How to setup your non xbox gamepad with Sonic the Hedgehog 4 EP 1.

This game only supports xbox gamepads so you will need to setup the XBOX 360 Controller emulator to get your controller to work with this game, and many other games that only support xbox gamepads.

Step 1: Install Game (Sonic the Hedgehog 4 EP 1)

Step 2: Open Game Installation Folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sonic the Hedgehog 4 EP 1)

Step 3: You will need to download the XBOX 360 Controller emulator here:
https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
Download file name labeled as “x360ce.App-X.X.X.XXX.zip”



Step 4: Open the .zip file you just downloaded labeled “x360ce.App-X.X.X.XXX.zip” (don’t have Winzip? Download it free here: http://winzip.todownload.com) Now drag and drop the file in the .zip file labeld “x360ce.exe” into the main game folder you should already have open.



Step 5: Now run the XBOX 360 Controller emulator exe “x360ce.exe” choose it to run search for a profile of your controller from the internet. Then, click "Finish." If it did not map your entire controller no problem just finish setting it up like you would any controller setup. Click on "Save," and then close x360ce.



Step 6: Launch the game using the “sonicLauncher.exe” or Right click on the game in STEAM and launch the configuration tool. Click on "Player" and change dropdown menu from keyboard to game controller, now at the bottom click the “save settings and launch sonic 4” button.

i just plugged it in and choosed it as a controller then that's it, my gamepad is PS4 gamepad

1. install sonic 4 ep1 2. connect controller 3. select gamepad as control type 4. launch sonic 4 ep1

Fuck you Steam. This is the second game that I spent time and money for this bullshit "only compatible with xbox game pad". This is a shame, I can't believe that the developers would launch an app which can't handle any I/O than xbox game pad. This shit smells some Microsoft stupid strategy to sell these shit products. Yo. I have an issue with the game. I'm commenting here because Steam will not let me contact you with a normal message :/

It takes a few tries untill I get the game to start, but then all I hear is, "SEGA!" and the opening screen music and that's it. I see a hint of a window opening, but I never see the game.
