How to use a xbox (x-input) type controller for chips challenge.
If your controller doesn't show up as a x-box or x-input type device, make sure your controller doesn't have a software to rebind your controller keys to keyboard inputs.

If you got a working controller go ahead and download you some open source software called Gopher 360 here: https://github.com/Tylemagne/Gopher360
It's the green bar that says "Download Gopher360 Standalone" i know, easy to miss for some.

Make sure your controller is on, connected, and working, now start up Gopher360, this will emulate your D-pad inputs to the keyboard arrow keys, instead of the normal POV input windows see by default. Now start up chip's challenge, go into settings, and reset the movement keys by pushing the butttons you want on the d-pad. Now sit back, relax, and chip away!

To revert your controller back to regular input just close gopher360, if that don't work just disconnect your controller, give a few seconds and reconnect.

You can also customize gopher to emulate different keyboard inputs if you care to read the documentation and mess with the .ini Sorry for those analog stick lovers, but this game is probably better off without it.
