Welcome to this Leon "S+" B scenario guide!

Before we begin, this guide is making several assumptions: I assume that you have at least played both Leon A and Claire B... if you have not played either of these scenarios, I suggest backing out and enjoying the game as designed before venturing further! In addition to ruining your own experience, the guide will likely be difficult to follow if you have not at least completed these two scenarios once. It's not exactly necessary to have completed Leon B, as Leon B is just a combination of Leon A and Claire B. This guide will not be doing in depth boss walkthroughs, as - again - I'm assuming you've played this game at least twice and have a good understanding of them. As a trade off, I've included all puzzle solutions in this guide so you don't have to look back and forth like other guides on here...

This guide is not necessarily a speed running guide! While you will certainly complete the game "quickly", don't expect to break any world records with this guide. For reference, I completed the game while writing this guide in 1 hour and 53 minutes... with only 7 minutes to spare! Also for reference, other people are beating this game in less than an hour... so, this certainly is not a speed running guide, just a completion guide from a fellow amateur :)

Requirements to do this properly: You must complete the game in 2 hours or less, you must play on hardcore mode, you must not use any unlimited ammo firearms (the knife is okay, though I personally do these S+ runs without using "knife cheese"), and you can only save three times.

Regarding when to save: Everyone is different. The general consensus is before G1, G2, and G3. Personally, I find G1 and G2 to be extremely easy... I'll consider saving after them, but for me, the hardest parts of the game are the moments after Mr X moves the helicopter, the G-adult sewer room toward the king/queen plug (while maybe not "hard", it's annoying to get "right"), and the G3 fight. So I will generally save before/after these three events. Again, it's entirely up to you. This is another reason why it's preferred for you to have played the game before... so you know when to save.

Important things to note: The time is ticking down at all times, unless you are paused or while you are watching the cutscenes. Keep this in mind before fiddling around in the inventory screen or item box for too long! Get in, and get out! If you happen to die, remember to load game instead of continue. You may or may not have to load the game twice... for some reason when I load the game once, it doesn't reset my time correctly to that save. Try to make a mental note of your time at each save, and verify if/when you have to load game after a death.

Regarding Claire B: You can find my Claire B scenario S+ guide here - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1666309490

That being said... let's get on with it!
Intro RPD up to G1 battle
- grab r+b herbs on way to door
- grab cutter, dodge zombies to save room
- grab and bank items except m19, ammo, key, and cutter
- stun/dodge zombies, use/discard key, grab ammo and wooden board, head to east hall
- go to restroom, grab first aid spray
- go to shutter door, grab knife by shutter and shotgun shells on shelf by save room
- in save room, grab/bank items except m19, ammo, cutters, board, and fuse
- go to east office, use cutters, grab flashbang, ammo and valve
- use fuse on shutter to main hallway
- go to west hallway, grab herb+ammo on the way
- walk in hallway to avoid licker, board window by club door (you might be wondering why... this is vital in avoiding a scary scenario later in the game. just trust me), go to operations room
- grab ammo and map in operations, use/discard cutter on side door, grab detonator and herb and flashbang
- run across to west office
- in side office, open safe 9-15-7 for pouch
- head toward dark room, but go to 2F first to get rid of valve (leave other items in that room for later), then up to 3F, stunning/dodging as needed and grabbing handgun ammo on stairwell
- grab ammo and leg zombie on 3F, open locker DCM for ammo, get spade key
- go through to the library, get red book, unlock spade door
- if speed running, avoid zombies in library. If not, leg/kill all zombies. Use the knife in the library to help if you have room. this doesn't take very long, and helps you avoid hairy situations later in the game. If you choose to kill/leg them, move the shelves as much as you can so it's faster later. Get handgun ammo behind left most shelf
-if you have two open spaces, go to lounge and grab unicorn medal (twins, scales, worm) and upper floors map, otherwise we will get this later
- exit to main hall, get ammo to the right on bench, then get lion medallion (crown, fire, bird), place in goddess, unlock spade door for west office, then go upstairs toward waiting room. Leg/kill female zombie on 2F main hall
- unlock spade door in waiting room and discard key
- go to art room, get weapon keycard and red jewel. Walk out to avoid licker
- stun/dodge fire zombies as needed back to main hall. no need to kill them, they disappear later
- go through west office to weapons room, get shotgun+shells with keycard
- stun/leg/kill zombies as needed in hallway. You wont be returning here, so killing is not necessary. Flashbang also a good option
- go to 2F locker room, open bejeweled box for STARs badge, open CAP locker and others for ammo and gunpowder and get ammo on bench to STARs office
- use badge in office for magnum (if you have room and want the magnum long barrel attachment, bring the badge back with you, but keep in mind you are headed straight to the G1 fight from this room and you need a minimum of two slots for the medallions. The long barrel isn't entirely necessary, but at the same time it isn't really difficult to get at this point... use your judgment), get ammo, flashbang, aid spray, and combine 9volt with detonator
- if first time playing Leon B, grab the Claire note by the computer for help with Lore Explorer achievement
- dodge, flash, or stun Mr X and go to library
- grab unicorn medallion on the way (twins, scales, worm), if you didn't earlier
- go to 3F library to use the detonator, but stand in the doorway so that the shelf doesn't block the door, grab maiden medallion (ram, harp, bird)
- place the last two medallions in the goddess statue and prep for G1 fight
- fight G1 as you please, I personally use the m19 and the mag, with a knife and frag grenades (remember to grab the frag grenade on the bottom stairwell on your way to G1, use the badge to get the long barrel if you kept it with you, and to also collect any and all items in the G1 boss room afterward)
- you should be about 30 minutes in now
Parking garage up to sewers
- go up ladder, get herb in room on the right. follow path to parking garage. bank all items but m19, ammo, defense item, and heal item. trigger + follow Ada to jail cell room
- get crank by poor Ben
- go to opposite side of garage through kennel to morgue, grab the flashbang in the last "shelf" on the right. skip the diamond key, we do not need it. this also won't trigger the zombies in the room, which is an added bonus
- use crank in hallway, get herb and electronic part in generator room, power generator down up up down
- avoid dogs (or shoot if you really want to, but you should be able to dodge them very easily) through kennel, back up to RPD break room
- use grenade or leg/stun shutter zombies, go up fire escape, then use/discard crank in that hallway
- go to 3F, get flash+ammo in lockers
- get large gear in storage room; consider legging the zombies in there as you will be passing through here again later with a certain big fella on your tail
- out to roof, fall down ladder
- down to boiler room, get herbs, flip water, leg or stun two zombies to get club key in back room
- bank spare items as needed, but make sure to bring a flash and the large gear
- flush water, get ammo on bench and herbs toward Mr X
*!!!difficult part warning!!!*
- juke/stun/flash Mr X
- go to 1F east hallway
- walk in hallway to avoid lickers toward the club key room, be careful of zombies that may have come through the window, but they shouldn't be there (and make sure to laugh at the one banging on your "useless" wooden board, too :D)
- get jack + frag grenade
- flashbang to get out of room if needed; you could have lickers, zombies, and Mr X in this hallway. check before you throw the grenade, though. you might not need it
- go to 2F library, use jack and move shelves up to 3F main hallway
- jump right into the clocktower (you can avoid the zombie if you're fast enough, otherwise stun him)
- solve gear puzzle, get electronic part, and get the large gunpowder in the back room if needed
- get green herb just outside of door, dodge/stun zombies, go across the hall to the 3F storage room
- stun/dodge zombies in storage room, go down the stairs to 2F, down the fire escape, back through the shutter door, stun/dodge zombies down stairs back to parking garage
- get both electronic parts from bank down the ladder, bring at least 1 grenade with you as well, you will definitely need it
- head to jail, solve electronic puzzle:
1 0 1 0
0 1 0 0
1 3 1 0
0 1 1 0
- get first aid spray and parking garage badge from Mr Ben
- open cells, and dodge zombies/Mr X to the left hallway, using grenades as needed
- use card to escape parking garage and over to visit daddy Kendo
- borrow shotgun upgrade + grenade + ammo from Kendo, he's a nice guy and will let you pay him back later
- follow path to sewers
Sewers up to G2 battle
- complete gator and Ada segment (shouldn't need to write this out... you completed Leon A already, right!? when you're playing as Ada, just remember that when you open the door to spawn Mr X, use the spy gun to the top left of the door to trigger the fan in the room in front of you. the rest is self-explanatory)
- back as Leon, follow sewers, right at the fork
- leg the zombies in the rook plug room; you will be returning here
- go over the bridge, down the sewers toward the monitor room
- shoot G-adult and dodge him, then get out of the water before he gives you the thicc
- get ammo and items in cable car room, open locker SZF
*...and now, for possibly the most annoying part of the game...*
- bank extra items, bring what you are comfortable with to go to the king/queen room, while also leaving as much space open as possible (complicated... right?). everyone has their own method for this. the important part is to leave item space for the flamethrower, 3 plugs, and as many extra items as you can. i like to bring the shotgun fully loaded + 3 or so shells; this way you can kill the zombies required, and trigger G-adults. also bring at least 1 defense item and a knife. you shouldn't need to bring a healing item, there are some on the way to help you, but it doesn't hurt to bring 1 as well
- in any event... if you do bring the shotgun, head over to the safe in the pool room and get the stock (2-12-8); if you aren't bringing the shotgun with you, get this later. don't bother with the herb by the zombie or else you'll wake him from his peaceful slumber... he sure looks comfy, right?
- go by cable car to get T bar and consider grabbing the herbs as well, or leave them for later
- if this is your first time playing Leon B, get a file from Claire for the Lore Explorer achievement, it's right next to the T bar
- go down the stairs toward the sewer, leg/kill 3 zombies in this room (you can knife the one that is sleeping on the side), you will be returning here and it's a cramped spot for 3 zombies. grab the green herb in here, or save it for later. there's also a frag grenade in the water; if you brought a frag with you go stack it, if not, get it later
- go down the other stairwell into the Hell Zone
- skip the sewer key; we aren't using that. go down ladder, again consider grabbing herb. shoot to wake up the first G-adult and run around it. as you continue on, another one will start lunging at you. if you hang enough to the right, you should avoid his grab. alternately, you can shoot his face a bit to "stun" him, or just let him grab you and shove a grenade in him. a third one spawns from a pipe ahead, but if you hang all the way to the left, you should avoid him just fine. lastly, there is a zombie in the water. i highly recommend killing him. you can wait until you are out of the water before blowing his head off
- get flamethrower, king and queen plug in the next room, along with any additional items you can carry (herbs, etc). stun/kill the zombies in this room. one trick is to walk up those stairs so that one zombie falls, then going to knife him, instead of letting him get up and wasting a bullet or two
- this next part is kind of hard to guide, because i think the G-adults can be placed randomly now. your best bet is to hang as close to the left as possible, and you should be able to avoid them all. to conserve your ammo, you can use the flamethrower to pop them up if they are sleeping
- go back where you came from, open sewer gate, and follow that pathway, grabbing frag grenade (if you didn't get before) and high power powder if you can
- use T-valve to go up lift, get rook plug and extra items if possible, then head back to the monitor room the way you came. you may need to dodge a G-adult by using the "wake up" method
- solve chess puzzle:

King||||||||||||||Knight

Bishop||||||||||Rook

Queen||||||||||Pawn
- prepare for G2 fight using the load out of your choice. do note that the flamethrower is extremely powerful vs this phase. optimally, you will want to use only the flamethrower. whatever you do, knock him down 3 times then use the crane. remember there is a g+r+b herb on the way, so you can choose not to bring a heal item if you feel comfortable with one. there is also a knife, flash, and pistol/mag ammo in the boss room. generator power is down up up up. there is an "invincible" spot if you stand near the garden hose/buckets by the generator power. shoot his arm when it comes down to speed up the process (if you do enough damage he will only strike twice)
- make sure to retrieve any unused items in the boss room once he's done, and follow path to Ada/lab
- should be around an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes now
NEST and several boss battles
- at the lab, get items/map from security room, bank extras (you are coming back to the bank soon and only facing one or two zombies, so pack light), and head toward the café
- in the café, grab the flamethrower ammo and avoid all zombies by running left of the eating lady. make sure to pause for a second for a brief announcement regarding your lunch tomorrow... or later, if you're weird and playing this in the morning...
- go up the ladder, down the ladder, grab items in kitchen
- kill, leg, or stun the USS soldier zombie. he looks funny
- go to the nap room, grab flamethrower upgrade, shotgun shells, and security chip
- go back to reception, bank extras, head toward main hall
- grab the modulator off the fallen USS man
- OPTIONAL... go back to the nap room and use the modulator to get an extra pouch if you need it. it only takes a minute if you are free on time and want the extra storage space
- head over to the east hallway... bring just shotgun if you want to be fast and stun/dodge the ivy's and have a hard time when Mr X arrives, or bring the flamethrower if you want to watch the world burn and have an easier time when Mr X arrives. make sure to also have at least one knife on you, and of course the modulator and wrist band. there are some herbs on your way, and you really shouldn't be taking any damage, so you probably won't need healing. make sure you have a defense item, or several! the ivy is a one hit kill if you get grabbed and have no defense!
- follow the path, dodge/kill ivy, grab flash and cartridge, solve the two codes to open mixing station and the ladder (think of it as a keypad, 2048 & 5831). while you are putting these numbers into the device, give a quick (and possibly sarcastic) thank you to capcom for not randomizing these, as it completely negates 50% of the lab...
- go through the green house into that control room, grab frag and gun powder if possible and solve chemical puzzle: Blue, Red, Green, Blue, Red, Green, Blue, Red, Green
- dodge/kill ivy's down the ladder chute
- knife sleeping zombies in the lobby area; you know why... then use modulator and grab items in the room
- go to server room, get and bank extra items. still have modulator, wrist band, flamethrower, and defense item(s) handy
- walk down the licker hallway to the door on the left; be slow but be fast... you should avoid the automatic lunge of the second licker if you enter the door fast enough
- make herbicide in the freezer room
- walk back toward the ladder, avoid the stairwell area completely
- consider killing the rest of the ivy's in the greenhouse room before the arrival of the big fella to give you dat discipline, otherwise, just head to the control room
- use herbicide, listen to a robot scold you for what you've done, get wrist band upgrade, and get out of there ASAP, stunning/killing ivy's on your way. don't look back, carl
- go to the west hallway, use modulator, get G sample, and gear up for the G3 fight. focus on bullets and knives, and save as many grenades as you can for the final Mr X battle. remember that there's also a lot of bullets, items, and 1 first aid spray in the G3 boss room
- you need at least 20 minutes for the last boss fights. if you are over 1 hour and 40 minutes at this point, i would think about where you might've lagged behind and go back to an earlier save
- the rest of this is self explanatory... after killing G3, try to take the shotgun with you to stun the 3 ivy's that will get in your way on the last escape, and when you get the rocket launcher on the super tyrant fight, focus your aim and kill him in two shots. if you have ammo or grenades on you, use them to kill the zombies blocking the door, and save the last two rockets for G5. if not, just blow them up with a rocket and pretend i didn't waste your time with this babble
- bring every last bullet to G5, and pray you made it all within 120 minutes...!
"You'll never get your hands on the G..."
Success! If this all worked out, you should be unlocking several achievements right about now! Congratulations on trivializing the game! Enjoy your achievement(s)! You're a big kid now!

I hope this guide helped you achieve your goals! If there's anything confusing on here or that could be explained better, please let me know and I will review it!

I also ran out of ammo for 3 guns on super tyrant and 5 seconds later the rocket dropped.
finished G5 with 4 magnum shots and 1 rocket (since I had to use one on the zombies at the door).

Thanks a lot. this is the most readable guide I could find for this.
Just enough pointers on what to pick up but still keeping it flexible.
Used this guide and the one from Claire to do both 2nd runs on S+ (with 15~ minutes to spare).
Now I only got 3 achievements left to do and some stuff in the in game list.

Vance, if you die, you have to press Load Game twice (or press Continue, then press Start, then Load Game, and load your last save), or the timer won't reset. I would start over if you're going for S, because you're never gonna make it already being at an hour at that point. Unless the time requirements are different on standard... I don't think they are, though
Colonel Vance Apr 8, 2020 @ 1:05pm
I'm using this guide to get S on Standard mode, I just got to Ada's part and I'm at 1:09:00, I think either the game is still not resetting the timer, or I took too long and won't be able to complete it.

But thanks, it's a good guide despite be being the worst player.

Great guide! Don't get discouraged if you don't quite have 20 minutes to spare before the G3 fight. I had about 15 minutes left and didn't think I'd make it but I did with less than a minute to spare. I used the magnum and flamethrower on G3 and all my remaining 8-9 grenades/flashbangs and then the shotgun on Tyrant and barely survived on danger health. For G5 don't waste ammo before you see his eye but as soon as he opens it unload. One rocket and a few shotgun blasts did it for me. Doing the Claire B hardcore run now and it seems to be going faster. I find getting S+ on the B scenarios quite a bit more challenging than the A scenarios. The half hour less you get really makes a difference.

Hey guys, your kind words motivated me to make a Claire B scenario S+ guide... here it is! Also, I've made some subtle changes to this guide after finding some easier (or, different) details while doing Claire B. Thanks so much for your words of encouragement, and I hope these guides help you!

Nice guide MVP, cheers! Really appreciated the effort you put in it.
Glad to see there's still people who does stuff like this. Some times I'd rather read the whole thing that see it on youtube. Besides some parts are way better to see it write down.
