Disable Adaptive Difficulty
By KVG88
A simple cheat table solution to disable the game's adaptive difficulty, if you should feel so inclined to do so.
UPDATE: The CT file has been updated and is now working with the latest update.

What is Adaptive Difficulty?
Adaptive Difficulty is a feature of RE2R that is found in the Standard and Hardcore difficulty modes. As you play, the game adapts the difficulty setting based on your performance. The better you perform, the harder it gets and the worse you perform, the easier it gets. If you're an adept shot, you can pretty much max out the rank in the first hour or so of play which limits all of your guns damage to 70% of their original values, which can make zombies feel like bullet sponges.
What will disabling Adaptive Difficulty do?
It will lock the game's difficulty at Rank 5, giving you a more consistent experience regardless of how well or bad you play. In testing, I found that disabling Adaptive Difficulty saved me anywhere between 3-5 bullets per encounter (before disabling, I was at rank 8), which by the end of the game could save you a lot of ammo and frustration.
Installation
STEP 1:

Download the latest version of Cheat Engine[www.cheatengine.org]

STEP 2:

Once you've installed the program, you can download the Cheat Table for disabling the Adaptive Difficulty here[www.dropbox.com].

STEP 3:

Open up Cheat Engine and the game; Alt+Tab out of the game into Cheat Engine and click the glowing green and red icon that depicts a monitor and a magnifying glass. From the pop-up list, select Resident Evil 2 Remake. If you're new to Cheat Engine, all this does is hook the game so the cheats work.

STEP 4:

Next, click the Open button (looks like a folder) which is located on the right of the button that was previously glowing and select the cheat table file you downloaded in STEP 2.

STEP 5:

Down to the bottom you'll now see two categories, Rank and Score. Right click on Rank and select Change Record -> Value and set the value to 5. Now do the same thing for Score and set the value to 5500.

STEP 6:

Check off the boxes under the active category to lock your entries in place, thus disabling the Adaptive Difficulty. If you fail to complete this step, the values will reset if you have to reload the game. Be sure to repeat this process every time you start the game. Enjoy!
Additional Information
If you'd like to change the Difficulty to something other than rank 5, here are the values to use.

Set Score:
5,000 ~ 5,999 = Set rank to 5.
6,000 ~ 6,999 = Set rank to 6.
7,000 ~ 7,999 = Set rank to 7 and so on.

Weapon Damage Multiplier based on Rank:
Rank 5: x1.0 (base starting rank for standard)
Rank 6: x0.9
Rank 7: x0.8
Rank 8: x0.7
Rank 9: x0.65

Credits
All credit goes to JpDeathBLade for finding this out and thevaultdweller06 for pointing me in the right direction. All I did was create the table to use the findings.

Credit also goes to Stein for the data found in the Additional Information section.

Hey any news on how to disable Adaptive Difficulty on the last update? Using fearless cheat engine does not change the damage the player receive. Plus I'd like to be able to chose and set my rank and score for AD (maybe 8 and 8500)
I've tried finding the new adresses myself on Cheat Engine but wasn't successful.
As for the new adresses given by someone in the thread they do not seem to work for me.
Help would be appreciated.

Some people found how the adaptive difficulty system worked and it was pretty complicated. Every time you pick an item will have you score increased. Handgun ammo equals 40 points per shot, shotgun ammo equals 50 points per shot, magnum ammo equals 140 points per shot. All kinds of herb have same score, 40 points. The first aid spray equals 120 points. Small gunpowder equals 50 points, yellow or white powder equals 100 points. Fire Grenade used by Claire equals 50 points per shot. Machine gun ammo equals 4 point per shot. That is all I can memorize. All in all, the bastard who came up with this notorious adaptive difficulty system just want you to run, don't fight, don't use weapon, don't eat herb, don't pick up ammo, just run, run until you run into an inevitable battle(what if I don't have enough ammo....)

It seems the adaptive difficulty system had gone rogue. I don't know whether Capcom had issued a new update. I played the New Game + this morning, using Leon, and the difficulty I chose was standard. The strange thing was, all the enemies became very tough at the very beginning of the game. It took about 8 shots in the head when I used the M19 to deal with the zombies. It seems the enemies were all strengthened. Now all the enemies from standard difficulty are as tough as the how they are in the hardcore mode. Not only their endurance, their speed is also strengthened. I asked my friend who played the PS4 version and he said he didn't feel any differences. It seems Capcom knows about the truth that PC version allows players to cheat and to use mod so they secretly issued a update to punish the PC players. I hope my assumption is not true, but, if it was, then Capcom could kiss my ass.

Hey, still haven't had any luck getting this to work. However, there's another method to getting around the adaptive difficulty.

Use the current version of the Fearless Cheat Table.

http://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?t=8539

Enable the damage modifier and set it to 1.4 damage. That will allow you to do 100% damage values at rank 9.

However, be sure to turn off REnet when you do this. Since 1.03, they've been issuing soft bans for cheats.

So is this ever getting fixed or what?

Well, I just don't understand those who criticize KVG88 for releasing the method of disabling the adaptive difficulty. If you are or you think you are a hardcore who's invincible and wants more challenge, you can just ignore all of this and start experiencing the game at hardcore difficulty. Everyone has his or her own life and trouble. As for me, I'm not young anymore and I've got lot of things to worry about in my real life and I don't have time for the unnecessary trouble. By the way, this is not an online game so cheating is not harming anyone. Why would someone bother to criticize those who just want to have fun in their own way.....

Still working on fixing it; recent update broke the CT.

The table doesn't even work any more.
