After beta Update#2 we got it confirmed that it is not a real secret safe.

Payday: The Heist has always been famous for hiding many cleverly hidden secrets and so far we are already starting to uncover a small layer of the surprises to come in Payday 2.

As one of many, I have been enjoying the Payday 2 beta very much. Within the first day of the beta I managed to reach the level cap of 25, and after the reset I am still enjoying climbing the ranks.

What Happend Again?! And How?!

I joined an in progress, 1 star “Jewelry Store” game, and I happened to join just as they were stealth. They managed to do pretty well. I was out in the left office where the necklaces are, when suddenly I heard the drill sound. I went over to check, the first thing I noticed was that the sound is coming from the wall between the two offices, in front of the small hallway. I then ran over to the other office when I noticed there is no safe there.

I found it very odd and at first I figured it must have just been a sound bug or something similar since we are in beta territory. But then something happened that puzzled me...

The Drill Jammed.

Huh?

Knock Knock!, Whos There?, Drill!

And I could fix the drill...

Why and How Could This Happen and Final Words...

Now why could this happen? Well we all know that there is a lot of random elements that can happen in any map of Payday 2.

It could be because of when the safe or the big bin in the back alley randomly switches position in the map. This is so they don't have to load new assets every time you load the level.

it could be possible that they just hide the safe inside the wall when the safe is not in the office position.

Or it could be a secret safe?!..... Maybe

EDIT: Did some extra exploring on it while livestreaming and can confirm that there is an actual second "secret?" safe behind the wall!

What is in the safe?, how do you get inside the room?.... No one knows... yet.

I opened the safe stealthy up and the bain said: "Ooh! It's empty! How could it be?!". I think it's a glitched empty safe that's outside of the walls. Maybe you need a satchel charge to get there and open it properly, as bain tells you that, if you have no time, you should use a satchel charge if you have one, which could be a possible hint.

Just spittin' some ideas here.

On the container in the back of the store is a sticker with the company name on it. 1Sh0t1K1LL, TeamAlpha; H001igan, J4CK3L. TeamBravo, and an adress; 41 Arena Way 9th Floor NY NY. I don't think the safe is far enough back to be in the container but an interesting find none-the-less.

The Mission we saw in some of the early gameplay videos was "Ukranian Job" instead of the "Jewelry heist". Although it is at the same location some of the hings are different.
I suspect the Secret room to be leftovers from the other mission in which this room may be accesible

@RaptorHeadJesus. i doubt it, the safe is inside that wall wether that container is there or not.
it is most likely what @Stitches say is true. again we properly wont know much untill the full game gets released.
