Introduction
When I played through this game for my first time, I came across few bugs, both minor and gamebreaking. I tried to do my best to solve them, and I collected too much of useful information to delete it just like that, hence I wrote this guide.

This guide contains some available commands I found, possible ways of solving a bug or issue, a list of treasures, possible secret location, and a list of some interesting items. I tried to keep it spoiler-less and with necessary mentions marked as a spoiler.

This guide is far from complete, but most likely I won't be working on it any further. There is a lot of useful stuff already and the player base is not that big to spend more hours working on it. I just wanted to forward my intel to someone else. But by any means, if you need any help, let me know and I will try to help you. Also, I would be more than happy if you had any new information or tips and wanted to contribute.

If you need help with your walkthrough, visit this awesome site[web.archive.org] that contains very detailed description of the hidden chests, towns, merchants, quests and other stuff, as well as the world map with marked locations.
Commands
In case you're stuck, encounter a bug, or some other issue, there are few commands that you can use. There also were two forums back in the day, but now they're deleted. One of the forums contained a complete list of commands among other useful stuff, but I was unable to find a saved copy of that page. I'll list the URLs of the forums below, so you can start your own detective work, if you feel like it.
In the process of searching for available commands I went through the old forums (or links that were saved in the Web Archive), Valorware's Tumblr blog, all existing Facebook posts and comments and also some Reddit stuff that I found. I believe that I went through everything related to the game that exists.

Those two link were for the old forums. If you want to access them, use the Web Archive[web.archive.org].
Link 1 (older forum) - http://welkstore.com/forum/
Link 2 (newer forum) - http://valorware.com/forum/
Valorware now has a new forum, but unfortunately without old posts, so that's lost for ever I'm afraid.

Here are the commands I was able to find:
  • resetall - now defunct, used for resetting quest progress and bosses, listed here for reference
  • resetmapdata - resets map data (quests, entities and map inventories), did not work for me, though (missing objects and map inventories were not restored, or at least not all), needs to be used from main menu
  • deletemap - fixes map objects and entities, again, did not work for me
  • resetcharpos - respawns your character in the starting house near Agaria
  • setsprite - changes the visual representation of your character, more about this command below
  • setquestvalue - adjusts the current progression of given quest, use with caution
  • justiblander - should be a god mode, but game says it is not a valid command

Also, not really a command, but the Caps Lock turns on/off the "fog".

The setsprite command
Allows you to change the image of your character. You can choose from every single available image sprite that is in the game. I noticed that with the changed image sprite it also changes your movement abilities (speed, ability to move on ground/water).
  • values 1-30 - human characters
  • values 31-180 - monsters
  • values 181+ - essentially a no clip cheat, thanks to Cahltern for finding out
You can see some of the image sprites on the left side of the following screenshot. This screenshot was taken from Valorware's Facebook[www.facebook.com]. Roughly first 100 image sprites corresponds to the ingame sprites ±2. Some of the image sprites are missing on the screenshot as it was probably taken some time before the game's release or update.

By the way, a pregnant woman? I don't think I have seen her anywhere in the game. Also, keep in mind that with the "no clip" image sprite the game tends to crash very often.

The setquestvalue command
This command is especially useful when you get stuck with a quest and cannot proceed further. It might be due to a missing map object, quest item, or simply NPC refusing to cooperate.
From what I found out there seems to be exactly 69 (coincidence? lol) "quests" which progress you can edit. Please note that there is not that many quests, it might be also a dialogue with an NPC which has several parts. All quests/dialogues, which I was able to find out, are listed below. Quests marked with asterisk (*) are shown in your Quest Log, as not every quest is listed there (bummer!). Value 0 means that the quest is not started yet, value 1 is the initial value when the quest is started. Higher values mark the individual parts of the quest. Please make a copy of your save before you use this command in case something goes wrong!
  • 0 - *Big John
  • 4 - *Starting Out
  • 5 - *Rena's Tea
  • 7 - *Save Ellerin
  • 9 - *Renn the Scholar
  • 10 - *The Dark Secret
  • 12 - *Euriphos
  • 20 - *7 Treasures (starts with value 2)
  • 21 - Beggar (he's located in Marseilles and it is a hidden quest)
  • 22 - *Annoying...
  • 26 - *Stone Snake
  • 27 - *Port Authority (dependent on value 28)
  • 28 - (part of the Port Authority quest, needs to be set to 1, probably just a boolean if the bandit leader is dead or not)
  • 37 - Odd Crab (part of the Jinko's quest)
  • 38 - Jinko
  • 46 - Marduk (he's located in Zaharakul, :V)
These are the quest numbers I had the time to find out. If you find a new one, please let me know and I will add it to this list.
The Beggar seems to be a hidden quest. The developers stated the following, "Also, we added the beggar to Marseilles. His quest is not broken, there’s just a secret to it!". I have not been able to find anything related to this quest, though. Do you have any information about this quest? Let me know!
Maps
There is a possibility that you encounter a missing map object that you really need to use in order to continue with the game. In case that none of the commands stated earlier won't help you, you still have the option to re-generate the map. Don't worry (or do worry?), the whole game world consists of 10 separate maps which are loaded when needed.
Please note that if you re-generate the map, all map objects, enemies and items will be there again, that means you can find certain quest-givers even though you have already completed that quest (the quest will still be completed), or you can find certain items you were supposed to find only once.
It should be also mentioned that one map can contain multiple passages, alleys, and dungeons. So even if you think you re-generated only one certain dungeon, you could have re-generated a different one with it. It shouldn't be a problem, though, apart from the already mentioned things.

To re-generate the faulty map, do the following (assuming you are on the faulty map ingame):
  1. Close the game if it is running.
  2. Rename the folder with your current maps to "_Maps" (without quotation marks) (located in \Steam\steamapps\common\9th Dawn Classic\data\Characters\*nickname*\)
  3. Run the game and load your character.
  4. Let the game load the map and then close the game again.
  5. Go back to your "Maps" folder, there should be only one folder named "Map_X" (X indicates a number 1-10).
  6. From the backup you've created earlier, copy all "Map_X" folders except the one you just re-generated to the new "Maps" folder. That way you keep your current progress in other maps.
  7. Keep the backup "_Maps" folder in case you encounter any odd behaviour (you shouldn't, but you never know, right?).

I discovered the following 4 maps when I needed to re-generate some of them. Please note that they can also contain some other parts of the world in addition to the mentioned ones.
  • Map_3 - Felrun Crypt
  • Map_4 - whole mainland, Castle of Maltyr
  • Map_5 - long way with spiders and Blood Spawn which leads to Castle of Maltyr (where you have to use Lord Vincert's hand)
  • Map_6 - short passageway with two lava pools on sides and 4 chests, it ultimately leads to Castle of Maltyr
  • Map_9 - northern ice island, King Minos' island and his castle
Treasures, Interesting Items and Locations
One of the hardest quests in the game, called "7 Treasures" requires you to explore literally the whole game world (the mainland only, the islands were added later as additional content) in order to find all 7 treasures, some of them really easy to miss. I made this list of all treasures, so you can find out which one you are missing and then find it. I also added the location of where the treasure is hidden, but marked as a spoiler.

The quest "7 Treasures" is given by Grandaddy John, who is located in a cave, west of Braley, on the other side of the rock.
  • Shiny Linen - "Gloriously preserved material, completely clean and fresh looking - despite it seeming very ancient.".
Found in a Spider Cave, north of Anvere.
  • Jesftul Lock - "A lock which seems to have no key to turn it.".
Found in the Felrun Crypt, northwest of Felryn.
  • Sleeping Hourglass - "A distinct hourglass which has a haunting aura.".
Found in a Crypt, west of Sescern.
  • Broach That Breaks - "A glass broach that seems to be very fragile.".
Found in the Castle of Maltyr.
  • Turning Book - "A book which cannot be opened.".
Found in a Tower with Knight, west of Marseilles, in the middle of woods.
  • Heimdoom's Pipe - "A worn pipe with a disgusting odor.".
Found in a Lava Cave, if you take left in front of the gates of Castle of Maltyr.
  • Mothercase Vase - "A beautifully crafted vase with a floral pattern.".
Found in Kreyshore, hidden in a chest behind Agerest’s shop. Also can be found at the end of the massive maze (if you take right in front of the gates of Castle of Maltyr).

During my playthrough I obtained few items which I couldn't really use in any way, thinking about their purpose. I don't think they don't have any purpose, as it would be only four items or so in the whole game. More likely they were a part of some quest which was removed, or wasn't implemented yet. That's my bet.
  • Survivor's Flask - "An empty cloth container used for storing water.".
Found in a Lava Cave, north of Bracken.
  • Breathing Doll - "A horribly scary looking doll. It seems to be breathing...".
Found in a chest behind a building, north of Felryn, on the very end of the island.
  • Caster Oil - "Dark oil.".
Found in a crack in a wall of a building complex in the center of northern island.
  • Camphorated Oil - "Sticky oil.".
Found in a crack in a wall of a building complex in the center of northern island.
  • Venomshroud Amulet. It makes you immune to poison.
Found in the Undead Fortress. Also can be found in a Spider Cave, north of Anvere.
  • Serpent Crown. Does it have any special effects? Looks similar to Venomshroud Amulet.
Found at the end of the massive maze.
  • Sightful Crown. Does it have any special effects? Looks similar to Venomshroud Amulet.
Found inthe building complex southwest of Braley.

I also found a crystal on the northern island, to which leads a small path of frozen water around a rock. I couldn't find a way how to get to that crystal, so I used the "no clip" trick to get past the obstacle. The crystal teleported me to the small island, as seen in the screenshot below, where I found a building with a Christmas Tree, Saint John and some fairies. I couldn't interact with anything, so I really wonder what is its purpose? Maybe it is active only during Christmas? A word from the developer on this would be really nice!

There are also additional items which I believe are connected to this location:
  • Baubel - "A glorious spherical item - it looks very decorative!".
Found in the location, where the Ice Diamond ports you.
  • Mistletoe - "Decorative leaves and berries arranged in a very attractive manner.".
Found in an abandoned village, north of Haeroth.
  • Reindeer Antlers - "Strong, rugged antlers shed from a mystical Reindeer.".
Found in an Yeti cave, north-northeast of Haeroth.
  • Reindeer Boots - "Allows you to walk on frozen water.".
Found in a shop in Haeroth.. Although they are commonly used to walk on frozen water, it also might be a hint of some sort to the crystal mentioned above.
