Level 1 - 60
Complete the epic quests. Will quickly level from level 1 to 50. Afterwards, do daily missions (unlocks at level 50) and Kay minigames (at every :05 and :35) to reach 60.
Prepare for dungeons
To reach 1800, 2100, or 2800 for the dungeons, buy from the black market epic gear. Watch youtube videos of dungeons and practice solo if needed. Nobody likes playing with someone who doesn't even try. Apart from that, there are other methods to strengthening your character with attribute points and skill points. Press [Y] on the keyboard for trophies, go to all, and filter rewards for the two. Complete these trophies for the bonus. There are attribute points within the prestige level with the last at 95 and map exploration with the last at 150 stars. Buy a pet or capture some. The dream pet is an epic pet of the boar or cerbes with perfect stats on piercing, total damage, and either melee damage or ranged damage which depends on your attacks being melee or ranged. The reason why is the two pet attacks are twice as fast as the twigoo and fastest. Being extremely expensive and difficult to obtain, I suggest buying an exceptional pet with piercing and total damage at ok levels. Try not to spend over two million on one pet. Getting a dungeon pet is a bit better here since they also have a special ability, which ultimately sucks to the melee or ranged damage stat. Proceed to level that up to level 50 using the bonus xp from fusing 24 pets to it every day or killing enemies as each levels it by 5 xp. When you get the dream epic, you could fuse the level 50 exceptional to make it go around level 40. Pets are important as it secretly grants you bonus damage of 20% or 40% depending on youtuber claims. It is also important to note the bonus stats don't take effect until you level it to 10, 30, or 50 depending on what the stat level requirement is and bonus attack increases per level.
Make Life Easier
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBIMlZ0lpos

You can create teleports in your house for easier traveling. This requires you to have already traveled there. I did this alphabetically with my main and it makes traveling so much easier. You don't have to do this if you got premium. This is for plebs. Makes your house ugly too.

You also want to get the flying mount that moves horizontally for the most part and very little upwards. It's very nice and you can spam that with the balloon to travel up and anywhere really fast. There was the maple leaf during the start and a yellow flower during Thanksgiving. The only epics (marginally faster and better by a bit) are the planet achieved by prestige 60 and the sock bought for Christmas. If you plan on having multiple characters, try to get 11 total otherwise the planet will be good enough.

Do events for free potions. They're pretty costly and that can shave money off.
Daily and Weekly To Do List
1) Check in everyday
- Checking in a guild will grant you guild coins which I recommend you use to buy a gemstone box around the equivalent of every other day. It is free gemstones and gem dust in a way.

2) Life skills @ Evansville, Queenstown, Middletown, Silverstone Bridge unlocks island
- After gathering life skills from all these maps unlocks a mission to reach alkimi island and berg island where you can gather all future life skills in one spot. Also do the others at home where it is best to do a 2x2 square. You can go to other people's houses under rankings to get bonus home kife skills. Also nominate them daily for a trophy.

3) Prioritize prestige 1000
- You get bonus prestige to reach the next level daily where if you continue you go at the speed of 1/20 of the daily bonus. It is best to do it daily at this rate where getting prestige 100 will be very nice for cdev. The perk allows you to avoid stuns from the boss on a mount to a small degree.

Typing t32l1.rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and continuing the r to the end of the sheet can make a 9 hour song from the cheapest custom music sheet. XP is capped at 5 minutes per song but goes on indefinitely for prestige.

4) Inspect keys
- Go to Tria and inspect keys daily for 100,000 mesos daily to save up. Getting B4 keys will be useful for RNG scrolls. Do this with every character.

5) Buy stellar glass 5x weekly
- At Tria. Spend 1 million mesos weekly on 5 stellar glass to turn to gem dust of your choice at the chest nearby. Very slow and only 5 per account so do this as early as possible.

6) Fuse pet bonus
- Spend 10,000 per fuse up to 24 per character fusing to your main pet. This is very expensive and takes forever to do. To calculate the cheapest method is to fuse common pets daily which if done 24, you will take 42 days to reach level 50 and at a cost of 11,500,000 to 12,500,000 mesos.
The more faster methods are using rares which take 32 days at 15,000,000 mesos and using only blues which cost 72,000,000 mesos for 13 days. As you can see the process is long and hefty so best to start early. *This cost is estimated as of 1/1/19 and can change due to market price.

7) Daily Missions
- Prioritize Get Rich and Hoard Things. Secondary would be Toughen up. Then for slice of life go for Seize the Day and Be Fabulous. Get Rich rewards at least 77,000 mesos per box and then a lottery from between an extra 1,000 mesos to 1,000,000 mesos. Very nice. Hoard things is good for crystal fragments and onyx. Very essential to enchanting and rerolling. Toughen up is very meh for me as I find guild stores the best method for gemstones, but the small chance of getting an epic pet may be nice. I'd rather catch one at the effort of doing a dungeon though. Seize the day can give you auto fishing or free music sheets which is nice since fishing is so boring and performing can cost mesos buying sheets. Be fabulous has a 1% chance of getting a template voucher fragment where if you get 5 of them, you get a free 5 dollar of your choice template to make another custom skin for free. Aim for 30 boxes per week for very nice onyx as they moved onyx originally from dungeons to these boxes.

8) Dungeons
- Do 30 dungeons weekly or 60 with beta. This is where you strengthen your character and is self explanatory.

9) Sky Fortress
- Do at least the weekly faction quests for the best of your time improving your character. This is very nice for endgame when you have legendary gear as it provides value rerollers for them. For now, always buy crystal fragments, blue and green crystals, and necessary epic gear weekly from them. The sortie is a fast pass to field missions only allowing you to freely travel to where a field mission is. I'd also recommend checking daily for missions from the green girl for sweeteners, seasoning, and meat as they are very cheap to do by black market. Also do arming platoon only if it is level D where you only give one gear preferably someting only worth 1 onyx. Also check daily for the man with a scar for missions where you only craft things from your life skills. This is easy to do so why not.
Dungeons and Preparing for Chaos Raids
Do fire dragon just for gloves, helmet, and shoes. You want to aim for 7.4% phys or magic piercing on your gloves and 5% boss damage on helmet and shoes. Alternatively if you suck at RNG, buy varr horns in replacement of the helmet. Also farm this for earrings, which you should aim for pierce and boss damage. The stats can be neglected and improved by buying B4 treasure runs and praying for reroll scrolls that rolls the numbers only and not the stats. These scrolls will also work for pendants, rings, capes, and belts obtained below.

Do lube if you are ranged and balrog if you are melee. Varr wings are good for ranged and balrog wings are good for melee. For your melee weapon, I cannot tell you if murpagoth or MSL is better, but ancient rune just sucks never go for that. I like how MSL looks so go for that for style points. Aim for 3.2% piercing and 11.2% phys or magic piercing total depending on your class. Enchant that weapon to +15. Doing other secondary stats will hinder you in getting in a chaos raid so try not to skimp out so much. Optionally you will get absolute pendants here aiming for 4% piercing and 6% boss damage or get Kandura's pendant explained below. Phys or magic piercing is possible but you will max at 16.66% with the main weapon and gloves

Do Tris for tops and bottom and likewise aim for 5% boss damage on both of them. Kandura's pendant is ok but absolute pendant is better preferred here for the double stats. You will get absolute rings here and should aim for 4% piercing and 6% boss damage.

Absolute capes and belt can be farmed between lube and balrog. It's harder to get than pendants but aim for 4% pierce and 6% boss damage each.

For gemstones, obtain them from buying them from the guild house at level three with guild coins obtained from logging on every day. The best one would be for your main stat at tier 10. Also you will need 10 accuracy ones to until you reach the accuracy needed

The dream end goal is piercing at 27.2% (the max 30% can be finally achieved with a trophy giving 3%) [4%*5 (for each accessory) + 3.2% (weapon) + 4% (pet)]
phys or magic pierce at 18.6% (gives a 1.9% leeway here as we only need 16.66%) [11.2% (weapon) + 7.4% (gloves)]
boss damage at 50% [6%*5 (for each accessory) + 5%*4 (for each armor except gloves)]
total damage at 4% from pet
melee or ranged damage at 4.2% from pet
9 tier 10 gemstones of your main stat ready and maybe 1 or 2 tier 10 accuracy gemstones to replace when needed (you need 96 accuracy for cdev and cmoc and 101 for cpap)

Let's be honest you will most likely never reach this goal but this will be the gold standard to being the very best. The same stats will be strived for legendaries.

What most elitist hcdev asks from me when I tried was for 20% pierce min, 96 accuracy, and t4 bonus attack gemstones lodged in all gem slots. This was long ago like 2 weeks after the first raid came out, so I don't know what they ask for now.
Chaos Raids
I never beat one myself so I got nothing. The randoms hate me for having bad stats, so I recommend not skimping out so much as I said before. The better you are to perfection, the more likely they'll take you. Also randoms hate thiefs and attack speed just saying. Practice a lot to dodge. Use youtube vids to practice each one.

Alternatively but controversially you can buy runs for mesos. 10 million is the standard so far for hcdev 3 runs for a guaranteed helmet. glove, or shoe. Do as you please; I'd probably say it is better to buy runs if you screwed up in stats as it'd take months and probably way more mesos to remake a +15 weapon with the right stats. Ouch. Life sucks.
Meso Sinks
Pet cost would be the good epic pet saying about 350 million mesos. Then the fusion requiring 90,000 XP per level for 50 levels to be 4,500,000 XP needed. The cheapest method may be the common pet fusion at 10,000 per fusion and 2,000 per pet cost giving 4500 XP each. This makes 12 million mesos the cost to level. Total can be around 362 million mesos here.

Absolute accessory fusion is 50%*50%*45%*50%*50%*45%*40% = .0050625 or .5% to succeed all fusions in one go. So an average of 100% might require 200 items for 500,000 mesos each to make 100 million mesos. 200 crystal fragments for each attempt is 200,000 mesos each try for 40 million. So in theory an average player pays 140 million per accessory fusion and for the ring, earrings, and belt, it'd be 420 million mesos here.

Weapon cost would be based on these:
https://maplestory2.gamepedia.com/Enchanting
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17FsMkhKjaHitTklKnYolUkF7-JhWr4fuEQLjVh10-1U/edit#gid=0

So guaranteed success the first 3 would be 2406 onyx, 12 chaos onyx, 60 crystals
100% theory crafting the rest would be: 100%/percent of success so for the next the math would be
1/.95*1100 for 1157.89474 onyx. So in theory the average player would use for 100% success:
329537.117 onyx, 878.7264 chaos onyx, 3912.418 crystal fragments. Using market value as of 1/1/19, this would be 329538*323 + 879*61111 + 3913*1000 = 164,070,343 mesos

These are 3 of the biggest meso sinks I know so far at around 946 million mesos excluding the belt and cape. This is very inaccurate as some people will have the blessings of RNGesus while others can feel the dry spell. I did not value legendary gear as I don't have enough stats for it. If you intend to have 11 characters for each class, it looks like getting 11 billion mesos would be the way to go. Note this will also be cheaper with the prestige stats increase and premium. This is just the hypothetical 100% for the basic player.
Rant of P2WF
As a non premium character, I hate this game. Premium is basically a P2WF or pay to win fast. Giving extra bonus mesos per grab as well as the premium dungeon and discount on onyx. It really slows down the game for free to play. Premium is basically required to have a good time or at least less of a friggin boring one.

I recommend you try to join the Joddy Squad if you can for the absurd perks of free merets for premium and the assistant crafting for P2WF.
