How to make witcher 2 load faster
By Boby
Brief explanatio to speed up witcher 2 load times. This is only useful if you have been playing for a while, not useful if you are playing for the first time.

How to
I noticed that the game kept taking longer and longer to load each time I played. I searched a bit and it seems that the saves were causing increased loading times, so what we are going to do is delete old save files we no longer need

If not using steam cloud go to my documents->witcher2->saves
You can ignore the part below and just delete the saves you don't want anymore.

If using steam cloud

Before deleting, disable the steam cloud from the game or from game properties. If steam keeps restoring the deleted saves restart steam after disabling the steam cloud from the game and then delete the files.

The saves will be inside: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\NUMBERS\20920\remote

Now your game loads faster, congratz

Over 500 saves have been discovered. It is now clear why the game crashed after every fourth download. Thank you so much!

That is amazing, man. Thanks for that, I had this and another problem non related, but this fixed my loads. 200+ freaking files are bound to make the game lag.
Thanks a lot!

Well for me it increased all the load speeds. The one from the menu and the one from where you click contineu or load save, so if it worked for me, why shouldn't I write it?

You do not mention which screen and that is what I say you don't mention.
People assume it is the game itself because of that.

I do explain that in the very first sentence. "the saves were causing this"

Everything loads normally except the load game view which takes forever if you have too many save games.
Thing is the poster doesn't mention that specifically.
Point is keep your save game count as low as you can so that you don't encounter this situation and if you do... well that's the way to make THAT screen load normally.
