Magebuster Full Guide and Walkthrough

This is a full guide on understanding what makes Magebuster "tick" as well as a practical walkthrough to help anyone who might be having trouble to see all this game has to offer.

Warning: There are spoilers, but most of them will be censored.

Introduction

Thank you for playing Magebuster: Amorous Augury!

This guide will help you unlock all of the endings and CG as quickly and simply as possible. There are a number of challenges presented for the protagonist (Xarric) by the antagonist (Sophia).

WARNING: This guide will contain spoilers about the combat and plot after this point, but I will try to use spoiler tags as much as possible when relevant.

Dialog and Combat

Magebuster’s game play revolves around two devices: Dialog and Combat.

First Is Dialog

In most dialogs you are given a choice between three options, what option you select has a direct impact on what ending you are able to see, with some endings harder to achieve than others.

The choices are geared to specific story paths: Hypnosis (End4), Rampage (End5), and Romance (End6).

The Romance End requires 5 of 5 romance choices to be made. Rampage and Hypnosis End requires 4 of 5 respective choices. And the Abduction End only requires that one of these other conditions is not met.

If you regret a choice or want to see what the themes of the other paths are, you can mouse wheel up to pick a different path so long as you are out of combat and you have not moved 50+ frames of dialog in the script.

The second part is combat.

Combat is unavoidable and broken into phases. During these phases Sophia will attack in a pattern. Countering that pattern is your primary goal (unless you are going for End 1 or 2).

Xarric and Sophia have the same abilities with a time value "Wait" listed for each. Except for moments when Sophia goes into a "overdrive" mode.

It’s worth noting that Xarric has a small advantage in that if there is a tie for "Wait" timers, his ability will activate before Sophia’s and he has a chance to select another before Sophia can finish casting.

Both Xarric and Sophia’s health are persistent between phases. If a phase goes poorly it can be impossible to win the next phase due to lack of health.

Losing will unlock ether End 1 or 2 depending on what phase you’re on.

Endings

HEAVY SPOILERS! Yee have been warned!

Magebuster has a total of 6 endings you can achieve through play. Your actions throughout the game will determine what ending you see.

Other than endings 1-3, every ending requires specific dialog choices to be made in a certain amounts to trigger that ending.

The endings are as follows:

Ending 1: Femdom/Sadist ending – Features Xarric being sexually abused by Sophia.

Ending 2: Infatuation/Yandere ending- Features the Xarric being raped by Sophia.

Ending 3: Abduction ending- Features Xarric turning into a tentacle monster and violating Sophia.

Ending 4: Hypnosis/Mind control ending- Features Xarric taking control of Sophia and her becoming a willing slave to him.

Ending 5: Rampage/Freedom ending- Features Xarric breaking free and raping Sophia’s master.

Ending 6: Love/Romance ending- Features Xarric and Sophia falling in love and consensual sex.

Walkthrough

This will give you a fast and easy path to unlock all of the endings. NOTE: There will be notices to save at points to make starting a new playthrough unnecessary.

Though it is not required, following the walkthough step by step until you reach the end of the "Ending 2" route is recomended before skiping to an ending you want to see.

As everything beyond this point is more or less a spoiler, SPOILER TAGS WILL NO LONGER BE USED!

Starting - Optional Ending 1

Dialog 1:

• Choose “Boast about my power.”

Combat Phase 1:

• Open with Ice Shard, Shield, then Shock Bolt. Shield against Sophia’s Ice Shard and then Shock Bolt right after for the rest of the phase.

• Step by Step: Ice Shard, Repeat (Shield, Shock Bolt)

****SAVE NOW**** From this point on endings will become impossible to see depending on your choice. This will be called “Save1” and will be called on to save time.

Dialog 2:

• Chose: “That’s an impressive deduction.” (Romance)

Dialog 3:

• Chose: “They relive my boredom.” (Romance)

Combat Phase 2:

****SAVE NOW**** (Save2)

Optional:

• Cast Shield repeatedly until you run out of health.
  
• This will unlock Ending 1
  
• After you are returned to the title screen, load 'Save2'.

Optional Ending 2

Combat Phase 2:

• Since Sophia casts in a pattern, casting Fireball 7 times, followed by heal 5 times, and finshed by 5 more fireballs will get you through this phase without issue.

• Step by step: Fireball X 7, Heal X 5, Fireball X 5

Dialog 4:

• Chose: “Her book.” (Romance)

Dialog 5:

• ****SAVE NOW**** (Save3)

• Chose: “You’re fun to tease” (Hypnosis) This will start the path to Ending 3.

Combat Phase 3:

• Open with Fireball. Then Shield both her opening attacks. Then cast Fireball three times until Sophia’s Fireball is about to hit. Repeat until the phase is over. If done properly, you should take no damage this phase.

• Step by Step: Fireball, repeat (Shield 2x, Fireball 3X)

Combat Phase 4:

• ****SAVE NOW**** (Save4)

Optional:

• Cast Shield until you lose.
  
• This unlocks Ending 2. (Enjoy the Konosuba reference)

Note: From here you are free to pursue any ending you wish in this walkthrough.

Ending 3

Load Save4.

Combat Phase 4:

• This is where it gets tricky as Sophia will now change her attacks depending on what you are casting. Open with Shield, Fireball twice, Shield again, Fireball twice again, then Ice Shard to get Sophia to Shield. Shield as soon as you can and then Fireball twice more to win the fight. You should be around 50% health at this point.

• Step by step: Shield, Fireball, Fireball, Shield, Fireball, Fireball, Ice Shard, Shield, Fireball, Fireball.

Combat Phase 5:

• Sophia gets a chunk of her health back and her abilities get a damage boost, but she goes back to a set pattern. Open with Shield, then Shock Bolt; as she will Shield, Heal, and Shield again before attacking. Ice Shard, then Shield twice again to block her empowered attacks. Shock Bolt, Ice Shard, Shield, Shield, repeat until victory.

• Step by step: Shield, Shock Bolt, Ice Shard, Shield, Shield, Shock Bolt, Ice Shard, Shield, Shield, Shock Bolt, Ice Shard, Shield, Shield, Shock Bolt, Ice Shard.

This will unlock Ending 3.

Ending 4

Load Save1

Dialog 2:

• Chose: “You’ve been watching me closely~!” (Hypnosis)

Dialog 3:

• Chose: “They actually enjoy it.” (Hypnosis)

Combat Phase 2:

• Same as before. Since Sophia casts in a pattern, casting Fireball 7 times, followed by heal 5 times, and finshed by 5 more fireballs will get you through this phase without issue.

• Step by step: Fireball X 7, Heal X 5, Fireball X 5

Dialog 4:

• Chose: “The candles” (Hypnosis)

Dialog 5:

• Chose: “You’re fun to tease.” (Hypnosis)

Combat Phase 3:

• Also, same as before. Open with Fireball. Shield both her attacks. Then cast Fireball until Sophia’s Fireball is about to hit. Repeat shielding both attacks then casting Fireball until the phase is over. If done properly, you should take no damage this phase.

• Step by Step: Fireball, Repeat (Shield X 2, Fireball X 3)

Combat Phase 4:

• This is probably the most annoying fight of the game. As Sophia will reactively ether Shield or heal most of the time. The simplest method I have found is to cast Fireball until her Shield "Wait" is up to 4 and then cast Shock Bolt.

• Step by step: Shock Bolt, Fireball X 4, Repeat (Shock Bolt, Fireball X 5)

This will unlock Ending 4.

Ending 5

Load Save1

Dialog 2:

• Chose: “Your technique is awful.” (Rampage)

Dialog 3:

• Chose: “They deserve to suffer.” (Rampage)

Combat Phase 2:

• Same as before. Since Sophia casts in a pattern, casting Fireball 7 times, followed by heal 5 times, and finshed by 5 more fireballs will get you through this phase without issue.

• Step by step: Fireball X 7, Heal X 5, Fireball X 5

Dialog 4:

• Chose: “The binding circle.” (Rampage)

Dialog 5:

• Chose: “You’re arrogant, pushy, and rude.” (Rampage)

Combat Phase 3:

• Also, same as before. Open with Fireball. Shield both her attacks. Then cast Fireball until Sophia’s Fireball is about to hit. Repeat shielding both attacks then casting Fireball until the phase is over. If done properly, you should take no damage this phase.

• Step by Step: Fireball, Repeat (Shield X 2, Fireball X 3)

Combat Phase 4:

• This is another reactive fight. Normally, I would suggest a detailed plan to defeat Sophia, but since this guide took waaaay longer than I was expecting and I want to sleep now, just throw Shock Bolt at her until you win… That’s it, really.

• Step by step: Shock Bolt, Shock Bolt, Shock Bolt

This will unlock Ending 5.

Ending 6

Load Save3

Dialog 5:

• Chose: “You’re not someone special” (Romance)

Combat Phase 4:

• This fight is straight forward. Sophia just casts Fireball, Ice Shard, Shield, and Heal on repeat. You can just cast Ice Shard, Shield, Heal, and Fireball in that order for an easy victory.

• Step by Step: Repeat (Ice Shard, Shield, Heal, Fireball)

Cut scene:

• Nothing to do but follow along. But if you are seeing it, that means the hard part is done.

Combat phase 5:

• Sophia gets a boost to her abilities, but follows a set pattern. Open with Fireball, Shield twice, cast Fireball until Sophia starts casting Inferno, Shield twice again, and at this point you can just hit Fireball as if you were at a frat party or continue blocking Inferno and Blizzard.

• Step by step: Fireball, Repeat (Shield X 2, Fireball X 4)

This unlocks Ending 6 and concludes this walkthrough.

found it OK fire ball till your heal is almost nothing then before she heals use lighting attack as the last attack to negate her heal and finish her before she use another attack. in phase four for the six path

the 6th path is wrong there are thee attacks inferno, pricing lighting and blizzard the lighting dose 25 damage making blocking it pointless. kills me everytime so far.
