Basic functionalities
Choice of a model

When you arrive in the spell creation window, you are in the first tab: the list of presets.

You can choose one of the 20 pre-made spells available.




Once you have chosen a spell, the game takes you directly to the creation tab.



Here, you will be able to:
  • define the name of the spell, which will be visible on the object
  • define the description of the spell
  • change the continuous launch options (as long as the mouse is pressed)
  • place the enchanting gems necessary to create a spell

Define the spell



In this section, you can define the name and description of your spell. This will be displayed in the created object.
Underneath the two text fields are the launch options.

If the hold box is checked, it will be enough to hold the mouse to cast the spell continuously, otherwise you will have to press the mouse for each cast.
For a continuous spell, Fire rate will then indicate the number of shots per second.


Choice of gems

A spell cannot be enchanted without a gem.
Slots allow you to place up to 3 different gems at the same time to create your spell.



A spell has two characteristics:
  • the elements necessary to enchant the spell
  • the power of the spell

Each element requires a gem of a certain type:


The power of the spell is displayed just above the gem slots.
They also correspond to the number of SPs required to cast the spell.
Depending on the power of the spell, you will need gems of a higher or lower level:


To enchant a spell of several elements, you will need a higher level enchanting book.

Once all the conditions are met, you can then enchant your spell by clicking on the bottom button.


Casts
The section casts allows you to define the order in which the spells are cast and allows you to:
  • cast several different spells at the same time
  • cast several spells with a delay
  • linking spells via events
  • define basic parameters such as the accuracy and angle of a spell



Each cast is associated with one or more spells.
It is possible to change the associated spell by clicking on the icon at the top:


It will then be possible to select one of the available spells:


This list varies according to the spells created.


Launch order

Only the first cast in the list is automatically launched. This is the entry point of the spell.

From this cast, it is possible to launch other casts in the list thanks to events.
It is possible to add an event by clicking on the following button:


You will then be able to choose the type of event you want:


  • on death: launch the selected cast at the death of the spell
  • on air death: launch the selected cast at the death of the spell in the air
  • on solid contact: starts the selected cast when the spell collides with a wall
  • on enemy contact: launch the selected cast when the spell hits a monster
  • step: launch continuously the selected cast (it's possible to choose the frequency)

Warning: currently, events only work on projectiles.


Multi-casts

It's possible to cast several spells from the same cast.
To do this, simply click on the following button:


It's then possible to choose new events, and a time frame for launching the associated spell.
Spells
The section spells allows you to define the spells that will be used by the section casts.



It's possible to change the spell by clicking on the icon at the top:




Motion

It's possible to define the parameters of the motion of the projectiles:


And change their type of motion by clicking on the icon at the top:


Bursts

It's possible to set the way a spell is created in the burst tab.



And to change the type of burst by clicking on the icon at the top or add more by clicking on the "+" button:




The types of burst available depend on the nature of the spell and the first burst selected.
Import/Export spells
The spell book allows you to save and load spells, so you can reuse them.



Load an existing spell

It's possible to load a spell using the first icon in the left column from:
  • an existing spell
  • an enchanted scroll



Save a spell

It's possible at any time to save a spell in a scroll for later use.
To do this, simply click on the 2nd icon in the list on the left:


The enchanted scroll will then indicate the spell's information in its description:

Sharing spells
The 3rd and 4th icon in the left column will allow you to copy and paste a spell directly from the clipboard, in text form (base64).

This allows you to share your spells directly from the forum or a chat, using "Paste" (Ctrl + V).

No, not yet, but you can easily add custom wands. Spells are made in json with a powerful command system so you have more freedom than through the UI.

Note: I have to rewrite the spell creation UI so it's easier to integrate more spells.

You can also create much more complex spells using json files outside of the game. This is ideal for modding.

Molnyfio: if you play the game normally no because you can only use base spells provided by the interface.

I think a full youtube video tutorial for making a new spell from scratch that is not already in the pre-made tab might be the only way of helping people like me but take your time.
