Shock.tv Events

What events does shock.tv pay you for? What are the consequences of sending each video? What events do they not accept that you might assume they would?

For money! For achievements! For humor!

Shock.tv can be a great source of quick money and can be a quick and easy way to close some of the cages. If you're trying to get the "Aotus televisibus" achievement, you may as well make some cash doing it. Even if your videos get rejected, the rejection text for some events can be its own reward. Will update this guide once I try out a couple ideas. Please comment any other events you've gotten funny or lucrative responses to from Shock.tv!

Photographer cage

Filming the photographer in action has multiple benefits. The video can either be used as blackmail fodder or sent to shock.tv. Shock will pay you because the recording contains sexual content. An article in the paper the next day will announce the photographer's arrest. Sending this video will close the cage.

Liquor store cage

A video of the store being robbed will be rejected and will NOT get you any money due to thefts being so common at the time.

A video of the store owner shooting someone (it doesn't matter whether it's a customer or a thief) will be rated "a bombshell" and get you paid. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time between when you call the store and when he actually shoots. This event will close the cage regardless of whether you film it.

Gas station cage

Filming the "Loco Trucker"'s vehicle (the one with a person stuck to the front) nets you some cash thanks to the violence. There will be an article in the newspaper the next day about how their vehicle was found destroyed with the two perpetrators chained to the seats, naming Kimberly Pegg's militia as the primary suspects. The cage will close if you send this video.

Spaceship cage

Any of the captain's recording sessions can be sent to shock.tv.
The first time you send it, it is "a bombshell" and gets you the most cash. A newspaper article about her family's push to investigate the ship will appear the next day which provides the captain's name and a few other key words.
The second recording you send will be rated "less interesting" and give you less dough. A newspaper article the next day will talk about the continued push to send a rescue mission.
The third recording you send will be rated "merely watchable" and give you even less $$. A newspaper article the following day will announce a mission being sent to rescue her.

Typewriter cage

Film of Fiona Bates yelling at her writers is worth money to shock.tv, since "verbal abuse is a form of violence". There will be an article in the paper the next day exposing her as a fraud. Sending this video will close the cage.

Local Forest Security cage

After doing the requisite digging and providing hunters with proof of the deer, you can go back that night to see the hunt. Video of the deer being shot gets you some money from Shock.tv (although it's "a pity it's only deer").

False leads

You might think these cages' videos would get accepted, but you would be wrong.

Recording Studio Cage
These videos will be rejected on the grounds that "most of our viewers weren't even born when he was famous".

Greenhouse Cage
Video of a gardener emerging or of the plant talking will be rejected as fake.

Foreign Language Cage
Video of Peole in her dominatrix outfit will be called "promising", but will not be accepted. They'll ask if you have any of her in action!

Office with Mirror Cage
Film of the occupant's...nighttime activities...will be rejected as irrelevant, as nobody knows who's in the video.

Elevator Cage
This cage is incompatible and can't be recorded.

Pregnant Lady Cage
The cage is incompatible, sadly.

You can re-send the same video repeatedly to get the achievement, that sped it up substantially.

Hi!, to get the achievment 3 of the nine events correspond to the spaceship cage, you will need to send 3 videos on each day, this have to be recorderd when the captain talks toand the camera. then if you send the rest of the videos from the other cages you will get the achievment 😎

[Defectus Polaris]

To get the Aotus televisibus achievement, one has to send 20 videos to shock.tv in one game (they don't need to be approved). It takes patience, but you will get there!

I just got the achievement yesterday, so I can confirm now this is the case. Heck, I got the achievement on a rejected video.

@M I Abrahms, I haven't earned the achievement myself (poor luck with what cages I got), so I can't exactly say whether there are 10 accepted clips or only these 8. But since a decent percentage of players have earned it and you would need fantastic luck to have all of these cages in one game, you're probably right.

And yeah, I believe you're locked out of recording that cage once you send the organization an answer.

Huh. So if I'm counting right, there's only eight videos Shock.TV will accept. Does that mean if the player wants the achievement they need to send a bunch of video that will be rejected?

Had a thought about the cage with the secret vault, giving the organization the wrong time intentionally, and recording the results, but I'm thinking that you get locked out of recording once you answer.
