Map of the Great Library in the 'Kshatriya' level

This is a schematic map that shows all the locations in the library relative to eachother, as well as the locations of artifacts, librarians and locked doors. Note that this map is schematic, and not all proportians and shapes are 100 percent accurate.

The Map

As the library is a big place and some artifacts are small, you might have trouble finding those glasses or the doll. Maybe you can't find the way to unlock that door, or you just want to know how the library is designed and where all areas are relative to eachother. Then this map can help you.

It's a schematic map of the entire level and includes all the artifact locations that I know of, as well as locations of locked doors, passageways, librarians and more. As this map is schematic and I did not measure every room, not all proportians and shapes are completely accurate, but all postitions of the rooms relative to eachother should be correct, so it should be helpful nonetheless.

The map is divided in an above-ground, containing the outdoor and upper sections of the library, and an underground, containing the sewers and cellars, sections. Note that in the underground areas you only need a gasmask in the room with the Nightvission goggles and adjacent hallways. In the rest of the cellars and sewers the air is clean.

Most artifacts have multiple locations they can spawn in, and I have added every possible location that I know of, but I have probably missed some. If you know of one that is not on this map please send me a message and I can add it to the map. If you can't find the artifact you're looking for at any of the listed locations try searching in the area or room that contains the listed locations, as the different possible spawn points are never far apart.

I find it completely impossible to pass the librarian just after the terminal, do I have to kill it, or is it possible to sneak past? Whenever it challenges me, I stand completely still but it always ends up going ape (no pun intended) and trying to batter me.

Thank you for this fantastic map! There were a few artifacts that had spawned at different places for me, too.

I've noticed that it is really helpful to get the items in order (or as much as possible). I'm wondering if they don't all load properly when you skip one. Like Timerider, I never found my darn gasoline container. It took me two other tries before I decided to look for items in order.

Anyways, I'm not 100% sure that you need to get them in order, but I know that that worked for me. (I'm usualy pretty thorough when I look for collectibles.)

The terminal also spawned in a different spot. It was in that little hallway between that locked door (on the locked side) and the librarian room, right above the labeled vent on the map.

Gasoline never spawned in that location for me. I can't find it.
