[HISTORICAL CLASS] Gothic Knight
By VespaFier and 1 collaborators
Second guide of the Historical Class series, I'll talk about the Gothic Knight, the heaviest cavalry in Holy Roman Empire's army. We can call it the Panzer of the Middle Ages.

Perks
We'll start setting up the perks.

Offensive Perk - under "Infantry", we will select "Shield Breaker" and "Riposte". They let you destroy shields more easily and they give you more chances of hitting before your opponent, after a successful parry.

Defensive Perk - we will select "Armour Training" and then "Thick Skinned" (less damage that penetrate you armour) and "Regenerative" (you bandage yourself quicker).

Supportive Perk - This will be up to you.

Movement Perk - Of course we will take "Cavalry", then "Heavy Cavalry", which allows you to take barded horses, and "Horse Master", which increase your agility when maneouvering the horse.

Officer Perk - Here you take what you want.
Main Weapon
We will select, under the Lances menu, the "War Lance". It is shorter, but delivers more damage and is more resistant than the Tournament Lance.
After this, we must select the wood type. I suggest you the "Standard Wood", as the lance breaks way too frequently even with Hardwood.
Next we must choose the lance tip. You should take the "Blunt Coronel Tip", because the other one delivers no damage.
Sidearm and Dagger
Gothic knights used maces as sidearm, so we will do the same here. Go on Sidearm, then One Handed Weapons and select the KH Gothic Mace, Common Fighting Style, Standard Steel and Standard wood.

As dagger as usual I suggest the Quillon Dagger.
Helmet and Armour
It's time for the protection! Go on Helmet, then Medium Helmet, and select the Kettle Sallet. Here we must take the Standard Beavor, which can be found under the Coif drop-down menu.

Now go in the Armour menu and under Heavy Armour you will take the KH Plate.

As usual, use the paint you want. I prefer the Polished Steel.
Mount
What is a knight without a horse? It's an unhorsed knight. But here we want to have a knight with a horse. A barded horse, if we want to be accurate. So, go to Mount menu, then click on Barded Horses and take the one you want.
Final Comment
I write it as first thing in the comment, because I want to be clear. This class, once the horse is dead or the lance breaks up, it's really vulnerable due to its slowness and the sidearm which is not the best sidearm in the game. But the true Gothic Kinght used it, so we will use it too.

This class is really hard to use, but once you master the mace you'll be fine. I'm particulary delayed with lance when not jousting, but I'll improve. So, if you see me derping around with this class, don't take me as an example :P

Personally I use the 'Battle Axe' for my Black Knight, which is based on the Gothic Knights.

Well, yes.

Is the regular sallet a good replacement if you don't like or have a kettle sallet?

War hammer, inlaid warhammer, or battleaxe are best sidearm choises, if you plan to take on someone, after your lance breaks, without dismounting. They can two hit kill quite often, sometimes you get spectacular instakill even on armet, especially against horsemen you move in realms of 170 dmg with hammer with two horses head to head and good hit. Mace is possible to master, but the damage output isnt really rewarding enough for what you have to train into you and for risks you take for trying to take on someone with that kind of reach on horse.

for this specific knight, the normal flanged mace (or hjust mace, as it is now called) makes more sense to me

Surely for paint you should use one of the black variants? (As the Holy Roman Empire's Gothic
Knights wore black armour)
