Achievements sorted chronologically

There are a few video guides out there but they are out of date, as there was a patch to the game that changed a lot of things. There are also a few websites that list Perception's achievements but in no particular order. So I decided to make a list of the achievements in chronological order.

Unmissable achievements

The following achievements are story-related and can't be missed, so I'll list them for completeness sake but you can go ahead and skip this section.

Achievements that require a decision before starting your playthrough

The following 3 achievements are the most diificult to unlock and require a commitment before you start your playthrough.

Fortune Favors...
Completed the game on Scary Mode

Select 'Scary Mode' as the difficulty setting when you start your playthrough. The Presence will be awakened by noise faster and, according to the description, he will be more aggressive - whatever that means. Also, the puppets that shoot at you will do more damage, so they'll take you down faster than on normal difficulty.


Overlooked
Never captured by The Presence

Unless you play on Scary Mode, this isn't very difficult to achieve, but it means you can't afford to make even one stupid mistake. Going for this achievement definitely makes the game more tense and exciting.


Quiet Knoll
Completed without tapping

I strongly suggest saving this one for a second playthrough, when you know the layout of the mansion a bit. It'll still be quite a challenge. I also suggest rebinding the key for tapping the cane to a key you're sure you won't press by accident. You don't want to risk pressing the tap button by accident in a moment of absent-mindedness.

Achievements to unlock as soon as you can use Cassie's phone

The following achievements can be unlocked at any time after you get the use of Cassie's phone, which is soon after the start of the game. So you may get these out of the way shortly after you've entered the mansion.

Tickled Pink
Listened to every Dearest Pinky song

Open the phone menu, scroll to 'music' and scroll through the different tracks. You don't need to listen to them completely, just starting each song is enough.


Snoop
Listened to all of Cassie's messages

This requires you to scroll through all of the voice mail messages and all of the text messages on Cassie's phone. You need to let all the messages play completely for the achievement to pop.

Note: this achievement is bugged for a lot of players, but there is a solution. If the achievement won't trigger for you, finish the game. Then go to the game's directory, delete all the save game files here, restart the game, play until you get in the mansion and can use Cassie's phone, and then go through all of the messages one by one, making sure you allow the audio file to complete every time.

Location of the save game files:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Perception\Saved\SaveGames

The 'AppData' folder is hidden by default, so you'll need to enable 'Show hidden files and folders' through Windows' settings if you don't see the folder.

Chapter 1 missable achievements

Briar Memento
Found all touchstones in Chapter 1

You just need to explore the entire mansion and check every room, and click on every item you can interact with. You'll see a counter in the top-right corner of your screen every time you find a 'touchstone'. There are 17 in chapter 1.

If you don't rush through the game and enter every room to check for 'touchstones' (items you can interact with), you will find them all. There are some video guides out there that can help you find the touchstones but all of them are made before a patch to the game changed a lot of things, including locations of touchstones. Also, at the very end of each chapter, when you reach the tree, there's one last item you have to click to end the chapter, which also counts as a touchstone and which none of the videos on YouTube show.

Found 2 Poppets in Chapter 1

There are 4 poppets in chapter 1 so this one is easy enough.


Still Doing This
Is it going to get old?

Playing through chapter 1 you will come across several toilets you can flush by interacting with them. The achievement will pop after flushing the third or fourth toilet you come across.


Ceres
Used the telescope

At the beginning of the game, when the game says the house is listening, you'll see a spiral staircase. Go up and walk straight ahead into the room in front of you. The telescope is in a corner of the room.



Mashi
Found Nanci Chang's takeout menu

You can't do this achievement until you got the pills from the car. Go through the kitchen into a room with a fireplace. Next to the fireplace is a table that has a menu on it. Pick it up and scan it with Delphi.



Kicked - part 1/5
Found 5 backer letters

After you leave the room where you saw a ghost face down in a bowl of food you will go through some double doors into a new area. To your left will be a spiral staircase. Go up the staircase and then go straight ahead through the double doors in front of you. On top of a table in this room is a letter you can scan with Delphi. This is the first of five letters you have to scan for this achievement.


Lloyd
Best damn bartender

When you reach the arcade area, go towards the bar (it has a recorder on it). Go around it so you end up behind the counter. There's a locked cabinet here. Open it with code 0237. Examine the bottles to unlock this trophy.


Backed
Found backer recording

Near the end of the chapter you have to go back to the rope you found at the beginning of the chapter. In the room with the rope, go through the door near the chest you can hide in. There's a recorder in the room. Interact with this recorder.

Van Hout Memento
Found all touchstones in Chapter 2

Found 2 Poppets in Chapter 2

One is in the storage room to your right immediately after you enter the mansion at the start of chapter 2. Another one is next to a bed in the room with many beds. A third one is on some barb wire through the double doors to your right as you enter the zone with lots of barb wire.


Maximized
What we do in life...

When you get to the cemetery, there are a couple of mausoleums on your right. Behind the furthest mausoleum is a Roman helmet. Interact with it to unlock the achievement.


Kicked - part 2/5
Found 5 backer letters

In the cemetery, the Presence will appear when you reach your target in the middle of the cemetery. To get away from it, you'll enter a shed. The second backer letter is on a round table in the shed. Scan it with Delphi.

Bosch Memento
Found all touchstones in Chapter 3

Found 2 Poppets in Chapter 3

I found three of them:

• Upstairs on one of the beds.
  
• After the puppets start shooting at you and you go upstairs, another one is in the sink in the small bathroom in this area.
  
• In the basement, on top of the fireplace's mantelpiece.

Kicked - part 3/5
Found 5 backer letters

Early on in this chapter, you'll go through a small hallway with a writing board. Facing the board, go through the door on your right. Go up the stairs in front of you. In this area are several rooms. The third letter is in the third room you'll come across. Scan it with Delphi.


Kicked - part 4/5
Found 5 backer letters

After you hit the switch and the dolls start shooting, make your way upstairs and flip a switch to shut off the electricity at the top of the stairs, so you can enter the door here. You'll arrive at a puppet that's shooting at you from across the hall. You can take cover, first on your left and then on your right. Right in front of the puppet, enter a room to the right. The fourth letter is on a table. Scan it with Delphi.


Kicked - part 5/5
Found 5 backer letters

From where you obtained the fourth letter, go across the hall into a corridor with a closet you can hide in. Continue on into the next hallway and turn left at the next junction. Again, you'll see a puppet shooting at you at the end of the hallway, but at a much shorter distance this time. Enter the room to your left to find the fifth and last letter. Scan it with Delphi to unlock the achievement.


Giddy Socialite
Found Kirby

After finding the poppet key, use it to open the door to the basement. In the basement, scan the four paintings to have Nick pretty much tell you a code to open the door (it's 4253). To your left is another locked door. To open this door enter code 0451. You'll come to another locked door, which requires code 0122 to unlock. Head all the way down the stairs and push the button.

Durham Memento
Found all touchstones in Chapter 4


Like It's Hot 4
Found 2 Poppets in Chapter 4

I found four:
• On the shelves in the room with rotting food (optional room near the start of the chapter)
• In the fireplace upstairs.
• On the table after climbing the stairway that you discover after using the key that opens the door in the back of the cupboard.
• After the part with the barn, when you're standing in front of the water, walk across the wooden floor to your left. The poppet is on a crate here.


I Hear Things Out Here
Found out what happened to the animals

After you grab the hammer in the barn the Presence will appear. Crouch and look to your right. You can interact with the planks here to remove them and crawl inside to hide. Doing this triggers the achievement.

Meta-achievements

If you manage to unlock all of the above achievements, you will automatically trigger the following achievements, as well.

The Doll Collector
Found every poppet

The description isn't accurate. The achievement unlocks when you've found 9 poppets. As there are 3 to 4 poppets in each chapter, you can unlock this as early as chapter 3.


Touching
Found every touchstone

This achievement unlocks as soon as you've unlocked the following four achievements:

• Briar Memento
  
• Van Hout Memento
  
• Bosch Memento
  
• Durham Memento

Spirit
Completed every chapter

This achievement unlocks as soon as you've unlocked the following four achievements:

• Wind
  
• Water

I wish you had put in some poppet locations for Chapter 1, because I only found one on my first playthrough, and I thought I was searching pretty thoroughly.

@FallLower the Abyss Finally, i done this. Deleted save helped with Quiet Knoll. But Overlooked not unlocked. I one more time deleted save and downloaded the game. Played on normal mod and get Overlooked in the final chapter when we killed creature. Thanks for the help. I hope you beat this achievement.

@Janteloven , I also had problems getting multiple achievements, so I just deleted the saves as described in the manual and went through the game again on easy difficulty without tapping (except in tutorial at the beginning). "Overlooked" still didn't count, but I finally got "Quiet Knoll". Try this option, maybe it will help ~

Hi. I have a problem with Quiet Knoll and Overlooked. I finished game 4 or 5 times without tapping, but still don't get this achievement. What i did wrong? Maybe spam action on closed doors failed my runs? Or tutorial tapping failed this achivment? And about Overlooked i tried easy mod, but didnt get. What could be the problem with these achievements? p.s. sorry for my english its not my first language

Congratz I don't think I'll ever try Quiet Knoll because it doesn't sound like fun, so this is one game I don't mind not 100%-ing.

I finally got this achievement on Scary mode and I got Quiet Knoll
(Completed without tapping) too, so, I Got 200,6% too. So, tks guys, I thinked it was very easy and I recorded the map on my mind LOL.

That should mean the apparition got you at least once during your game. If you're sure it didn't get you at all, you must have encountered a bug
