All Dance Locations (With instructions)

Wanna unlock all the dances? Feel like you've missed one? Read this guide for some help!

Please read

A few disclaimers:

• I don't really want people to use this guide before beating the level they are on. I think it would be best to experience the game on your own first. However most people don't really care all that much about spoilers or looking up walk-throughs, so I've made the instructions as easy to understand as possible.
  
• I've censored both spoilers and screenshots of each dance, however some information will obviously have to be given away for clarity.
  
• There are 9 dances total, but only 8 are in this guide since you start the game with one dance in your arsenal.
  
• Not all of my info will be 100%. If I have something missing, please tell me so I can fill it in.
  
• Every dance is in this guide, as well as every location. I may have made mistakes on which dances are obtained at which locations, however visiting every location will get you all dances. (thx TemmieNeko)
  
• Lemme know if there's another dance somewhere out there! I checked everywhere so the chances are extremely low, but you never know!
  
• There's a mask icon in the scene selection panel for all locations that you have not learned the dance from. Revisit that place and learn the dance, and the icon will turn into a circle! (thx PwaroPwaro)

Langtree

At this point you will already have the default dance (as far as I remember).

The first character you meet is mask. He is the KEY to d a n c e. Mask will mention something about a cemetary, and that you should go there for something interesting to happen.

Once you figure out the game and get into Langtree, head right in the town until you get to the area shown below. I did this after I resolved the ghost issue, but you might be able to do this earlier.
Jump up until you can't go any highter, and head to the left. You will reach a cemetary with mask in it. Chat with Mask again and he will teach you the first dance of many.

Delphi

This dance is pretty difficult to avoid. To start, explore around the town until you find the inn. Go in, and as soon as you go up the stairs, Mask will be there. Talk to him and he will reveal that he wants sum sweets. (Sorry that he isn't there in the screenshot)

Go back out of the inn to where Manny is standing. To his left a bit is the candy store. Talk to the store owner and create a jingle for him. He says that the jingle will bring in many new customers.
Of these customers is Mask with his dance moves.

Pirate Oceans (Does the sea have a name???)

To get this dance, you must progress through the story enough to at least be able to control the ship.

First, drive the ship to the little island on the map that is partially covered by the bard's thumb.

Then park the ship at "????"

It's very straightforwards after this point. Talk to mask yadayadayada get your dance.

Chismest

This chapter made me so sad :( can we get five like????

To start off on your quest to find mask yet again, leave your house and walk to the right like 3 feet. Basically reach this spot. vvvv

You'll notice that the rooftop seems very close to you. Jump on it and head to the left. Careful not to fall off though because it can get annoying.

Mask will tell you to meet him in the mountains at 7 PM.

To get to the place he wants you to go, head right from the place you first jumped onto the rooftops from. Keep going right until you reach a bench and an arrow going down. Head right from there until you reach Chismet outskirts. Go to this place at 7, and he will be there waiting for you.

Then you keep going right past the observatory until you reach a hill. Be there when mask says to be there, and chat with him. Grab dance good job yes.

Rulle and the Border

This is one of the trickier ones to get. Nothing is really spelled out for you at first.

Also please ignore the symbols at the top left of my screenshots. They have nothing to do with the dance.

Once you get to Xiatian and play the game a bit, go to the base of the palace mountain. Mask will be standing there to your left just after the entrance.

After talking to him, go back to the town and head as far right as you possibly can until you reach the very edge. Exit to the map that has you and Miriam riding on her broom. To your right there is a butterfly. Sing to it and get it to follow you around. The more difficult part of this is to never, EVER stop singing. I just kept moving the wheel around in a circle the whole time, but holding out a solid note will keep the butterfly with you.
Head left on the map until you have collected five butterflies. Change notes whenever a new butterfly is in range. That should be obvious but I'm saying it just in case. Also reminder: do NOT stop singing or you will probably lose the butterflies and have to restart the process.

After collecting five, head back the way you came until you reach a mountain with three bushes in front of it. The mountain is located after Lumber Town, but before Xiatian.

Don't stop singing!!!! While you are still singing in front of the mountain, jump a few times. The butterflies will go off of you and instead float around a leaf. (Sorry I don't have a good screenshot of this) After a second or two, the screen will turn white and the bushes will disapear. You may now enter the mountain (and also stop singing).

Traveling up will get you to Mask, and talking to him will get you this atrocity of a dance! Nya~~* ;3

Mohabumi

This one may have major story spoilers. Just know that in order to get this dance, you must know all three spells.

To find Mask's first spot, head to the location on the map below.

After chatting with him, head to this room shown on the map here.

Use the third spell to get rid of the magic walls. Enter the newly revealed room and Mask will be in there waiting for you to teach you yet again

Ichor Mountain

This one can be frustrating to get at times.

To find Mask, he will be in the lodge with the Monks on the top floor. He will tell you that he wants to climb some mountains too, and that you should go find him. Proceed to climb said mountain.

After you free this clump of birds, they will scatter throughout the mountain. Use them to go as far up and left as possible. Yes this can be a little frustrating (At least it was for me).

There, Mask will teach you another swag dance.

(SPOILERRRRS) Secret Dance?

This dance is the WORST and best at the same time.

Step one: Return to the cemetery of Langtree after beating the game. You can use chapter select.

Step two: Profit

Edit: Okay idk if this is actually a secret dance because apparently some people have gotten it early, however I do know that I had gotten one dance from each location (including the cemetery at the beginning of the game) before getting this dance. It was only until I returned once again that Mask had new dialogue and taught me some moooooves. In theory, returning here after the game has been beaten should give you the final unlockable dance.

I can't imagine that you haven't found out one way or another by now, but the dance you get in Rulle is the Caramelldansen (which I realize was popularized years ago and may be less ubiquitous than it once was).

Anyway, thanks a ton for making this guide! I realized about an hour before reading this that I somehow skipped the Langtree dance on my first playthrough (but picked it up on my second) and I would probably never have known about the one on the mountain without this.

Also, I just realized from the comments that the masks in the Scene Selection are locations with unclaimed dances! I'll have to go back to confirm if they change back to normal dots later!

Okay I revised my guide a bit after doing a bit of research. Sadly, this game isn't super popular so there wasn't a ton of information out there. I did change a few things for clarity though so hopefully that should help! There are 9 dances, however one of them is there from the start. Throughout the game you unlock the 8 dances shown in this guide.

There are 8 dances on this guide! It was a bit confusing trying to figure out the order in which you get each dance, but I used the order of my own dances in combination with several youtube play-throughs. Honestly, it may be random, or maybe each location has a set dance? It's been long enough to where I don't fully remember my process, so I apologize for any mistakes in this guide. I do know I have all of the dances and locations though, just maybe not paired together properly

There is no secret dance, you get the dances in a various order and there are 8 of them. I can't remember which one this guide misses, but I went back to Langtree and nothing happened, no secret. If you look at your chapter select it tells you in which levels you missed a dance. I missed two in my play and after getting them, went to langtree and nothing happened. I already got the "dab" 3 daces back. I counted how many dances I have and I have 8, I wish I could remember which one this guide is missing...

when i went through Ichor Mountain i got the dab instead of the one your supposed to get and couldnt get one at the end of the game where u normally get dab
