How to easilly kill Golems without exploits Hoplite style
By Pierdzimir
Hi there,
I decided to make a guide on how to easily kill golems, since a lot of new players struggle against them. Many experienced players kill them by glitching them or using other exploits, since it's easy and reliable. In this guide i will demonstrate to you how to use their biggest strength ( their size) against them.

1) Locate nearest archway or doors.
2) Get golem attention, and than run like hell to your designated defensive position, Pheidippides style.
3) Form one man shield wall, Bardin Goreksson or Greek Hoplite style.
4) In this part you must make sure that golems do not get through the doors. They can't use their long halbards effectively in close quarters. it's important that you are aggressive, and do no let any through. Poke with your weapon whenever you'll see an opening. I suggest using spear in combination with shield, or 2h spear (it's less safe, but might be more convenient if first golem dies in the middle of the doorway)
5) Use only stabs, they are quick, have very long reach, and won't get stuck on environment.
6) Keep stabbing until they're all dead.

If a golem gets through, just rush him, chances are he will back down. If not you can do 2 things, back down a few steps, so that the other golem will go through, charge them both, run through the archway/door, and just go back to the usual stabbing just from the other side. If for whatever reason you feel like you won't make it, fall back to doorway B. There are a lot more doors than there are golems.

Watch the video to get the idea. i hope this will help.

using the environment isn't an exploit, it's kinda part of the game

This is an exploit by definition. You abuse both AI and level design to get an advantage. It's not intended by the developers either. For example you can kill Sir easily by intended methods, but you can also make him stuck the same way and have a much much easier fight.

It's a tactic, not exploit, i took them to where their size was an disadvantage. Why would i engage them where they had a better position? This is a very unique game, where environment and positioning is just as crucial as skill. Same principle applies to fencing, if you are against 2 or more opponents of equal skill, you want to move to the position where they can engage you only one at the time, or at least have your back protected.

This still is somewhat of an "exploit" because you're exploiting how the AI works and won't make one of them move in. Only thing stopping them from moving in is your footwork and placement.
That, and well yeah, you are also kind of "exploiting" the environment and the size of the Golems as well as the length of their weapons which will catch on their mate or the walls when swinging.
So all that's left is thrusts, which you can easily avoid with footwork.

All in all, it's just another way to exploit the Golems, despite it being a very good way of dealing with them.
