well i used a phoenix down on him first try gave him death. and i got 2 phoenix downs from it.

simple... but theres no fun doing it like that :p

Phoenix Downs have a chance to miss. X-Potions will always hit and are easily attainable in the Wutai area (which is a few areas after this fight). They drop off mobs constantly.

Yea, as RAZGRIZ said: use a phoenix down. Same effect for a much less valuable item.

The age old Final Fantasy tactic of killing the undead with healing. I accidentally killed him with a phoenix down the first time I fought him, and from then on that became my MO with undead.

The reason he used an X-Potion is because Phoenix Downs can actually "Miss" undead enemies in this game, whereas potions do not. And, yeah, that particular item is scarce at that point in the game, but when were you ever going to use them anyway?

Had to use this trick while playing against him on Hardcore Mod. Pretty sick boss to fight head on.

its much cheeper to use a pheonix down = instant death
