while solo.

Acid Spit
Fires several pools of acid that deal damage over time as you stand in them.
Telegraphs with red circles, easy to avoid.

Web Ball
Throws 3 web balls in a line. Touching one of these will slow you down significantly for a time.
They can be destroyed but have a lot of health. Melees can destroy this very quickly.

Bite
A very high damage attack that can and will kill you if you're not careful, you won't see this much unless you're trying to melee her.

Tips:
  • Remember to kill enemies during the boss wave for extra money. Watch the timer though!
  • The best guns to use against her are M4A1, SPAS-12, and Minigun, as they deal good damage and cut through crowds effectively.
  • High damage melees such as Sledgehammer and Medieval Sword deal significant damage to her but put you at risk to get bit and surrounded by enemies. Best left to a Medic or Survivor.
  • She can be damaged by most abilities and this can take a significant chunk of her health if you keep her in range of them.

Zombie Massacre is a lucrative and consistent way to farm Units.
Here are the payouts you can get, based on solo hard mode.

This guide needs way more attention than it's currently had... The amount of detail shows the amount of effort put into detailing everything, very well laid out and presented ontop of all that.

Great guide! :slimetabby:
