Introduction
Good day, fellow achievement hunters!

So, willing to get all the achievements but you're kinda new to this game, eh?
Or maybe you're an oldstager just having some questions about specific achievement?

Honestly, I don't care. This guide is for both of you, as well as any other player.
Here, I'll give a try to explain how to get all the achievements in this game in a player-friendly way. Expect many pictures and screenshots as well as text explainations. You can also be sure this guide has completely no spoilers, so don't be afraid to read it.

But let's finally get into it!
When I heared that new release of Final Fantasy 7 is going to have achievements, I was afraid of meeting Civilization V-like achievements, like "Build 1000 mines". Hopefully, FF7 has the best achievements of its kind - Not easy, not impossible, but still VERY challenging (most of the times).
I don't know how does "challenging" sound to you, but prepare to spend lots of hours in front of your computer. Not kidding here. Maybe it isn't as bad as constantly building mines, but it will take time.
Another quite important thing to know. You can get all the achievements in one, constant game. I mean here that you can get 'em all right from starting the game to its end without starting a new game. Helps a lot, doesn't it?

Let's start with the basic ones:
Using the 1st Limit Break with every party member
Braver
Use Cloud's 1st limit
Big Shot
Use Barret's 1st limit
Beat Rush
Use Tifa's 1st limit
Healing Wind
Use Aeris's 1st limit
Sled Fang
Use Red XIII's 1st limit
Dice
Use Cait Sith's 1st limit
Boost Jump
Use Cid's 1st limit

You do know what are Limit Breaks and how do they work, don't you? If the answer's "Yes" then you're half the way to get these 7 achievements. Simply use your party members' first limits and you're done here.
Adding Yuffie and Vincent to the party and using their 1st Limit Breaks
Yuffie
Get Yuffie on your team
Greased Lightning
Get Yuffie on your team*
Vincent
Get Vincent on your team
Galian Beast
Use Vincent's 1st limit
* Seems there's a mistake in that achievement. It's supposed to be "Use Yuffie's 1st limit", but that's okay, because it works the same way as any other "Use 1st limit" achievement.

Things are really simple here as well. If you've already completed this game, you should know how to get them both, but for newcomers, here's how to:

To get Yuffie on your team, simply go to any forest (It could be around Junon, Gongaga, or Ancient Temple forests, I even found her once in forest at Goblin Islands!). You'll be dragged into a suprisingly easy battle. After defeating her, have a talk with her, but DON'T use the savepoint nearby - it's a trap!
Here's how the conversation should look like:
Yuffie: You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time! Cloud: Not interested. Yuffie: You're pretty scared of me, huh!? Cloud: ...petrified. Yuffie: I'm really gonna leave! REALLY! Cloud: Wait a second! Yuffie: You want me to go with you? Cloud: ...That's right. Yuffie: All right! I'll go with you! Cloud: ...Let's hurry on.

Getting Vincent on your team is a bit harder. After getting to Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim at Part I you can notice a safe in a room left to the main stairway.

Unfortunately, the safe is locked. To unlock it, you need to know the code. If you want to discover it yourself, follow the instructions written on a letter in a room below. If not, the code is:
36 right, 10 left, 59 right, 97 right
To make it harder, you have 30 seconds to open it and you must not make any mistake! (For example, if you go a bit more right than you should, you won't be able to open it and you'll need to repeat entering the code)
When you manage to open the save, you'll feel a bit like you're playing FF2: A big Boss, Lost Numer, will come out of a tiny safe! It isn't that tough though. Just remember that when he has like 1/2 health left, he'll change his form either to "blue" or "red". The blue one is powerful, resistant to physical attacks, but immune to spells, while the red one is resistant to most of the spells and status ailments, but has weak physical attack.
After fighting it, you get 3 items: Odin (Summon materia), Cosmo Memory (Red XIII's Final limit) and "Basement key". What to do with it? Go underground where Sephiroth's awaiting, but don't enter the research room yet. Instead, go through the door right before the lab.

Inside, you'll see a coffin with Vincent inside. To have him join the party, talk to him twice: First about Sephiroth, then about himself.

After having these two joined the team, simply use their 1st limits and you're done with "Use 1st limit" achievements.
Story-related achievements
End of Part I
Complete the first part of the game
End of Part II
Complete the second part of the game
End of Game
Complete FINAL FANTASY VII

These are basically story-related achievements. It's completely obvious how to get them, yet, I had to include them here to allow you using this guide as a checklist.
Getting the Final Limit Break with every party member
Omnislash
Get Cloud's last Limit Break
Catastrophe
Get Barret's last Limit Break
Final Heaven
Get Tifa's last Limit Break
Great Gospel
Get Aeris's last Limit Break
Cosmo Memory
Get Red XIII's last Limit Break
All Creation
Get Yuffie's last Limit Break
Slots
Get Cait Sith's last Limit Break
Chaos
Get Vincent's last Limit Break
Highwind
Get Cid's last Limit Break

You already know what does it take to have a Limit Break, but do you know how to get a Final Limit Break for any character? If the answer's "Yes", skip the paragraph below. Otherwise read carefully:

Every character (Except Cait Sith) has 4 levels of Limit Breaks, and every level has 2 Limits. Except the 4th level, wich is "reserved" for that Final Limit thing. But how to gain more Limits having just the 1st one? It may look complicated, but is in fact pretty simple: To gain the second limit from a specific level you must use the first limit from that level certain amount of times, and to gain a higher-leveled limit break, you must kill 80 enemies using a specific character. Here's the full table:
LEVEL
LIMIT 1
LIMIT 2
1
First limit
Use the first Level 1 limit 8 times
2
Slay 80 enemies
Use the first Level 2 limit 7 times
3
Slay 80 enemies after getting the first Level 2 limit
Use the first Level 3 limit 6 times
Things get complicated when you want to get the Final Limit. To do this, you must know all the previous limits and have a special item allowing you to learn that Limit. I call these items "Manuals" though their name in-game is same as the Limit's name.

Below you can find out where to get the manuals for all the party members:

Omnislash
Getting Cloud's Final Limit may be a bit difficult. It's one of the prizes at Gold Saucer's Battle Square. To acquire it, you need to have either 51200BP (If haven't finished Part I yet) or 32000BP (If you're at Part II or III). But fear not, because the enemies are mostly easy and as long as you have ribbon equipped (you can get it in the Temple of the Ancients at Part I and/or morph Master Tornberry to get it) you should get the desired amount of BP easily.
Catastrophe
Barret's Final Limit will be given to you in one of the "houses" in North Corel right after stopping the train in Part II.

Final Heaven
I hope you know something about music, don't you? When you're in Nibelheim at Part II or III, go to Tifa's house and play FF7 main theme on it. Difficult? Nah, just remember what key is mapped to which tone. Unless you want to play "from hearing", the melody is: Do re mi ti la do re mi so fa do re do

Great Gospel
To get Aeris's Great Gospel, after getting the buggy at Part I, take it to Costa del Sol and take a "trip" back to the eastern continent. After getting there, look for a cave near Fort Condor, close to the river. Inside, you'll meet a sleeping man saying how many times have you fought (He may also rave about Master materia or your battle escapes).

The point is to have 2 last digits same in your battle count, like 244, or 122. If the digit isn't unpaired (Like 666) you will be given a Bolt ring, and if it is (Like 211), you'll get Mythril. If you're missing some battles, simply beat some monsters around and you should get it quickly. Now what you want to have is Mythril. When you're done with that, go back to the Gold Saucer area and look for a house nearby a river south of Gold Saucer - it's hard to miss it.

Inside, you'll meet a blacksmith willing some materials. Give him Mythril and in reward he'll give you one of two items from his safes. DON'T open the safe on the 1st floor - it contains just a regular item! Instead, go upstairs and open the safe inside the wall - You'll find Great Gospel inside. Finally!

And for all the newcomers: Aeris's Final Limit Break can be obtained only at Part I! Old players will know why...

Cosmo Memory
Red XIII's Final Limit can be obtained by opening the safe in Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim (explained above). If you've made Vincent join the party, you already have the manual.

All Creation
Getting Yuffie's last Limit isn't that hard either. After having your "adventure" in Wutai, Yuffie can enter the 5-floor pagoda. There, she needs to beat 5 enemies (solo). The rewards for it are Leviatan (Summon materia) and All Creation manual.

Dice
Cait sith has only 2 limit levels! That means if you want to get Dice, simply kill 80 enemies using him.

That's why he sucks, eh?

Chaos
After getting a submarine or mountain Chocobo, you can get to a "lake" between Nibelheim and North Corel. To get there with a submarine, look for an underwater tunnel on the eastern side of continent. After getting there, enter the waterfall. You must have Vincent in your party!

Inside, you'll meet Lucrecia. After a short conversation leave this place and come back in some time (Like after 10 battles). You'll have a letter left, including Death Penalty (Vincent's best weapon) and Chaos manual.

Highwind
This one can be obtained in sunken Shinra Gelnika plane - accessable by submarine, it lies deep in water near Costa del Sol. Simply look around inside, it's hard not to find it.

After getting all the Limit Breaks for the entire party, it's time to move onwards!
Breeding a Gold Chocobo
Gold Chocobo
Get a Gold Chocobo
Knights of the Round
Get materia Knights of the Round

Although there already is a guide explaining how to breed a Gold Chocobo, I've been thinking about writing something like... a Chocobo Bible. It'd contain not only Gold Chocobo breeding info, but also other interesting breeds, materias you can get having those chocobos, some tips on how to win Chocobo Races easily and more. Write in comments what do you think about it.

Already having a Gold Chocobo? Seek for a tiny isle north of Goblin Islands. You can get there only with that Chocobo. Inside, Knights of the Round materia will be awaiting you, along with the achievement!
Beating up Weapons
Diamond Weapon
Defeat the Diamond Weapon
Ultimate Weapon
Defeat the Ultimate Weapon
Ruby Weapon
Defeat the Ruby Weapon
Emerald Weapon
Defeat the Emerald Weapon

I may possibly write a guide on how to get rid of them soon. Stay tuned!

UPDATE
I've just noticed a guide helping you out with dealing with weapons, RIGHT when I wanted to finish writing mine. Well... ♥♥♥♥.
Other activities
Battle Square
Start a battle in the Battle Square

To get this one, simply go to the Battle Square in Gold Saucer and have a battle.
By the way, shouldn't this achievement be "Win a battle in the Battle Square"? Or even "Win the Special Battle in the Battle Square"? Feel free to say what do you think about it in comments!

Bahamut Zero
Get materia Bahamut Zero

Bahamut Zero can be obtained when you have all the 4 Huge Materias in the Bugenhagen's machine. To have them of course, you must fail no mission related to recovering the Huge Materias. That includes:
- Fight at the Fort Condor at Part II
- Stopping the train in North Corel
- Destroying the submarine carrying a Huge Materia near the Junon underwater reactor
- Extracting the Huge Materia from the Rocket Town's rocket
You also must have normal Bahamut and Neo Bahamut materias (obtainable in Temple of the Ancients and Whirlwind Maze). When having these completed, go to the Bugenhagen's machine in Cosmo Canyon and "talk" to the blue Huge Materia. When it asks to merge the Bahamuts, agree and you'll get both materia and the achievement.

Master Materia
Reach the maximum level of any Materia
Materia Overlord
Master all Materias

Now these achievements are pretty mysterious. Both.
Let's start with Master Materia. To get this one, you basically need to bring any materia to the maximal level. Okay, but when I mastered my first materia (It was "Fire" as far as I remember) I actually didn't get the achievement. "Why?" I asked myself. So I kept mastering more materias and STILL didn't get that bloody achievement! Then when I lost all the hope, one day, when I mastered "Cure", I got it. Honestly, I have completely no idea why didn't I get it earlier when I mastered "Fire". I can say one thing: If you're having problems with that achievement, try mastering "Cure"...
Now about Materia Overlord... it's insane in my opinion. To master ALL the materias? What about the unmasterable materias like "Underwater"? Do they count? Or maybe they don't want us to master all materias but to get all the Master Materias? (These are two different things)
I don't know. I'll post here an update soon after I'll try to get it...

Top Level
Reach level 99 with any character
Master of Gil
99,999,999 Gil

Seems hard? Fear not - These are pretty easy. You just need to spend some time on getting them.
To make your work easier and faster, seek for monsters called "Magic pots". They can be found deep inside the Northern Cave at Part III. They usually appear in a group of two and give pretty much EXP and AP. The only problem is that they require to give them an Elixir to start taking damage, but Elixirs can be stolen from some other monsters creeping nearby in the same cave. Getting EXP is obvious for getting the Top Level achievement, but what do you need AP for, you may ask. It's simple: To get 10 million gil as fast as possible, master "All" materias and sell them. Why "All"? Because they're quite fast to master and give lots of Gil when sold. While mastering, remember to use double/triple growth armor/weapons! They can double, or even triple the AP gained!

Anyway good luck with that!
The hardest achievement...
And now, ladies and gentlemen, time to achieve THE HARDEST ACHIEVEMENT EVER SEEN IN A PC GAME
Any clues what could it possibly be? No? In this case, let me introduce you to:

Won 1st battle
Win your first battle

There is no achievement that could be as hard as this one! Only 0,01% of FF7 players achieved it! No matter as hard you try and as long you play, achieveing this is NOT gonna be easy! I spent TWO THOUSAND HOURS on getting it, and still no result! DON'T even try to get it!
...
...
But seriously, that's the most RIDICULOUS achievement I've ever seen. Seriuosly. I believe it should be gone. And what do you think about it?
Conclusion
And here the guide's ending. It's been the first guide I've ever written, to be honest. Has it answered any of your questions related to FF7 achievements? Have you found it helpful? Or maybe you've found it unnecessary and worthless? I'd like to hear some constructive feedback from you. That'd make me write some more guides, not only for FF7. Rate, comment, share, etc.

I'd also like to thank Kostas S. for morally supporting me, even if he wasn't actually doing it...

Enjoy your 100%-done game, achievement hunters!

Except for the Aeris related ones, are any of these missable?
ArtisanDragon 13 avr. 2023 à 17h26
Just to be clear, Top Level requires you to only have one character at Level 99 to get it right?

It's not for all of them?
Phantom Samurai 17 mars 2023 à 8h48
Is there any missable?
Are there any related to mini-games?

around 85% of people who have the game played it. you can tell from the hardest achievement.

Limit 4 achievements are triggered when you use the item to teach them. No need to even use it or change to limit 4.

I was in doubt wondering if i could do all the achievements in 1 save, thanks man:oxinablanket:

@DustyBlue as far as I remember the final limit break achievements trigger upon first usage, despite what their description says, but I can't tell that for sure because I haven't been playing the game for a long time.

Materia overlord is by far the hardest one to get, you have to master every single materia including all summons and enemy skill.
DustyBlue 1 janv. 2021 à 11h40
I ask this because I get the feeling just booting up a save file with the final limit breaks already learned and with mods disabled won't work, and I would need to reenact the trigger while the game is running in vanilla. (the mods are Reunion with Remako textures by the way)
DustyBlue 1 janv. 2021 à 11h27
I'm playing with mods that don't allow achievements and will probably do an achievement run later. I was wondering: for the final limit break achievements, does the achievement unlock A) upon procuring the item, B) upon teaching it, or C) upon using it for the first time?
