How to setup your non-xbox gamepad with Sonic the Hedgehog 4 EP II.

This game only supports xbox gamepads so you will need to setup the XBOX 360 Controller emulator to get your controller to work with this game, and many other games that only support xbox gamepads.

Step 1: Install Game (Sonic the Hedgehog 4 EP II)

Step 2: Open Game Installation Folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - EP 2)

Step 3: You will need to download the XBOX 360 Controller emulator here:
https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
Download file name labeled as “x360ce.App-X.X.X.XXX.zip”



Step 4: Open the .zip file you just downloaded labeled “x360ce.App-X.X.X.XXX.zip” (don’t have Winzip? Download it free here: http://winzip.todownload.com) Now drag and drop the file in the .zip file labeld “x360ce.exe” into the main game folder you should already have open.



Step 5: Now run the XBOX 360 Controller emulator exe “x360ce.exe” choose it to run search for a profile of your controller from the internet. Then, click "Finish." If it did not map your entire controller no problem just finish setting it up like you would any controller setup. Click on "Save," and then close x360ce.



Step 6:Launch the game using the “Launcher.exe” or Right click on the game in STEAM and launch the configuration tool. Click on "Player" and change dropdown menu from keyboard to game controller, now at the bottom click the “save settings and launch sonic 4” button.

Do NOT use this tool. Steam Input works fine, get the controller set up in Steam.

My only problem is it won't recognise the second controller for two players. Would this solve this problem?

i just pluged it in and that's it, and i changed it in the launcher to play with gameoad

@Choki_Wukong Look into the SCP Toolkit. However, this isn't the only way to do this with other controllers. I figured out how to do this with just Steam, by the way.
